Chapter 1420: Grand Guardian General Li Luo
The battle platform had fallen deathly silent. Everyone looked completely flabbergasted as they saw that there were only two Duke Bergfrieds above the other four Guardian Generals. It was as though they had seen a ghost.
No one had expected that a single strike from Li Luo would reduce four fifth-grade Dukes into second-grade Dukes. The impact of this scene was simply too much.
Meanwhile, the members of the Five Guardian Armies had shocked expressions. Even Li Fengyi and the rest gasped at this sight.
Li Fengyi gulped as she asked, "Was the Dragon Blood Affliction Art always this terrifying?"
Li Foluo shook his head and smiled bitterly. "Normally speaking, the Dragon Blood Affliction Art is only able to reduce the opponent's strength by one grade, and this is with much difficulty. There's also a high likelihood that the user might experience a backlash. Furthermore, I've never actually seen the Dragon Blood Affliction Art work on four people at once. After all, the odds of failing would be high and the rebound would be immense. Li Luo is truly gutsy."
"It's not that he's brave, it's the fact that he has absolute confidence in the purity of this Heavenly Dragon bloodline. Now that he has taken the form of a Heavenly Dragon, such arts are much more effective as the density of his Heavenly Dragon blood essence has increased," Li Hongyou explained.
Li Foluo nodded as he stared at the awe-inspiring creature that emanated a sense of terror on the battle platform. "Transforming into a Heavenly Dragon and activating the Dragon Blood Affliction Art is truly a perverse combination. I feel that in the future, no one beneath the Seventh Duke Stage in the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li will dare to challenge him."
Those individuals would be looking for a beating otherwise. Even a sixth-grade Duke would become third-grade when facing him. Even though it was temporary, he could easily obtain victory during that period of time.
Li Luo was now considered unstoppable whenever there were internal battles. It was a pity that this was not as useful against outsiders. Furthermore, the pressure on their innate bloodlines would not be as strong either.
"Who cares how he does it? All that matters is that he wins," Li Fengyi said with a grin.
Li Foluo smiled as well. After seeing Li Luo brandish his surprisingly effective Dragon Blood Affliction Art, the battle for the Grand Guardian General position was likely coming to an end.
The second-grade Guardian Generals had no way of struggling against him.
This also meant that Li Luo would achieve the greatest honor possible within the Five Guardian Armies.
All the five treasures would belong to one army.
The Dragon's Fang Guardians of their generation would likely be the strongest it had ever been.
Meanwhile, the four Guardian Generals themselves were still in a state of confusion, frightened silly by the oppressive Duke Art that Li Luo had just used.
A single Soul Ascension-grade Duke Art had ruined them. Truthfully speaking, its power had far exceeded the Soul Ascension-grade. Even calling it a Destiny-grade wasn’t enough to describe how effective it was! That said, regardless of how hard it was to believe, Li Luo's move was horrifying.
Meanwhile, Li Luo in his Heavenly Dragon form continued to float in the air as purple-gold light flowed around him and his coldly glinting fangs. He unhinged his maw, and boundless amounts of dragonbreath spewed out towards the four. This torrent of dragonbreath was incredibly domineering. Wherever it pa.s.sed, the void shattered. The dragonbreath was imbued with heavy draconic might, seemingly capable of consuming everything.
The four of them hurriedly roused their remaining Duke Bergfrieds and poured their resonant power into their Mythic Armaments.
A moment later, the four mythic armaments began to s.h.i.+ne resplendently as worldly natural energy was mobilized to clash against the dragonbreath.
Boom!
As they collided, a thunderous explosion echoed throughout the world. It was so loud that the entirety of G.o.driver City could hear it.
Alas, the four Mythic Armaments were knocked backwards so hard that they zipped away, leaving streams of light in their wake. Meanwhile, the Guardian Generals were all severely injured and spat out mouthfuls of blood before cras.h.i.+ng into the battle platform.
They simply weren't Li Luo's match at this point.
Li Zhihuo's Hundred Battles Platemail was incredibly st.u.r.dy and thus, his injuries were the lightest. He felt indignant and was not willing to lose just like this. He struggled to stand, planning to continue fighting.
However, as soon as he was on his feet, the void shuddered and a humongous head that emanated a suffocating pressure poked out of it, stopping just a few inches away from his face. Its mouth slowly opened up, revealing rows of sharp teeth which were reflected in Li Zhihuo's eyes.
Li Zhihuo dumbfoundedly glared at the ma.s.sive dragon's head. Just its aura alone was causing his entire body to shake, his legs to tremble, and primal fear to permeate the very depths of his body. Ṛ?ℕȏ?Ěş
All of his courage and willpower had vanished.
