Chapter 3295: Restoration

Did Lu Yin believe Luo Shen? He could not decide.

What did it matter whether she loved him or not? Whiteless G.o.d was one of Aeternus’s Seven SkyG.o.ds. She was the one who controlled Aeterna, the list of traitors and Redbacks. She had orchestrated countless betrayals and done incalculable damage to humanity. If w.a.n.g Xiaoyu's betrayal made her the greatest Redback in the history of the Fifth Mainland, then Whiteless G.o.d was humanity's greatest adversary, the one whom they most desperately wanted to eliminate.

She was not a threat due to her raw strength. Rather, it was her pervasive temptations and how deeply she had infiltrated humanity that made her threatening. She worked to destroy the very core of humanity.

There was no reason for Lu Yin to allow such a being to go free.

The two people were surrounded by Lu Yin’s inner universe, which rendered Whiteless G.o.d’s sequence particles completely useless. Everything she did would be exposed. There was no way for her to do anything that escaped Lu Yin’s notice.

He could strike her down at any moment, but for some reason, he hesitated. He could not bring himself to deliver the final strike.

Was it because Whiteless G.o.d loved him? Or was it because her love for him was from Ming Yan?

For some reason, attacking Whiteless G.o.d felt like attacking Yan'er.

Luo Shen stared into Lu Yin’s eyes as she brushed some of her hair aside. “I can still see Ming Yan in your eyes even now. I know that I can never replace her, but I can make sure that you will never forget me.”

As she spoke, she attacked Lu Yin. Her white mountains and sea surged forwards. They were capable of melting anything. However, that was only what it looked like. The reality was that the Progenitor’s world attacked on a microscopic level; everything in it was made of microscopic creatures that ultimately formed Whiteless G.o.d’s Progenitor's world.

Soil appeared in front of Lu Yin, condensing into a spear that thrust forwards.

The spear pierced the mountain and sea, but to Lu Yin’s utter shock, the spear stabbed through Luo Shen’s body as well.

She coughed up blood even as she forced her way past the spear and towards Lu Yin. Her hand rose, ready for another strike.

A terrifying power erupted in front of Lu Yin. It was Infinity. Like some sort of astral phenomenon that raged through his inner universe, it blasted Luo Shen back, making her cough up even more blood. Even so, she did not give up, and she doggedly continued to charge at Lu Yin.

One of the mighty Seven SkyG.o.ds, someone whom Lu Yin had once looked up to as an unrivaled expert, was now someone he could defeat easily.

Lu Yin had chased Aeternus’s Ossis Ark down, and he had eliminated all of the Three Pillars and Six Skies that had been aboard the s.h.i.+p. Each of them had similarly been powerless before Lu Yin.

Just the shockwave from Lu Yin’s attack left Whiteless G.o.d wounded.

Her eyes blazed red as divine energy erupted. Her body suddenly vanished, and she shrank down to a microscopic size that rendered her invisible to the naked eye.

A casual wave of a hand from Lu Yin unleashed an attack so powerful that the True Void was nearly exposed. Even in her microscopic state, Whiteless G.o.d could not hide from this attack, and she was viciously knocked back. Her body shattered into pieces.

Luo Shen’s body had already been destroyed on the Immemorial Citadel’s battlefield. Her current form was nothing more than a projection formed by her consciousness.

Lu Yin frowned. That was right, Luo Shen’s body had been destroyed some time ago, so why had Whiteless G.o.d still taken on that same appearance? There was no need for a creature of consciousness to be tied to any specific body.

Progenitor Xi was the same, though it was also possible that the two had simply grown accustomed to specific forms.

Lu Yin looked down at the ground. There was blood, but it was fake. Consciousness had no blood.

"There are two different types of life in the Consciousness Megaverse: those who purposely take on a specific form, and those who take on whatever form other creatures expect to see, based on their perception of the individual. Brother Lu, in your mind, Whiteless G.o.d is Luo Shen, so you see me as Luo Shen." Whiteless G.o.d answered Lu Yin’s seemingly unspoken question.

Lu Yin understood now. The Luo Shen that he had seen on the Immemorial Citadel’s battlefield had been Whiteless G.o.d’s real body, while the Luo Shen that he currently saw was nothing more than a projection of consciousness. The reason why it had the same appearance was him.

