Krane and everyone else in the Azure State was shocked and speechless as they saw a pillar of azure lightning fall from the sky with a power even greater than the sphere of revolving energy.

Many of them could not help but think that if the lightning pillar had appeared before, they would not have needed to rely on the help of the masked duo.

People then turned to the sky only to see a young man in a sky-blue robe and a white crown on his head calmly descending. He had short black hair and appeared no more than twenty years old, with azure eyes and a small sword in his right hand.

Not only was his appearance formidable, but the young man unleashed an aura that seemed to cover the sky and expand without an end.

Krane's eyes widened as he realized the ident.i.ty of the man. The newcomer was none other than the leader of the Azure Royal Family, a Divine Ascension Master, a true powerhouse of the world!

Despite the immense difference between their powers, Krane could not help but clench his fists and stare at this one with rage. That lightning strike was more than powerful enough to vaporize an Apotheosis Realm Master, so despite the lingering lightning clouding his sight, there was no way Cain was still alive.

The young man in the sky glanced at the lightning flooding the earth before turning toward Krane, locking eyes with him.

"You have done a good service by protecting the infrastructure of the Azure State. If you are willing to resume your ident.i.ty as a member of the underworld, I would gladly take you in."

Krane felt a crus.h.i.+ng pressure along with those words and knew what would happen if he said no, but there was no fear in his eyes as he looked at the Azure King with loathing and disdain.

"As if I would ever align myself with a coward that killed my friend."

While it was true that Krane's relations.h.i.+p with Cain started as one of a servant, it evolved into something much deeper, one of mutual respect and friends.h.i.+p. While Krane did not want to die, he was willing to do it if it meant keeping his honor.

The Azure King stared at Krane with no emotion and simply nodded as Azure Lightning charged his sword again. While he would have liked to have a future Apotheosis Realm Master in his ranks, the Azure King would not waste his time trying to change Krane's mind.

For a Divine Ascension Master like the Azure King, it would only take a swing of his sword to kill a Wave King, no matter how strong they are. He raised his sword, and while they were thousands of meters apart, it did not matter.

Just as the Azure King was about to end Krane's life, a red force field blasted into the sky, dispersing the azure lightning on the ground. It was so powerful that it managed to rise all the way to the highest heaven of the Gaia Continent!

The Azure King and Krane were both shocked and taken by surprise by the blast, and they could see that right in the center of it was Cain holding the body of the young boy. Both of them were intact despite the ground around them having been crystallized by the lightning.

The Azure King could not believe what his eyes were showing him, as it was simply impossible.
