Even the Guardian Commandant was refused entry when he came to investigate personally. We are merely a few embroidered-uniform guards; we don’t even qualify to step inside the Imperial Advisor's Hall!”

The embroidered-uniform guards asked, “What should we do then?”

The Crown Prince pushed open the carriage window and addressed the disciple, “I wish to see your Imperial Advisor.”

The disciple quickly went to deliver the message.

Before long, the Imperial Advisor appeared, walking out with calm composure. Beside him was Ye Qing holding an umbrella.

“Your Highness the Crown Prince.” The Imperial Advisor greeted calmly.

The Crown Prince remained seated in his carriage, his gaze falling on the Imperial Advisor’s stern and distinguished face. He had seen the Imperial Advisor in his youth, a man whose looks rivaled even those of Duke An.

Time had pa.s.sed, and the years had left their marks.

The Imperial Advisor’s face now bore the traces of age and hards.h.i.+p.

Rainy days often made one more sentimental, and the Crown Prince couldn’t help but wonder what thoughts the Imperial Advisor might be having.

Shaking off his musings, the Crown Prince addressed the Imperial Advisor, “To be frank, a traitorous a.s.sa.s.sin from my residence has fled, and my embroidered-uniform guards saw him enter your Imperial Advisor's Hall.”

Ye Qing responded, “Understood.”

“Wait!” the Crown Prince interrupted in a deep voice. “This prince will conduct the search myself!”

Ye Qing, unflinching, replied, “Your Highness, this is the Imperial Advisor's Hall, not the Crown Prince Estate.”

The implication was clear: you do not have the authority to search here.

The Crown Prince did not look at Ye Qing, but instead fixed his intense gaze on the Imperial Advisor. "What if this prince insists on searching today?"

Their eyes met, and the Crown Prince’s gaze was filled with a domineering and murderous intent.

His determination was unwavering—whether by force or persuasion, the search would happen.

Even if it meant tearing apart the facade and facing reprimands from his imperial father for disrespecting the Imperial Advisor, he would do whatever it took to drag Long Aotian out!

In the end, the Imperial Advisor relented and said, "Ye Qing, take His Highness the Crown Prince to search."

The Crown Prince arrogantly declared, "There’s no need. This prince will conduct the search myself!"

The Crown Prince stepped out of the carriage.

A guard by his side opened an umbrella for him.

The Imperial Advisor and Ye Qing stepped aside, allowing the Crown Prince to walk past them, his embroidered-uniform guards following him with an air of authority as they pa.s.sed the master and disciple.

Gu Changqing had sustained serious injuries, and under normal circ.u.mstances, there would have been traces of blood along the way. Unfortunately, the heavy rain had washed away all evidence on the ground.