If he had a mental image of a consciousness-based creature, then that was what it would look like to him.

A ripple of consciousness stirred just a short distance away from Lu Yin.

"Brother Lu, will you kill me?" Whiteless G.o.d’s voice rang out.

Lu Yin was feeling incredibly conflicted at this moment. "Yes."

"Will it hurt?"

Lu Yin slowly clenched a fist as he focused on the rippling consciousness before him. Memories of Luo Shen’s smiles and various expressions danced through his mind. The girl who had once followed him while calling him Brother Lu. The one who had taken an attack for him. The one who had given him her feelings without expecting anything in return. Her love had been real, right?

Lu Yin wished that Luo Shen's love was fake.

"Hurt and regret can never replace the deepest scars that are left behind. Brother Lu, I don't want you to suffer, but I do want you to remember me, always and forever." With those words, the ripple moved towards Lu Yin. As it drew closer, the vast consciousness dispersed like a gust of wind, and it flowed directly into the star of consciousness in Lu Yin's inner universe.

He instinctively wanted to stop it, but he did not. He had already planned to eliminate Whiteless G.o.d, and at this moment, there was no need for him to take action at all.

The star of consciousness was an aspect of Lu Yin’s power. The last time he had used Possession, he had been chased by True G.o.d, who had cracked and badly damaged the star of consciousness. At this moment, Whiteless G.o.d’s vast consciousness poured into the star, fully restoring it.

Xu Jin had gained its consciousness through cultivation, whereas Whiteless G.o.d was a lifeform of consciousness.

This meant that his star of consciousness was not just restored; it also gained an overflowing vitality and spiritual force. It gave off an ineffable feeling. It was as though another Progenitor's world had just appeared within Lu Yin’s inner universe.

He stared at the star of consciousness in a daze, speechless for a long time.

He may have hated Whiteless G.o.d, but he also pitied her. She had nearly torn him and Ming Yan apart. She had not even been human, and yet she had experienced human emotions and given her love to Lu Yin. A creature of consciousness should never have been burdened with such emotions.

Only humans truly understood how painful it could be to suffer from emotions.

At what point in time did Lu Yin owe Whiteless G.o.d his life? She had sacrificed her very being in order to help transform Lu Yin’s star of consciousness. In addition to the story that she had told him, she had left an indelible mark on him. Lu Yin knew that he would never be able to forget Whiteless G.o.d, no matter how long he lived.

Lu Yin was the only one who remained on the desolate planet.

He remained there for a very long time before he finally left.

When he returned to the Ice Spirit Tribe’s universe, Lu Yin asked to take the Iceheart with him. Of course, he offered to leave a replacement Iceheart behind for the Ice Spirits.

The Ice Lord saw no reason to refuse. His people only needed one Iceheart. In the past, the Iceheart had not been taken to the Heavens Sect because it had also held Bai Qing, and Jiang Feng would have never allowed it. However, with only Ming Yan still inside, as well as the recent incident, Lu Yin had no other choice.

The Ice Spirit Tribe simply was not safe enough.

After delivering the Iceheart to the Heavens Sect, Lu Yin stared at it, lost in his thoughts.

To Whiteless G.o.d, Ming Yan was just an ordinary human. Despite that, an ordinary person had resisted Whiteless G.o.d’s manipulations of consciousness. Ming Yan’s love for Lu Yin was entirely pure. He was the only one for her, and she was also the only one for him, right?

Lu Yin desperately wanted to help Ming Yan recover, but with such powerful enemies on the horizon, what would helping Ming Yan recover even accomplish? Could Lu Yin truly protect her? He was not confident that he could even protect himself.

He smiled bitterly and shook his head. "Wait for me. I started on Earth, and I’ve made it this far. Nothing can stop me. Yan’er, I will help you recover when it’s safe and peaceful."

As he emerged from where he had left the Iceheart, Lu Yin was suddenly reminded of Bi Rong. While Lu Yin was confident that he could help Ming Yan recover her lost vitality, what about Bi Rong?

Lu Yin took out Bi Rong’s body and studied it.

