Chapter 2301 Little Schemer

Dyon took another step forward and the greyish black land beneath him moved once again, gliding along with his gait.

"Big brother, hold on."

The First White Mother's words caused Dyon's steps to pause. Why was this mischievous little girl causing trouble again? Couldn't she tell how time sensitive this situation was? Maybe it was only Dyon who could refer to the First White Mother as a little girl.

Dyon, though, still looked over to see what this little sister of his wanted. Who asked him to be such a doting elder brother?

"… Do you really not know why Gilpin hated you so much?"

Dyon was speechless. She was asking this question now despite the situation? Was she trying to give these Immortal G.o.ds an opportunity to escape?

Dyon sighed. "I didn't know before, but I know now. I saw his memories after I used [Devour] on him."

"Oo? Tell me, tell me."

The visages of the Immortal G.o.ds were unsightly at this point. This kind of blatant disrespect was something they hadn't experienced in their lifetimes. Even being directly killed was better than this. It was only now they understood why it was that so many had such a deep hatred for Dyon. Was it even possible to not hate such an infuriating man?

However, in this regard, Dyon truly was innocent. If it wasn't for his little sister wanting to get them back for bullying her earlier, they wouldn't have to suffer such humiliation at all.

Dyon smiled and shook his head.

"It's the kind of story you just don't tell. It's too much." Dyon said.

The First White Mother pulled on his arm, unsatisfied with this answer.

"I want to know, don't leave me in the dark."

"Don't say I didn't warn you." Dyon chuckled. "In his youth, Gilpin – I think his name was – fell in love with the Elven Ancestor. Unfortunately for him, even though he was high born, he obviously had no right to covet such a woman, so he buried it deep within his heart. He is angry with me because that annoying lady fell for me."

The First White Mother blinked in confusion. "Is that really so bad? Why did you say you couldn't tell such a story? And is that really enough for such bone deep hatred?"

"Well, that was just the first layer of the story. The other reason is that I may or may not have rejected the old hag quite publicly."

Dyon rubbed his nose a bit, remembering a memory he apparently found quite funny. If those of the Elven Hegemon knew that Dyon was laughing about that event, it was unknown how many mouthfuls of blood they would cough up in anger.

Back then, Dyon's actions caused the Elven Hegemon to all but declare war on him. For the sake of their face, they were almost willing to lay down the lives of all their people just to take Dyon's. It was less accurate to say that Dyon rejected the Elven Ancestor publicly, and much more accurate to say that he completely humiliated her.

"Oh? So he was so enraged because you humiliated the woman he loved? That makes a little more sense, but it still sounds like something is missing."

Dyon coughed a bit uncomfortably. Seeing such a scene, the First White Mother couldn't help but get all the more curious. Such a face was especially rare for her big brother.

"He was mostly enraged due to the reason I rejected her." Dyon continued with an innocent expression. "She wanted me to be her man, yet she wasn't a virgin. When she kept pressing after I wanted to save her face, I just directly pointed out some of her descendants who had been present at the time."

"Ah, I see…" The First White Mother giggled. But, she still felt like she was missing something.

The purity of a woman was indeed important on the Immortal Plane. However, Immortal G.o.ds lived by different rules. They had such long lives, so how could all female Immortal G.o.ds claim to be pure? Usually, they were so powerful that others couldn't even check to see whether or not they were still virgins.

Usually, in the relations.h.i.+ps between Immortal G.o.ds, no one cared about how many previous partners one had had. Who could live such long lives without companions.h.i.+p? That would only lead to insanity.

Dyon directly rejecting the Elven Ancestor in a public setting due to her not being a virgin could be considered to be a humiliating thing, because no one was privy to the world of Immortal G.o.ds except for Immortal G.o.ds.

It was definitely enough for Gilpin to be enraged in place of the Elven Ancestor. In fact, he didn't necessarily need to love her at all to feel this rage. It was likely that any elf present at the time would have hated Dyon to the bones.

But, the First White Mother still felt like she was missing something.

"… Wait…" The First White Mother's expression changed. "… You said you pointed out some of her descendants who had been present? You can't mean?"

