89 It’s Destined That Only One of Us Will Live

Su Ying shook her head. “I just feel that there’s something not quite right with my body. I’m going to the outhouse.”

“Let Bai Shuang accompany you.” Xiao Jin was afraid that she would collapse like yesterday.

Su Ying shook her head. “No need. It was an accident yesterday. I’m fine now that I’m awake.”

After she finished speaking, she lifted the blanket on her body, put on her dress, and walked out of the house.

When the people working in the courtyard saw Su Ying walking out of the house, they all stared at her.

“Mistress, why are you up? You haven’t recovered from your injuries yet. You should go back to your room and rest. Let us do these things,” Tian Mu said somewhat worriedly when he saw Su Ying.

A strange look flashed across the eyes of the mercenaries and the bandits. Perhaps they hoped that Su Ying would never be able to stand up again, but they were also worried that if she really died, they would be buried with her as funeral offerings.

“Don’t worry. I won’t die.”

When Lin Zhuyu heard the noise, she hurriedly ran over to help Su Ying diligently. She said with a pained expression, “Mistress, you have to be careful. Where are you going? I’ll help you.”

Su Ying pushed her hand away in disgust. “I’m not a cripple. Go do what you should be doing. I’m going to the outhouse.”

“Then let me quickly clean up the outhouse!” Lin Zhuyu turned around and ran to the backyard.

Su Ying’s eyebrows twitched. She didn’t know why Lin Zhuyu was so enthusiastic.

When Su Ying reached the outhouse, Lin Zhuyu had already cleaned it thoroughly.

“Mistress, please go in. I’ll be waiting outside the door at your service.”

“Get lost!”

“Alright. I will get lost quickly now.”

Su Ying only entered the outhouse and locked the door after she saw that Lin Zhuyu had disappeared.

After making sure there was no one else, Su Ying entered the treatment room in the interspatial store.

She felt that ordinary poisons couldn’t possibly overcome the effects of the poison-blocking drug. The reason she suddenly fainted was definitely not because of the poison in the wound.

Su Ying took out the syringe and drew some blood. Then, she used the equipment to run some tests. Next, she opened the wound and took a sample for testing.

However, just as she was taking a sample, she felt something wriggling in the wound. She immediately picked up the tweezers and plucked that thing out.

Su Ying took a closer look. It was a bug. She compared it to the sample she had taken from Deaf Granny’s place. The bug from the wound was identical to the sample!

Su Ying placed the sample on the scanner and allowed the machine to scan it to see if it could get any information.

However, even after scanning it a few times, the machine could not identify it. There was no record of this thing in the system.

Su Ying felt that the bug was trying to destroy her body after entering it, but because her body was under the protection of the poison-blocking drug, the bug didn’t succeed and was forced out by the drug.

It was likely that in the fight between the drug and the bug, her body experienced changes that caused her to faint.

She thought that the possibility of this was still relatively high.

After thinking it through, Su Ying took the antidotes and anti-inflammatory stimpak from the shelf and gave herself an injection. She then bandaged her wound again before leaving the interspatial store.

When Su Ying came out of the outhouse, she saw Lin Zhuyu standing outside the door with a basin.

Su Ying’s eyes twitched. “What are you doing now?”

“This is the hand wash I prepared for Mistress.”

Su Ying didn’t appreciate it at all. “If you have so much free time, go to the front and help.”

Lin Zhuyu was a little disappointed that Su Ying despised her, but she quickly put on a proud front and said, “Uncle Hea has just made some porridge for Mistress. I’ll go get it for you now.”

With that, she ran off again.

Su Ying didn’t know what to say. As soon as she sat down in her room, Lin Zhuyu came in with a bowl of hot porridge.

“Mistress, eat it while it’s hot. Uncle Hea has cooked a big pot for you. It’s definitely enough!”

This meat was the wild boar that Uncle Hea had saved previously. He had rubbed salt on the boar meat and dried it. Every day, he would cut a little bit off to cook. However, because of the limited amount of boar meat, he didn’t dare to put too much into his cooking.

However, today, the porridge he made for Su Ying was filled with meat.

Su Ying felt an indescribable warmth in her heart when she saw that everyone was concerned about her in their own way. “Lin Zhuyu, I won’t die. Don’t worry.”

Lin Zhuyu’s smiling face fell, and her eyes turned red-rimmed.

She rubbed her hands. The back of her hand still hurt.

When Su Ying suddenly collapsed, she immediately reacted and lunged toward Su Ying. She stretched her hand to s.h.i.+eld Su Ying’s forehead to prevent her head from hitting the wooden board. However, because the weight was too much, her hand became swollen. However, she did not regret it.

Although Mistress was very scary when she was angry, she had helped them a lot, so they all hoped that Mistress could live well.

“Mistress, you must take care of yourself.”

“Don’t put on that expression. People who don’t know might think I’m going to die.”

“It is said that the scourge lives for a thousand years. You won’t die so easily, Mistress.”

Su Ying thought inwardly, “Well, thanks a lot.”

After eating, Xiao Jin asked Su Ying to go back to bed and rest.

“How did you get this injury?” Xiao Jin asked. She wasn’t injured when she was fighting those bandits.

“Do you still remember the old woman who pointed out the location of this plot of land to us when we first arrived at the Tiger Base?” Su Ying asked.

Xiao Jin nodded. “I remember.”

“I went to check on the situation that night when the wooden building was burned down. I saw a dark shadow sneaking out of it, so I went after it. Just as I was about to catch up, the old woman suddenly appeared in the middle of the night and blocked my way.”

“There’s a problem with her.”

“Mm-hmm. I suspected that they were in cahoots at that time. Yesterday, these bandits suddenly came to kill us, and after asking, I found out that they were also directed here by that old woman.”

“She’s going against us.”

Su Ying frowned and said, “It’s very likely that they burned the wooden building to destroy something because I ruined their plan. However, they still felt that we were a threat and wanted to destroy us. So, I went to look for that old woman yesterday and took her life outright.”

Xiao Jin said after a moment of silence. “It was that old woman who injured you.”

“Mm-hmm. But I fainted not because of the injury on my arm, but because of this.” Su Ying took out a bag of dead bugs and showed it to Xiao Jin.

Xiao Jin looked at the insects and felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity. “Perhaps Chu Yun knows what these are.”

“That old woman’s name is Deaf Granny. I killed her to lure out the mastermind behind them. With such forces of darkness lurking in the Tiger Base, we will always be in danger.”

“So you want to lure them out and catch them all in one fell swoop?”

Su Ying nodded. She had said that she would definitely find a safe place for Xiao Jin and the others to settle down. How could she allow such a dark and evil faction to exist? Moreover, ever since the incident with Bai Shuang, they had already become enemies. It was destined that only one of them would survive.

The only thing she could do was destroy them!
