Chapter 646

“Master, it failed! The strange energy inside that woman canceled out my mind control!” Ebony Maw said as he lowered his head in respect before his master. The Mad t.i.tan sat on his throne as he caressed the bandage wrapped around his chest and remained silent for a while. The silence was horrifying as the killing intent of the Mad t.i.tan permeated the area. He had not suffered any injuries in such a long time that he was trying hard to control his emotion now. 

In truth, Carol’s punch was the one that gave Thanos his injuries as it was powerful enough to penetrate Thanos’ unbelievable thick skin. If Carol weren’t exhausted at that moment, Thanos might suffer more injuries than he had now. It was truly a miracle that some amazing fighter still existed on that small tourist planet!

For his failed invasion on the tourist planet, his battles.h.i.+p was badly damaged, Black Dward was beaten up badly that he almost died. Even Corvus Glaive lost one of his arms! But it was thanks to his Black Order that Thanos could subdue the woman without any more hustle than it could be! The woman who replaced Super Giant position on the Black Order played a role here as Thanos suspected that the strange woman that impeded his invasion had something to do with her. But nonetheless, it was a thought for another time!

“It’s alright for now. Just don’t let her die yet. The bounty hunter that took the Power Gem with him still didn’t show up on that planet. I suspect that he had something to do with that woman, and with that in mind, we have his allies with us right now! Once we got the Power Gem, kill her immediately!” Thanos ordered coldly.

“Yes, master!” Ebony Maw said respectfully.

“Where is Black Crystal right now?” Thanos asked coldly.

“She is on her way to Earth, Master! She said that she wants to bring back the Mind Gem for you, master!” Ebony Maw answered respectfully.

“I see, that is interesting!” Thanos spoke while holding his chin.

“Would you like to send someone to watch her, master? She didn’t surrender to you out of her own free will! If she took hold of another Infinity Gem, I am afraid she might revolt against you!” Ebony Maw said as he explained his worry. 

“No, let her be! I want to see what she will do next. If she really does get ahold of the Infinity Stone for herself, it would be fine by me too!” Thanos confidently said as he smirked in triumph. It was already within his calculation that Black Crystal, the woman that replaced Super Giant, wouldn’t bow down entirely to him in the future! 

The Black Order under his command wasn’t exactly loyal either. Ebony Maw surely seemed like the most loyal one out of all, but he had already betrayed so many people to attain his current position! Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight were basically one as they were partners, but they too have betrayed so many before taking their oath to serve Thanos! 

It wouldn’t be a surprise if these people betrayed him too someday! They would do anything in their power in order to survive in this cruel universe! It was just Thanos hadn’t given them any chance to betray him as he put a tight leash on their life! 

If one day he did fail to keep them on the leash, it would be the day everyone would desert him like a piece of tras.h.!.+ 

But suddenly, they were interrupted by a loud explosion somewhere on the s.h.i.+p!

“Go and see what happened!” Thanos ordered Ebony Maw.

“Right away, Master!” Ebony Maw said respectfully. He immediately retreated and headed towards the explosion as he opened the communication and began to ask for a report from the soldiers. As the report entered Ebony Maw’s ear, he immediately frowned as they had an intruder on the s.h.i.+p! He didn’t know who it was that was brave enough to attack the Annihilation s.h.i.+p that Thanos commanded. 

Was it the remnant of the Nova Corps? Or was it someone else entirely? Ebony Maw immediately flew towards the explosion with haste. He also informed Corvus Glaive to head over to the explosion as well so that the invader wouldn’t have any chance of escape. Although it was a shame that Corvus Glaive had lost so much combat potential as he lost his arm earlier!

10 minutes before the explosion …

Ebony Maw left Carol’s cell, and it didn’t take long after he left that a small wormhole opened on Carol’s cell, and a figure walked out in tatters as she was wounded quite badly. If Dio were there, then he would instantly recognize that the item that this figure used to travel here was none other than the Cube! 

This figure’s appearance itself was a big surprise to Dio if he was there as this person was supposed to be dead! She was supposed to be killed by The Flame Giant, Surtur! In fact, she was indeed killed by Surtur as soon as Surtur’s Twilight Sword penetrated and burned her body. She knew that Asgard was lost, and so, she has set up her next revival to be a place where she hid the Cube! It was the only item on Asgard’s Treasure Vault that caught her attention. 

After experimenting with it before, she found a place that could be used as her next resurrection point and put the Cube there. She put some of her essences on the Cube, and so, with the destruction of Asgard, she had one last chance of revival! 

She was teleported randomly as she didn’t have any specific place to go to after her resurrection. But she didn’t expect that the Cube would take her to such an unfamiliar location! Hela began to look at her surroundings and finally set her eyes on the woman that was locked and nailed to a pillar. 

She was surprised when she looked at the woman closely as she felt the same energy similar to the energy within the Cube!