Dyon looked off into the distance as though he couldn't hear a single thing. He pretended not to see the weird expressions of the Immortal G.o.ds who had just been cowering in fear either.

Suddenly, the First White Mother couldn't hold her belly full of laughter.

"HAHA! Gilpin was in love with his own great great great grandmother and didn't even know! HAHA! No wonder he hates you so much! HAHA!"

Dyon rubbed his nose. How was any of this his fault? Who asked that old hag to try to hound him in public?

Though he explained things so simply, he really had formed an irreconcilable enmity with the Elven Ancestor that day. After all, he called her 'used goods' and 'old hag' right to her face. Then when she denied it, he directly pointed out the descendants of hers who had been in the very room.

Unfortunately for Gilpin, he had been among that number and suffered a great mental blow. Instead of turning his hatred toward the Elven Ancestor for keeping such a secret so that she could keep up her façade of purity, he turned all his hatred toward Dyon. In the blink of an eye, love he had fostered for millennia became bone deep hatred.

It was also no wonder Dyon didn't remember Gilpin. That day, he had just casually pointed him out amidst a crowd. Who knew such an action would have such results?

"Alright, alright. That's enough. Master is still holding back because these people haven't evacuated. If things continue like this, the consequences would be pretty bad."

"Big brother, leave them to me." The First White Mother suddenly said. "You go help master."

Dyon raised an eyebrow. To now, he had only taken out one of them, was it really appropriate to leave the rest to her?

"Just have Big Sister Saru and Big Sister Lilith stay and help me."

Hearing this, Dyon sighed. Those girls would probably be p.i.s.sed at him if he really didn't allow them to partic.i.p.ate. Currently, they were in his inner world and he had 'promised' to let them out when the time was right, when in fact, he had had no intention of doing so. There was no need to put them at any risk.

But it seemed that this little sister of his had seen through his intentions and was now standing up for his wives.

"Fine, fine."

With a wave of his hand, two beauties appeared to either of his sides.

Saru and Lilith glared at Dyon, seemingly having sensed his reluctance. If it wasn't for the First White Mother, maybe they would have been stuck in there from start to finish.

Dyon smiled and pinched their b.u.t.ts without a care in the world, causing them to jump up like two little cats who had had their tails stepped on. And, before the two women could react in anger, he had flashed off into the distance, taking the grey land with him.

Without nowhere left to vent their anger, Saru and Lilith turned glares toward the 10 remaining Immortal G.o.ds. The former's heart beat began to roll like thunderous claps and the latter flipped a palm to produce a small golden sword. Since Dyon wasn't here for them to vent on any longer, these 10 would have to take the brunt of their rage.

"I saw you bullied our little sister?" Lilith's smile was like the gorgeous blooming of a flower, but no matter how hard they tried, the Immortal G.o.ds couldn't feel a shred of warmth from it.

Saru's fists slammed together, her usually docile and quiet demeanor vanis.h.i.+ng in place of an overbearing aura.

To the side, the First White Mother giggled like a little girl. It was as though she was a little schemer who had finally gotten her way.

In the distance, however, Dyon's smile had disappeared. Though his eyes carried a trace of complacency, he was slowly building the momentum of his state of mind.

Though his steps were quiet and his aura was sheathed, the battle between his master and the Ancestors had come to a halt as they all looked toward the distance.

Abraxus stood to one side, a thin line of blood falling from the corner of his lips. But, he didn't seem to notice as those very lips curled into a gratified smile.

Opposite him, ugly expressions marred the faces of the five Ancestors as they watched a young man slowly make his way from the distance.

Though his steps were slow, nothing seemed capable of stopping his advance.

When he met a river, it dried up. When he met a valley, it closed. When he met a mountain, it collapsed into flat land.

His steps were slow, they were quiet, and they held no special rhythm to them – even his feet were bare. Yet, sweeping changes resulted from his presence.

To someone unknowledgeable, he was just a young man, strolling with his hands in his pockets without a care in the world. But, to the Ancestors, he was a beast pulling against his chain, prepared to rip it free any moment now.