He had found the corpse in Burial Garden. He had no idea how or why Bi Rong had ended up in that place, let alone so close to the ruins of the Rune Civilization. Something must have happened, but that no longer mattered. If Lu Yin could restore Bi Rong’s strength, humanity would gain another incredible powerhouse.

Lu Yin repeatedly tried to help Bi Rong recover, but all such attempts failed.

Bi Rong was different from Ming Yan. Ming Yan had lost her vitality, while Bi Rong had lost his mind, or his consciousness.

In other words, Bi Rong was nothing more than a body, as he had lost his soul.

Lu Yin put Bi Rong's body away again. There was a chance that a consciousness could inhabit the body in the future, putting it to use again.

It was such a pity that such a powerful expert was gone forever.

Deep beneath the Immemorial Citadel, Mister Mu shared details of what had happened with the Origin Progenitor.

The Origin Progenitor's eyes went wide. "Has the Fated One revealed themselves?"

Mister Mu sighed. "They have indeed appeared. There's no longer any need for you to hide yourself. That Master Qing Cao must have gone beyond this megaverse to the one called the Spirit Nidus, right?"

The Origin Progenitor’s mood fell. "When Musclehead used the Origin Progenitor’s Sutra to share that man’s face, I already knew."

"By the way, you should have found the answer you were seeking."

The Origin Progenitor was caught off guard. "Answer?"

Mister Mu explained his theory regarding the chains of karma to the Origin Progenitor. The man fell silent for a moment, and then his body s.h.i.+fted slightly. At the same time, Burial Garden started to tremble.

There was a city in Burial Garden that had been built by those who had entered and never left. While most of the inhabitants had already departed, some had stayed behind in the city, hoping to continue cultivating in Burial Garden.

As the place shook, the city’s inhabitants hurried out. They did not understand what was happening.

The Yellow Springs also surged. Tombkeeper, as well as the leaders of the Four Dead Regiments and the other powerhouses who had survived the battle at the Immemorial Citadel, moved out, and they all stared back at Burial Garden.

Suddenly, Burial Garden began to shrink. A hand unexpectedly stretched out from it, and it flew beneath the Immemorial Citadel.

In the Origin Universe’s Perennial World, the w.a.n.g family’s floating continent quivered. The cultivators there all hurried away, astonished by the sudden development.

Just like Burial Garden, a hand emerged from the w.a.n.g family’s continent, only to instantly disappear. The sh.e.l.l that was the w.a.n.g family’s continent remained intact, and the Yellow Springs waters remained as well.

The Origin Progenitor rose to his feet as his two hands rejoined his body. An overwhelming aura swept through the void, causing the entire Immemorial Citadel to shake. Even the countless sequence strings vibrated.

Lu Yin was standing in the Heavens Sect, and he looked up at the sky. He could see ripples moving through s.p.a.ce, and he understood that it was from the vibrating sequence strings. The Origin Progenitor had finally recovered.

A single step started Lu Yin on his way to the Immemorial Citadel.

Both Burial Garden and the w.a.n.g family’s mainland still looked the same as before, but the Origin Progenitor’s hands were gone from within the two places. Even the Yellow Springs remained behind.

The Origin Progenitor stretched his arms and clenched his fists. "I’m back! It feels strange after not using my hands for so long."

Hongyan Mavis and the others were ecstatic to see that the Origin Progenitor had finally recovered. At this moment, they were confident of facing off even against an enemy Immortal.

The Origin Progenitor reached up and grabbed the countless sequence strings. He opened his mouth, and let out a long howl. His voice echoed across countless parallel universes, causing innumerable creatures to look upwards. None of them could understand where the sound had come from.

For countless years, the Origin Progenitor had been held in place by the sequence strings, and he had finally broken free.

"Old Mu, now it’s your turn. You hold things down." The Origin Progenitor laughed as he looked over at Mister Mu.

The other man showed a rare smile. "That has nothing to do with me."

The Origin Progenitor rolled his eyes. "So cold, huh?"

Lu Yin arrived, and he was overjoyed to see the Origin Progenitor restored. "Origin Progenitor, I’m returning your Primaldust."

From his forehead, the six specks of Primaldust flew out to the Origin Progenitor, instantly merging with the man’s body.
