Chapter 1389: Tan Tailan's Return

The rumbling could be heard throughout the World's End River Region.

Numerous surprised gazes were directed towards the fist that had pierced through the crystallized area of the river. It all seemed a little absurd. Just what was trying to break out of the World's End River?

The Faceless Other King stopped in its tracks due to the disturbance. The blood-red eye on its face was directed at the crystallized part of the World's End River, and its heart skipped a beat. "Li Jingzhe actually used his source origin flames to burn a gap through the World's End River? Why did he do that? Also whose fist is that? The World's End River is so turbulent that even Kings have difficulty crossing it. Who in the world could possibly be hiding in there?”

All of this was incredibly strange, and the Faceless Other King felt a sense of unease. However, it didn't hesitate any longer, appearing before Li Luo and reaching for him with its pale and clammy hand. Regardless of what happened, it would first retrieve the Genesis Seed.

Li Luo activated all of the resonant power he had access to. He attempted to flee, but s.p.a.ce seemed to be constricted. No matter how hard he struggled, he was unable to move even an inch.

Jiang Qing'e's eyes were red and all of the light resonant power within her attempted to burst out. Even then, it was tightly restrained within her, and unable to be mobilized in the slightest.

When faced with a Dual Crowned King, their resistance was futile.

"Little Luo!" Li Qingpeng, Li Jinpan, Ox Biaobiao, and the rest roared in pain. They had similarly been restrained and could only watch on with eyes wide open as the Faceless Other King took action.

Hopelessness flooded them.

In a situation where Li Jingzhe was incapable of taking action, there was no one who could stop the Faceless Other King!

As endless despair surged into everyone's hearts, a beam of silver light arced across the sky. The void seemed to resonate with it.

Everyone then saw the void in front of Li Luo distort, and a fair, slender hand stretched out of it. The palm glowed with golden light.

The slender hand then tightly clenched, forming a fist.

"You are looking to die!" The Faceless Other King snorted coldly. No matter who the other party was, they would be unable to stop it. After all, even Li Jingzhe was helpless!

A palm pushed outwards in response. The palm and the fist collided heavily.

That very brief skirmish indicated that the opponent was no weaker than a Dual Crowned King! Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e were knocked out of their stupor as they quietly stared at that fist that had emerged from a spatial rift.

The feeling of surviving yet another catastrophe had left them dazed.

At the same time, the spatial rift where the fist protruded out of slowly rotated, forming a larger spatial vortex. At this point, a slender and tall woman walked out.

What followed was a voice that was as cold as the iciest springs in the world. "Have you asked his mother for permission to take her son?"

Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e felt as though they had been struck by lightning.

They stared blankly at the person that had emerged from the spatial vortex.

She was a willowy and tall lady, garbed in a purple coat. Her long hair was tied up, giving her an elegant and graceful appearance. Every step she took gave off domineering pressure that surged out of her like a tidal wave.

The duo stared at her familiar face, and their hearts began to pound. They were struck with so much disbelief that they started shaking.

The purple-coated lady tilted her head slightly to look at them, and numerous emotions replaced the originally cold look in her eyes. Warmth, longing, happiness, worry...

In the end, she gave a slight smile and stretched out her hands to caress both their faces. "It's been a while, my two little brats."

The feeling of her slightly cold fingers brus.h.i.+ng over their cheeks awakened them. The face they had longed to see for many years was reflected in their eyes.

"Mother?"

"Mistress?"

Their voices were shaky as they were afraid that this was just another hallucination before their inevitable deaths. Looking at how cautious the two were, the purple-robed lady had a sour feeling in the tip of her nose. They had left in a hurry all those years ago, and her two children must have suffered immensely as a result.

She lightly rubbed their faces with her palms as she gently responded, "Yes.. your mother is back."

It was only then that the two knew that this wasn't a dream.

Tan Tailan had finally returned! Li Luo's heart was racing and his eyes turned red. He wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in his throat. In the end, he could only exhale with all his strength. He managed to hold back the torrent of emotions, but the usually composed Jiang Qing'e was more emotional than usual. Tears of joy welled up in her eyes as she took a step forward into Tan Tailan's embrace.

She took a step forward and stood before her children.

At this point in time, the crowd had also recovered from the unexpected revelation of this newcomer. They were even more taken aback when they saw the lady, and deeply etched memories came to the fore of their minds.

"You... Are you Tan Tailan?!" Qin Baiyan eyes were as wide as saucers.

Li Jinpan and Li Qingpeng had expressions of disbelief as well. "Sister-in-law?"

Who would have expected that she would appear here after years without any contact.

Ox Biaobiao similarly blinked as though he had seen a ghost.

However, this thought quickly changed as they noticed that something amiss.

The energy undulations coming from each of the Duke Bergfried caused the world to shake.

A terrifying pressure like a tempest unfolded.

It was then that they were reminded of something. Their gazes turned towards the tops of those Duke Bergfrieds. They finally noticed ten golden pillars representing perfection on top of them. Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfrieds! Seven Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfrieds bestowed one with the t.i.tle of a Transcendent Duke! Meanwhile, one with eight of them... was known as a Greater Transcendent!
