Chapter 1469: Ancient Bronze Lamp's Fluctuations

When the pocket sphere first showed signs of change, Li Luo immediately probed it to find the source. The bronze lamp was rusty and ancient patterns were engraved on it, giving it a special charm.

"Void Resonance's Six Sons, w.a.n.g Taixi..." Li Luo was reminded of the strange Lantern Bearer he had encountered in the Spiritual Resonance Cave. He was the reason why Li Luo survived.

The only thing was that w.a.n.g Taixi was just an afterimage of sorts in the beginning. After giving Li Luo the Golden Holy Fire Talisman in the Spiritual Resonance Cave, he dissipated into smoke, leaving behind this lamp with an unknown use. After researching the item for a period of time, no matter what he did, he was unable to light the lamp like an ordinary one. There weren't any subsequent energy reactions coming from it either, so he ended up unable to reveal its mysteries. Thus, Li Luo had no choice but to give up and leave it within his pocket sphere. However, what he found surprising was that the supposedly defunct bronze lamp had actually shown signs of change here!

Li Luo examined the lamp and noticed that what had triggered the change was none other than the Celestial Mirror Sand!

"The Celestial Mirror Sand?" Li Luo was a little surprised. He could sense that the lamp was emitting a small suction force, attempting to absorb the Celestial Mirror Sand. Alas, the suction force was so weak that it could not even break through the thin layer of resonant power wrapped around it. Clearly, the lamp needed the Celestial Mirror Sand to operate.

Perhaps some sort of wondrous change would occur if he gave Celestial Mirror Sand to the lamp.

After all, this was an object that w.a.n.g Taixi had protected even after his death! Just his t.i.tle alone, one of the Void Resonance's Six Sons, sounded beyond impressive, and it clearly meant that his position within the sect wasn't ordinary. Could he have been a King? Perhaps only such an existence was capable of leaving behind a spiritual remnant after so many years.

Just what sort of change would take place once the lamp absorbed some Celestial Mirror Sand?

However, the Celestial Mirror Sand was incredibly valuable, so he couldn't casually use it up like that. After all, he needed it for the Sand Seizing Battles!

At the same time, it didn't seem like a good idea to completely ignore the changes to the lamp. After all, Li Luo was also interested in the Void Resonance's Six Sons, and there was a chance that the lamp was the key to explaining more. The Sacred Void Resonance Sect was a behemoth that dominated an entire era, and any relics that had lasted till now was likely an amazing item. Thus, after pondering things for a moment, he clenched his teeth and decided to place one grain of Celestial Mirror Sand into the lamp and see what would happen. If there was no reaction, he would temporarily give up on the idea. After all, the eighteen grains he had belonged to the squad as a whole, so he couldn't just waste them.

At the very least, he would wait till the Sand Seizing Battles ended before testing things out. With this in mind, he first sent a single grain of Celestial Mirror Sand towards the lamp. The grain, which shone radiantly like a star, slowly fell into the lamp.

Li Luo watched the entire thing with bated breath.

When the sand entered the lamp, its radiance began to dim with shocking speed, eventually turning into a puff of smoke that quickly vanished.

The ancient lamp remained utterly silent.

Li Luo was stunned.

That was it?

He felt his heart bleeding. That was a heaven-defying object! A grain of Celestial Mirror Sand! Countless sage colleges had done their utmost to compete over a fraction of a grain! A single grain was enough for all of them to absorb for a month! After throwing it into the lamp, it had disappeared without even a single reaction? Emotional pain ran through Li Luo’s heart. He would forget about all this. This plaything was something he couldn't afford! Celestial Mirror Sand was incredibly precious, and he couldn't waste too much of it with an unclear payoff.

If anyone else knew of what he had done, he would likely be scolded and hara.s.sed, to the extent that even his family was involved. Just as Li Luo was about to compartmentalize this pain and move on, the ancient bronze lamp seemed to have sensed his determination to leave and ignore it, and it suddenly vibrated. "Oh?" His attention was turned back onto the lamp with some curiosity. ŗ?Ɲô฿ΕS

A golden spark emerged in the center of the lamp. It was incredibly weak, but it gradually turned brighter.

In just a few short breaths, the golden spark turned into a bean-sized golden flame.

Although the flame was small, it was capable of lighting up the lamp.

After which, Li Luo saw a golden smoke slowly rise from the flames. The smoke seemed almost solid, and an ancient chime could be heard coming from it. The chiming noise directly filled Li Luo's mind and caused it to become incomparably clear and relaxed. The golden smoke had escaped from the pocket sphere and directly entered his body. He entered a state of great understanding and could sense that some of the previously hidden injuries that had been caused as a result of the backlash were now swiftly mending, ensuring that he was completely healed. His entire being had returned to its peak.

However, that was not all.

As the golden smoke entered his body, he could sense all four of his resonant palaces giving out cries of happiness. They were like starving individuals who were suddenly placed before a table full of delicacies. The four resonant palaces couldn't control themselves as they greedily devoured the wisps of golden smoke. When the smoke entered the resonant palaces, Li Luo was shocked to realize that it fused with the resonant power and caused his resonant power to rise at an astonis.h.i.+ng rate. Even his Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfrieds absorbed some of the mysterious smoke!

The Duke Bergfrieds began to strengthen at an alarming pace. At the same time, the resonance runes engraved upon them became brighter and clearer. This was the sign of his Duke Bergfrieds becoming stronger. In just a short period of time, his resonant power had risen by an entire sub stage and he was quickly approaching the upper Second Duke Stage. This would have normally taken a significant period of bitter cultivation and acc.u.mulation!

However, in just the time needed for half an incense stick to burn, he had achieved a similar result!

Furthermore, this rapid growth in resonant power was not unstable by any means. The immense energy contained within the golden smoke was exceptionally pure.

"This is the energy contained within the Celestial Mirror Sand! However, the ancient lamp is capable of converting it into a much more effective form, the golden smoke! This is an incredible cultivation resource! Simply speaking, the lamp can be used to strengthen oneself!"

Li Luo's heart was filled with shock and then joy. If the ancient lamp was capable of this, then wouldn't he be able to obtain the perfect breakthrough he was looking for? However, the difficulty of attaining a perfect breakthrough was simply too high. Obtaining forty grains of Celestial Mirror Sand was just the start. There were people in history who had managed to scrounge up that amount yet still failed to do so!

That said, with the a.s.sistance of the ancient bronze lamp, the odds of him succeeding had skyrocketed.

If there was enough golden smoke, couldn't he just release it out into the open so it could benefit Jiang Qing'e, Lu Qing'er, Li Hongyou, and the rest? His thoughts were flying all over the place, and it took quite a while before he recomposed himself.

He then absorbed the last of the golden smoke. When he looked at the ancient lamp again, he noticed that the small flame had dissipated. Clearly, the requirement to activate the lamp was none other than to use Celestial Mirror Sand as fuel. That said, it seemed to be completely worth it.

"Perhaps I can use the power of the ancient lamp to break into the upper Second Duke Stage before the Sand Seizing Battles. After they conclude, I can truly enter the Third Duke Stage! At that point, I will have the confidence to do well even in the Celestial Mirror Martial Exchange. Then my chances of finding the Greater Acquired Resonance G.o.dly Forging Art will be higher." Li Luo's heart surged as he exited his state of cultivation with glee.
