Chapter 3340: Blind Spot In Cultivation
Lu Yin immediately ordered Second Life to retreat from the battles.h.i.+p. He had miscalculated in his plans, and the s.h.i.+p was better defended than he had expected. He could not allow Second Life to sacrifice themselves in vain.
They would not be able to withstand even one attack from the round-faced old man.
Given the man’s speed, even if Second Life tried to escape, they would fail. If Lu Yin tried to attack, he might enter the influence of the Impression Realm or even fall into a trap that the old man had laid, which would instantly reverse the current balance.
The round-faced old man gave a small smile as he waited to see what Lu Yin would choose. If the young man did not act, the old man would kill everyone in Second Life. If Lu Yin did take action, it might bite him.
Lu Yin started to move, which caused the old man’s smile to widen. "Young man, you’re still too inexperienced to fight me. My Impression Realm can do far more than what you believe. I only need a single opportunity to seriously injure you, which will eliminate the greatest threat in this Tianyuan Megaverse."
Lu Yin did make a move, but he did not attack the round-faced old man. Instead, he targeted Bao Qi.
Bao Qi was still caught up in his Dukkha.
Overcoming Dukkha was not a realm of cultivation, but rather a process of deep reflection on self-awareness and future changes in oneself. At this moment, Bao Qi was completely immersed in his Dukkha. This essentially meant that the Spirit Nidus had lost one of their strongest experts for a time.
Of course, Garan Zhiluo and the others did not dare to attack Bao Qi at this moment. Just because he had entered Dukkha did not mean that his strength had fallen. In fact, there was a strong possibility that he had been further strengthened.
Lu Yin had no other option. Only by attacking Bao Qi could he hope to mitigate the threat of the round-faced old man.The old man had laid a trap for Lu Yin and then waited for the young man to enter it. Instead, Lu Yin had decided to push Bao Qi into the trap. The question had become whether the Tianyuan Megaverse could afford to lose Second Life, or if the Spirit Nidus could afford to lose Bao Qi.
Lu Yin threw a powerful palm strike at Bao Qi. Lu Yin’s strength had reached the biological limits of the megaverse. If Bao Qi did not protect himself from the attack, there was no doubt that he would be gravely wounded.
The round-faced old man had not expected Lu Yin to suddenly attack Bao Qi, and the old man raced to stop the attack.
While the Seven Seraphs competed among each other, that did not mean that the old man could stand back while Lu Yin killed Bao Qi. If that happened, the old man would not be able to provide a reasonable explanation to the High Seraph.
The old man had no idea if Lu Yin’s attack could actually kill Bao Qi, but the young man’s strength was so terrifying that it was not worth the risk.
The old man’s golden pen shot out a beam of golden light across the universe to block Lu Yin’s attack before it reached Bao Qi.
The palm strike slammed into the golden light, and the void near the impact shattered. The destruction caused the Cauldron Bell to tremble.
Second Life seized the opportunity to escape from the battles.h.i.+p.
As the Cauldron Bell shook, Bao Qi’s eyes finally moved away from it. He looked at Lu Yin, who had just attacked, turned around, and simply left.
Lu Yin was stunned.
The round-faced old man was equally startled.
Even Garan Zhiluo and several others stared at Bao Qi in disbelief. Just what had happened to the violent, crazed man? In the face of one of Lu Yin’s attacks, even peak powerhouses would have done their best to defend themselves, let alone a Seraph. It was clear that Lu Yin had tried to kill Bao Qi as a way of distracting the round-faced old man. Bao Qi had been treated as nothing but bait.
However, Bao Qi simply ignored such humiliation and started walking towards the stone gate.
His actions were disturbingly quiet, and the nearby battlefield fell silent. No one had expected Bao Qi, who had just started his Dukkha, to act in such a way.
Many people glanced at Shao Chen. Despite being nothing more than a Progenitor, he had accomplished something of great significance on the current battlefield. Regardless of what was happening to Bao Qi, for the moment, the Spirit Nidus was down one of their most powerful experts.
The round-faced elder shouted, "Bao Qi, attack!"
Bao Qi did not even acknowledge the other Seraph’s words as he continued on, straight into the battles.h.i.+p.
A truly unique expression covered the round-faced old man’s face. Just what was Bao Qi’s Dukkha?
Everyone’s Dukkha is different, shaped by personal experiences, thoughts, and cultivation paths. Some are bizarre, while others are tragic. The round-faced elder’s Dukkha had been tied to a lifelong ambition that he’d set as a child. When he achieved his goal and became a Sangtian, the fulfillment of that ambition became his Dukkha, leaving him in a state of indescribable misery.
