Jiang Yi rushed out of the house and hugged Tan Jing. She even said a little tearfully, “My child! It’s really been hard on you! Your brother has already told us how those a.s.sholes from the Huang family treated you! It’s good that you’re back. Once you’re home, no one will bully you anymore.”

Tan Jing patted Jiang Yi’s back expressionlessly. In this place, she would probably be eaten up without any crumbs. This house was like a blood-sucking den where no one could leave unscathed.

“Don’t keep hugging her. It’s windy outside. Let’s go in and eat,” Tan Bo said.

“I’m too excited! I have forgotten everything! Come in! I have made all your favorite food today!” Jiang Yi pulled Tan Jing into the house.

There was really a lot of food and it was even more grand than during the new year celebrations. She had cooked a total of 12 dishes! However, most of these dishes were food that Tan Jing did not like. Jiang Yi had a hard time trying her best to recall what Tan Jing liked to eat when she was young.

“Elder Sister, let’s drink!” Tan s.h.i.+ filled up the wine gla.s.s and handed it to Tan Jing. She did not say anything and just poured the wine on the floor. Everyone present looked unhappy.

Pouring wine on the floor was a toast to the dead! Tan Jing was cursing them!

“I have brought the medicinal wine that the Xia family gave to curry favor with the Huang family. Let’s drink it to nourish ourselves,” Tan Jing said with a smile.

“I see! Then change out the wine! Hurry!” Jiang Yi quickly called out to Tan s.h.i.+.

Tan s.h.i.+ refilled the gla.s.ses one by one. When it was Liu Cui’s turn, Tan Jing quickly stopped him, saying, “Wait, she can’t drink this wine.”

“Elder Sister… Elder Sister, do you have a problem with me?” Liu Cui asked as she suppressed the anger inside.

“That’s not it. You have a rosy complexion and look to be in good health. This wine is very nutritious. If you get over-nourished, you’ll bleed from all seven orifices,” Tan Jing said.

Liu Cui came to a realization and said, “I see! Then I’ll drink water! Anyway, someone has to do the cleaning up later!”

“Then I won’t drink as well. I’ll do the cleaning up with her,” Tan s.h.i.+ said with a silly smile as he poured the wine for the rest. Liu Cui had a blissful expression on her face.

When it was Tan Jing’s turn, she covered the wine gla.s.s with her hand and said, “I’ll just drink some water. I still have to go to a business meeting after this. I still have medicinal wine at home. This bottle is for you.”

“Right, right, right! Give it to me! Your father and I will drink more!” Jiang Yi could not stop smiling, as if the medicinal wine in front of her was an elixir for immortality.

Everyone had a good time during the meal. Tan Jing also had a rare smile on her face. Before she left, she asked the driver to send the gifts she brought to the various family members’ houses. Most of the items were food and were things which the Tan family had never seen before.

When Liu Cui returned home, she felt that something was wrong. Why was she not allowed to drink? Could it really be because she was in good health? Her family also had wine made with medicinal herbs at home. Her father would drink a gla.s.s every meal and said that it could extend his life.

“Your elder sister is really a strange person,” Liu Cui said.

“That’s true! My elder sister is a very moody person! But she’s in a good mood today! She usually doesn’t come back to see us,” Tan s.h.i.+ said as he mopped the floor.

“Don’t mop the floor first. Cut some watermelon for me,” Liu Cui said.

“Watermelon? When do we have watermelon? I thought I only bought oranges?” Tan s.h.i.+ asked curiously.

“Elder Sister brought it with her. Go quickly!” Liu Cui said anxiously.

“Wait for me to finish mopping the floor first. I’m almost done,” Tan s.h.i.+ said.

Liu Cui touched her stomach and said, “Alright, you can let your son wait.”

“What! Son!” Tan s.h.i.+ looked at Liu Cui in surprise. After confirming that Liu Cui was not joking with him, he rushed over excitedly and picked Liu Cui up. “You’re pregnant?”

“Yes, you’re going to become a father,” Liu Cui said blissfully.
