Sorry for the delay in updating IMG. I planned to resume regular updates in September, but more work and personal matters came up. This means a slow/irregular updates for the rest of the year.
I’m committed to both SABL & IMG though!

Ludwig and Iman were delayed by the cliff for a while, and fell further behind Luo Fei and Mo Han.
Ludwig quickened his pace, wanting to keep up with the other two, but Iman was not in a hurry. He wanted to keep their distance from Luo Fei and Mo Han and spend more alone time with Ludwig.
At this time, Luo Fei and Mo Han had already arrived halfway up the mountain. In front of them was an extremely dangerous cliff.
The slope up the mountain isn’t too steep, however, the path runs along the cliffside, meaning that there’s a stone wall on one side and nothing on the other.
The drop down is extremely far, and people with fear of heights will feel weak just looking down. What’s more, this part of the trail is rugged, and it’s easy to fall down at a moment of inattention and be smashed to pieces.
The strategy previous mountaineers used is to lean against the rock wall and move slowly laterally. It’s best to fix one end of the rope on the rock wall in front, and tie the other end to one’s waist to avoid falling off the cliff in the case of an accident.
Mo Han made preparations. Back pressed against the stone wall, he began to move slowly.
Luo Fei followed behind him without using the rope. He strapped the mountaineering bag on his chest, moving with his back against the stone wall step by step.
With a cliff at their feet, it’s very easy to fall without any fixed measures.
Mo Han glanced at him and said, “It’s very dangerous for you to do this.”
“It’s okay, in training we had to scale a high-alt.i.tude single-plank bridge which is much more dangerous than this.” Luo Fei replied.
Mo Han frowned. “Either way, be careful.”
Luo Fei looked at him sideways, and asked with a smile, “Are you worried about me?”
Mo Han: “…”
Too lazy to answer him, Mo Han closed his eyes and concentrated on looking forward.
In fact, it’s not so scary if one can ignore the cliff and treat it as a normal trail.
Leaning against the stone wall and moving slowly, as long as one steps firmly and accurately, they won’t fall off. Most accidents were those with people who were ill-prepared. The moment they saw the cliff, their legs weakened, and the more they thought about it, the more afraid they became.
Mo Han’s psychological quality is very strong. He just closed his eyes for a few seconds to adjust. Completely ignoring the cliff, he focused all his attention on his feet, and slowly moved forward.
Luo Fei watched him move steadily for a certain distance, and finally heaved a sigh of relief.
For Luo Fei, this kind of test is nothing. During their special training, when surviving in the wild, they had to walk across a single-plank bridge. The bridge was made of tree trunks and could only accommodate a pair of adult feet. It was much narrower than this. Although the bridge wasn’t by a cliff, there was a furious waterfall underneath, and those that fell will be seriously injured. Not only must they overcome their psychological fear, they have to keep their eyes on the front, and maintain balance in order to pa.s.s.
Right now they have the stone wall to support them, affording a sense of security, which is much simpler than the single-plank bridge back then.
Luo Fei quickly caught up with Mo Han. Even if they were competing, Luo Fei didn’t want to pa.s.s Mo Han in front of him. After all, Mo Han’s safety was more important than winning or losing. So Luo Fei chose to follow behind Mo Han to ensure that he could pa.s.s this section of the cliff smoothly.
The cliff was about one kilometer. Moving slowly, it took the two of them about half an hour to finally finish this section.
Mo Han breathed a long sigh of relief. He had been tense for half an hour. He was not too tired physically, but he was a little tired mentally. The cliff is really scary.
Luo Fei walked over, took out a bottle of water from his backpack, and handed it to Mo Han with a smile. “Drink some water.”
Mo Han sat on the rock next to him, took a sip of water, and said, “Aren’t we competing? I don’t plan to leave immediately, you can take this opportunity to overtake me.”
Luo Fei smiled and said, “It’s okay, I will overtake you at the end. Let’s rest first and recharge.”