So what about Bao Qi? What was his Dukkha?
No one would ever reveal their Dukkha to another, but the old man did know one thing: Bao Qi could not be relied on for their invasion. At least, not for the time being.
With no other options at his disposal, the old man turned to the battles.h.i.+p. It was clear that continuing the battle would be futile.
Lu Yin’s eyes lit up. If Bao Qi was really out of the fight, then the Spirit Nidus had just lost one of their most powerful experts. He could not waste such an opportunity. He needed to secure an advantage for the war.
With that in mind, the little boat that was Lightstream appeared near Lu Yin. With a wave of his hand, the River of Aeons appeared.
The river surged forward, and everyone from the Spirit Nidus who saw it was stunned.
"Is that… the River of Aeons?"
"Impossible! How could the River of Aeons have appeared? Not even the Seven Seraphs can cause that to appear!"
The arrival of the River of Aeons badly startled everyone from the Spirit Nidus.
Even the round-faced old man’s pupils shrank. The River of Aeons? The Mirari Realm really is in this Tianyuan Megaverse! d.a.m.n it! They managed to anchor the Mirari Realm to this megaverse. Where is Yuan Qi? Why didn’t he tell us that this young man can summon the River of Aeons? This is no ordinary power!
Lu Yin had just revealed something that was a blind spot in the Spirit Nidus's cultivation knowledge.
If the Spirit Nidus had not lost access to the Mirari Realm, then how could they be unable to summon the River of Aeons? How could they lack a sequence technique related to the power of time?
Although the old man was able to see through the power of time and even negate Lu Yin’s ability to travel at the speed of time, that had been through brute strength, not mastery of the power of time. Without access to the River of Aeons, the Spirit Nidus was severely lacking in any sort of comprehension or cultivation related to the power of time. They had no way to traverse the River of Aeons, fish in it, or even access parallel universes where time pa.s.sed at a different rate. All of those things were missing in the Spirit Nidus.
While the Origin Progenitor and Mister Mu’s decision to anchor the Mirari Realm to the Tianyuan Megaverse had been extremely risky as they had turned the megaverse into a prime target and attracted some terrible enemies, that one action had also compensated for a large portion of the gap in strength between the Tianyuan Megaverse and the Spirit Nidus. Without any parallel universes where time pa.s.sed faster, how else would Lu Yin have been able to achieve his current level of strength?
If the Tianyuan Megaverse had not had access to the Mirari Realm and had been deprived of the power of time just like the Spirit Nidus, then the gap between the two megaverses would have been staggering. Just as the Spirit Nidus had been expecting, their invasion would have been nothing short of a ma.s.sacre, and the Tianyuan Megaverse would have been utterly incapable of resisting.
The Mirari Realm, beyond the fact that one had practically unlimited cultivation time because time did not seem to pa.s.s there, also held the River of Aeons. This allowed parallel universes where time pa.s.sed at a different rate from the rest of the megaverse to appear. Furthermore, the Mirari Realm held unspeakable karmic mysteries. There were secrets there that not even Immortals could fully comprehend.
There was no denying that anchoring the Mirari Realm to the Tianyuan Megaverse had also brought about considerable risks. Doing so had not only provoked the Spirit Nidus’s enmity, but it had also led to the Origin Progenitor’s demise and the destruction of the ancient Heavens Sect. It had also brought Wei Nu to their megaverse.
In the end, no one knew what the Mirari Realm would ultimately bring to the Tianyuan Megaverse.
For the moment, the fact that Lu Yin had summoned the River of Aeons left everyone from the Spirit Nidus utterly stunned and bewildered. All of them just stared at the river.
Lightstream sailed across the River of Aeons. As Lu Yin stood on the small boat, he watched the scenes that flickered past him.
As he traversed the River of Aeons, Lu Yin saw the Spirit Nidus’s battles.h.i.+p, and he stepped forward. He moved across time and arrived on the vessel’s deck, where he saw the scene of the Abandoned being killed by the three a.s.sa.s.sins.
Lu Yin was not able to alter the past, but he could move to the past. Scenes continued to move around him, and he saw Bao Qi’s insane attacks, the battles.h.i.+p retreating, Second Life’s attack, the deaths of the Three a.s.sa.s.sins, the appearance of the Heaven-Devouring Umbrella, and Bao Qi returning to the s.h.i.+p.
