Eight years ago, on a winter night, during New Year’s Eve.

After finding out her scores for the final exams of the first semester of her senior year, Bai Xunyin eagerly went to the abandoned teaching building to find Yu Luoyin. She wanted to tell the man the fact that her physics score this time was better than his.

On the third day of the new year, when they returned to Linlan, Bai Xunyin helped Ji Huiying clean up her home, which had acc.u.mulated a layer of fine dust in the past few days, and then they went to the hospital. They had been worried about Bai Hongsheng in the hospital for three or four days.

The man’s physical condition was still stable and calm, with his pale face and closed eyes, motionless and lifeless… but they were used to it long ago.

Watching Ji Huiying gently wipe the man’s hands and face with a gentle smile, Bai Xunyin’s phone in her pocket vibrated.

The girl picked it up and looked down, feeling a little startled.

The hand hanging by Bai Xunyin’s side couldn’t help but shrink back, and she felt her neck wrapped in the scarf become somewhat warm.

He smiled and asked, “When did you come back?”