He quickly took out boxes of food from the mountaineering bag, including canned beef, compressed military biscuits, and dried fruit. Luo Fei clearly used the skills from field survival training. The food prepared is easy to carry and can quickly replenish physical strength.
Mo Han also took out some food from his backpack, and the two of them used the big rock as a temporary table for their food, and had lunch.
Luo Fei opened a can, opened another pack of biscuits and handed it to Mo Han. “Try it, soldiers eat this often when we go out to perform missions.”
Mo Han tasted a few mouthfuls and commented: “The beef is okay, but the biscuits are tasteless.”
Luo Fei smiled: “The conditions out there are tough, so taste isn’t the most important thing. The taste of compressed biscuits is indeed not very good, but they are rich in nutrition. The calories contained in a single biscuit are comparable to a large bowl of noodles.”
Seeing him smiling and eating canned food and biscuits with a satisfied expression on his face, Mo Han couldn’t help wondering: “You are a prince, can you get used to eating these things?”
Luo Fei said: “I’m not a picky eater, I can eat whatever I have.”
Mo Han didn’t ask any further. Luo Fei didn’t have the airs of a prince at all, and has become more and more like a soldier after entering the military academy.
***
After a brief lunch, the two started off again.
The next section isn’t as dangerous, but it is much steeper. Also because of the rain and dew in the deep mountains, the ground is wet and slippery, and it is easy to fall, so they can’t relax yet.
The path is about 1.5 meters wide, so Luo Fei can easily overtake Mo Han.
But what was strange to Mo Han was that Luo Fei still did not overtake him; instead, he followed closely behind.
At this point, Mo Han had to admit that no matter how smart an omega is, he still can’t compare with powerful alphas in terms of physical strength. Due to his training, his strength and endurance can exceed the average alpha, but against those alphas like Luo Fei who have also undergone training, he is still weaker. What’s more, Luo Fei has received special military training, meaning that he has to undergo field survival training. Today’s expedition is nothing to him at all.
He didn’t even use a safety rope on such a dangerous cliff just now, and simply finished it with steady steps. He didn’t blush or pant, and maintained his calm. What’s more, the current mountain road is getting steeper and the ground is slippery – isn’t it easy to pa.s.s him?
That being the case, why doesn’t he pa.s.s himself?
Mo Han looked back at Luo Fei, and said indifferently: “Since we’re competing, you don’t have to go easy. I’m not someone who can’t afford to lose.”
Luo Fei raised his head and said seriously: “I will pa.s.s you in the end.”
Mo Han wondered, “Why? Does it give you a sense of accomplishment to beat me at the last moment?”
Luo Fei smiled and said, “Of course not. I’m following you just in case, so if something happens to you, I can protect you at any time.”
Mo Han stared blankly, his heart skipping a beat when he saw Luo Fei’s tender gaze.
So Luo Fei followed him because he’s worried that something will happen to him, and wants to protect him? It’s not that he doesn’t want to surpa.s.s him, but that his safety is more important.
Just as he was thinking, Mo Han’s foot suddenly slipped!
Luo Fei took a breath, and immediately stretched out his arms, and took him firmly in his arms.
However, this section of the path was too slippery, and the force of Mo Han’s fall was too strong. Luo Fei couldn’t stabilize his feet, and the momentum brought him down as well. The two hugged each other and rolled all the way to the bottom of the steep slope. Luo Fei grasped a tree trunk with his sharp eyesight, and finally slowed down the momentum of the fall.
Mo Han looked down, and saw that he was lying on Luo Fei’s body.
There was a similar encounter in the game, but at that time, Mr. F was using a system default face.
But now, seeing Luo Fei’s real face and the tips of their nose almost touching, he can feel the brush of air against his face with each breath… If they close the short five centimeter gap, their lips will kiss. Mo Han could even clearly see Luo Fei’s thick eyelashes and the pair of deep and gentle eyes under the eyelashes.
At that moment, his heart almost jumped out of his chest.
I was wondering why this chapter took so long to translate… it’s 2x as long.