As the images stopped changing, Lu Yin found himself standing on the deck of the battles.h.i.+p. Behind him loomed the ma.s.sive Heaven-Devouring Umbrella, while in front of him stood the towering stone gate. Just on the other side of the gate stood the round-faced old man.
The old man turned his head, and stared at the battles.h.i.+p in shock. "Did you just… travel through time?"
Further away, Palace Master Yao, Tian Ci, and the other top experts from the Spirit Nidus were equally astonished. Travel through time? Was Lu Yin capable of altering his own past? What kind of power was that? This was the power that could be granted by the Mirari Realm.
"Bao Qi!" the round-faced old man shouted.
At this moment, Lu Yin was already standing on the battles.h.i.+p, accompanied by only Bao Qi. That Seraph was the only one who could stop Lu Yin.
Lu Yin attacked the Heaven-Devouring Umbrella with a palm strike, and the impact caused the battles.h.i.+p to tremble.
Inside the vessel, Bao Qi sat down and closed his eyes. He did not move at all. Even when the Cauldron Bell in front of him trembled, it elicited no reaction.
The young elites of the Spirit Nidus were all horrified, as they were able to feel Lu Yin’s power right above them.
Everyone was thrown back by the shockwaves from Lu Yin’s attack. Yuan Mie slammed into the inside of the hull. When he raised his head, his face was pale. “What a monster!”
The purple-haired girl, Cat, and the individual trembling beneath a blanket in a corner were all thrown off balance. The entire battles.h.i.+p nearly capsized.
Green sword qi flickered through s.p.a.ce, the attack was aimed at Lu Yin.
He extended a finger, and a purplish-black substance spread out from it to slam against the green sword qi. The slash froze in s.p.a.ce for a moment before it dissipated.
Palace Master Yao’s expression changed slightly. "What immense strength and what terrifying power. It’s no wonder that he was able to face the president of the Chamber of Commerce. There’s no doubt that this man is at the same level as the Seven Seraphs."
The round-faced old man raced towards the battles.h.i.+p as fast as he could as fast as he could. As he shot through outer s.p.a.ce, the Impression Realm released a surge of sequence particles that filled the region.
Lu Yin only had moments to act. The old man was not far away, and he could arrive at any moment. Lu Yin’s attack had not been strong enough to destroy the umbrella or the battles.h.i.+p, and it had allowed him to realize that the umbrella was also a sequence base.
Four of the Spirit Nidus’s sequence bases had been brought to the Tianyuan Megaverse as part of the invasion.
Since it was a sequence base…
Lu Yin pressed both hands against the Heaven-Devouring Umbrella and released his inner universe while using Verdant Eternity. There was a mighty roar that caused the entire battles.h.i.+p to tremble again. As the round-faced old man and others from the Spirit Nidus stared bug-eyed, Lu Yin forcibly ripped the ma.s.sive umbrella away.
“Stop!” the old man roared in fury as he threw his golden pen forward, aiming it right at Lu Yin.
Lu Yin kept a firm hold of the Heaven-Devouring Umbrella with his inner universe as some of the stars started to swirl around and sequence particles spread out. They were the Law of Near and Far, and when they appeared, Lu Yin disappeared.
He had used some of the sequence particles that he had harvested from the Rivers and Mountains Painting. That sequence base had introduced the laws of the universe to Lu Yin’s inner universe.
The old man arrived just as Lu Yin vanished, and he stared at the battles.h.i.+p’s suddenly empty deck. The Heaven-Devouring Umbrella was gone. Lu Yin had already stolen it.
The old man immediately started to chase after Lu Yin, only to suddenly stop. A person shrouded with a black robe had appeared. This was the expert who had attacked the Immemorial Citadel.
“They were prepared. The attempt failed,” a voice from within the black robes stated.
The round-faced elder clenched his fists while shooting a resentful glare after Lu Yin. The old man then muttered something to the black-robed figure, who responded with surprise, “It’s that difficult? Very well.”
With that, the figure disappeared.
Lu Yin fled with the Heaven-Devouring Umbrella. No one from the Spirit Nidus dared to try to block him, and even if they had, their efforts would have been futile. Lu Yin was strong enough to fight against the Seven Seraphs of the Spirit Nidus. Not even Palace Master Yao’s Bifrost Unscathed Sword would be enough to threaten Lu Yin.
Suddenly, Mister Mu arrived in the universe. He immediately spotted Lu Yin and the Heaven-Devouring Umbrella he was carrying, but he said nothing, despite the surprise he felt. Instead, Mister Mu’s focus s.h.i.+fted to the stone gate.
