s.h.i.+ Lei thought that he could be the rock which was thrown into the sea and stirred up a storm in the stock market. He’d become the genius and would be wors.h.i.+pped by everyone as no one could stand in his way. 

But the reality hit s.h.i.+ Lei hard in the face.

In the end, s.h.i.+ Lei chose these three stocks confidently but realised that none of them could provide him with profit and two of them would even lose all of his own funds. Luckily that the investment card avoided loss, otherwise, with s.h.i.+ Lei’s ability right now, he would’ve lost everything within a short period of time and would never dare to invest again. 

“A loser is a loser, I guess. Even with the investment card, I could only avoid getting a loss. Am I daydreaming, hoping that I can earn money through investing?” 

s.h.i.+ Lei was rather gloomy and didn’t care that Sun Yiyi was standing just behind him. 

When he received the golden thumb investment card two weeks ago, s.h.i.+ Lei thought that this card was almighty and he would be able to become part of the high social cla.s.s, not with the money which the Black Card gave him, but to increase his own funds by utilising the investment card. 

But now, s.h.i.+ Lei didn’t want to say anything. 

Even if he had the prophetic feature of the investment card, but s.h.i.+ Lei didn’t have the basic judgements on how to pick stocks. Isn’t that why people say that it’s not that the poor didn’t have a chance to become wealthy, but simply because they lacked the judgement and ability to do so? 

Many people thought that if they bought investment houses with their money about twenty years ago, they would be billionaires by now. During all these years, the housing price had raised by a few hundred times. 

But what was the reality like? Indeed, there were people who became millionaires due to the increasing housing rate, but majority of the people were still struggling to return the loan every month. Amongst these people, there were many who were successful. The only difference between these people and the billionaires was not the opportunities, but whether they had the judgement to successfully grasp the opportunity or not. Someone who didn’t have the judgement to do so, even if opportunities rained down on them everyday, but they would only think that those were trash being thrown out by others. They wouldn’t only not grasp those opportunities, they would even curse at the person who threw the opportunity on their heads. 

s.h.i.+ Lei thought that he was exactly like that. 

Sun Yiyi poked her head out, glanced at s.h.i.+ Lei’s computer and was surprised: “s.h.i.+tou ge, you are investing in stocks! You are awesome. You seemed to have earned quite a lot recently, so that’s where you earned them from!”

s.h.i.+ Lei turned his head around and saw that Sun Yiyi’s eyes were s.h.i.+ning with admiration. He felt so ashamed that he wanted to hide. 

Earned money from investing? More like he was. .h.i.t in the head by the Black Card. 

s.h.i.+ Lei suddenly realised he wasn’t as useless as what he thought. At least when the Black Card hit him on the head, he didn’t only think about how to spend it without considering how to avoid being killed like the people who came before him. The Scepter had proved this point a long time ago. 

This depicted that although s.h.i.+ Lei may be lacking in judgement on how to grasp opportunities and didn’t know much about investing, but he wasn’t exactly completely useless either. It wasn’t that he was couldn’t display his talent, it was just that he was lacking necessary practical knowledge and experiences.  

Anyway, s.h.i.+ Lei didn’t have the guts to pick out three stocks out a few thousand but he had the courage to do so now. 

Although he may not definitely succeed from his tries, but he definitely should keep a positive and optimistic att.i.tude and keep trying. The key point was to learn and try as hard as he could. After he gain more knowledge about investments, s.h.i.+ Lei believed that he could definitely make his wish of earning from investing come true. 

It was a rather stupid daydream to become the G.o.d of investment, but the most important thing was to make sure that he could earn money from every single investment. The more funds he had, the easier it was for s.h.i.+ Lei to move onto other investment projects. After he finished his preparation for these early stages, he could see whether he will succeed or not after a year or two into the future. The investment card wasn’t a tool for investing in the first time, but rather, it was for the sake of helping s.h.i.+ Lei to invest in the future. s.h.i.+ Lei had only used the simplest function of the investment card so far. Even if he wasted three chances to check the stocks, should he just give up? 

No! I want to earn money! Although the money given by the Black Card will increase gradually and I won’t ever be short on money, but I need my own funds. I can only have a chance to escape from the Black Card’s control once I’m strong enough!” 

s.h.i.+ Lei gained confidence again. Although he wasn’t on cloud nine, but he wasn’t as depressed as before. 

He hugged Sun Yiyi and smiled: “Thanks Yiyi.” 

Sun Yiyi was shocked. Although she held hands with s.h.i.+ Lei before and he even wrapped his arms around her, but it was something normal to do since they grew up together. But as they grew older, s.h.i.+ Lei and her realised the difference between a man and a woman and they were no longer as close as they were before. 

But this was a hug. Hugging and holding hands were two completely different things. Sun Yiyi’s heart thumped uncontrollably. She was excited, but she was more nervous and shy…… 

“s.h.i.+tou ge, why are you thanking me?” She waited till s.h.i.+ Lei let go of her. Although she was still clinging onto s.h.i.+ Lei’s warmth, but she asked in confusion as she remembered what s.h.i.+ Lei said. 

s.h.i.+ Lei blinked and didn’t know how to explain. But Sun Yiyi seemed to suddenly realised something: “Are you talking about me doing ch.o.r.es for you? You don’t need to thank me for that. Girls should do that. You are the man and you are the one who needs to earn money! I’ll do the ch.o.r.es for you at home, you don’t need to worry!”  

s.h.i.+ Lei saw that Sun Yiyi misunderstood him and it saved him from having to explain. As he watched Sun Yiyi clean up the house for him, s.h.i.+ Lei finally realised how much he had messed it up in the last week. 

He laughed awkwardly and suddenly thought of an excuse: “Yiyi, I’ll treat you to dinner later? Let’s go eat something nice! I just sold all my stocks, guess how much I earned?” 

Sun Yiyi was making the bed for s.h.i.+ Lei and asked: “How much? Is it about 3,000 yuan?” 

“Idiot, how is 3,000 yuan an earning? I’m telling you, I earned 30,000 yuan!” Sun Yiyi was shocked. To her, 30,000 yuan was an unimaginable number. “That much?” She related back to the time when s.h.i.+ lei spent 20,000 yuan on her clothes and she felt like that she wasn’t good enough for him even more. “s.h.i.+tou ge, did you earn a lot from stocks recently?