Clang!
His legs weakened and he unwillingly fell to his knees, his face completely pale. Li Zhihuo's heart surged as he knew that he would never be able to surpa.s.s Li Luo ever again. His opponent's rise was unstoppable, and he would far exceed him in the future.
"Do you still want to fight?" Li Luo asked in a low voice filled with majesty.
Behind Li Zhihuo, the other three Guardian Generals bitterly smiled and sighed, shaking their heads. "Guardian General Li Luo, your moves were beyond our expectations."
Frankly speaking, they already knew that even if Li Luo had not used the Dragon Blood Affliction Art, the chances of victory would be low even if the four of them worked together. After all, his Heavenly Dragon transformation alone nullified any advantage their Mythic Armaments provided.
Thus, the three of them gave up. There was nothing shameful about losing to Li Luo.
As per the rules of the Five Guardian Armies, they each took a knee as they offered up their Mythic Armaments with both hands.
The Heavenly Dragon’s Ten Thousand Scale Mirror.
The Heavenly Dragon’s Golden Bone Hammer.
The Heavenly Dragon’s Clarion Horn.
The gigantic Heavenly Dragon then flashed with a blinding radiance before quickly shrinking. In a few moments, Li Luo was back to his human form.
He stretched his hand out, and the three Mythic Armaments floated before him.
He then looked at Li Zhihuo, who had fallen silent. He removed the Heavenly Dragon’s Hundred Battles Platemail and sent it floating before Li Luo together with the Heavenly Dragon’s Light and Dark Spear.
When Li Luo saw all five Mythic Armaments radiating powerful energy undulations, he felt a little lost for words. All five Mythic Armaments belonged to one Guardian Army. This was the greatest honor one could have amongst the Five Guardian Armies. Even his father had only managed to obtain four. Unknowingly, Li Luo had already achieved the same heights.
He reached out, his right hand grasping the Light and Dark Spear whilst the left held onto the Golden Bone Hammer. The Hundred Battles Platemail equipped itself to his body, making him look extremely heroic. The Clarion Horn was hung on his waist whilst the Ten Thousand Scale Mirror fused with the armor, taking the form of a heart-protecting mirror on his chest. This was the true form of all the armaments being wielded by one.
Worldly natural energy thrummed, and he could sense a terrifying power concealed within these artifacts.
Even he would find it difficult to bear the strain on his body when they were all activated.
He had a premonition that the combination of these Mythic Armaments allowed them to reach the level of a Venerated Heirloom meant for Kings! Even a high-grade Duke would appear fragile and powerless before them.
"These are good treasures. It would be great if they truly belonged to me." Li Luo sighed in his heart. High-grade Mythic Armaments were precious, and five that belonged to a specific set had a value beyond estimation. Even within the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li, they were incomparable treasures. If he could casually wield them, Li Luo's strength would reach a frightening level.
It was a pity that these treasures belonged to the Five Guardian Armies. Even as the Grand Guardian General, he would only be able to wield their power during a critical moment; he was not allowed to use them as he wished. With all five Mythic Armaments equipped, the surroundings of the battle platform erupted into incredible fanfare. This battle had opened their eyes.
Li Luo had single-handedly overcome four fifth-grade Dukes. Such a battle record was truly deserving of the most well-known individual of the younger generation.
The Dragon's Fang Guardians were so excited that their shouts echoed through the skies.
At the elevated viewing platform, Li Tianji helplessly sighed when he saw the result. He had tried his best to plan a way for Li Zhihuo to obtain the position of Grand Guardian General. Alas, his schemes had fallen apart in the face of true strength. In the end, he hadn't been able to change anything. The position of Grand Guardian General was now in the hands of the Dragon's Fang Lineage. His mind was filled with countless thoughts, but his expression betrayed none of it, instead, he smiled at Tantai Lan. "Congratulations, Lineage Chief Tantai."
Tantai Lan's mood wasn't bad either and thus, even though she knew that his words didn't match his thoughts, she replied, "I'd like to ask you to announce the results, Lineage Chief Tianji."
Li Tianji nodded and stood up, his elderly voice transmitting into everyone's ears.
"The battle for the Grand Guardian General ends here. Li Luo has retrieved all five Mythic Armaments, achieving the greatest result, and is now the new Grand Guardian General!"
As his voice resounded, the Dragon's Fang Guardians exploded into endless cheers, their emotional voices overwhelmingly loud. "Congratulations, Grand Guardian General!"
The other four Guardian Armies fell silent for a moment before similarly cheering as well.
"Congratulations, Grand Guardian General!"
Even the elders of the lineages shouted.
A true leader of the Five Guardian Armies had finally arisen.
