Chapter 4- The White Swan and the Lazy Frog

Cheng Jinyu was sitting on the stairs not far away from the Civil Affairs Bureau wearing a baseball cap. Getting married to that man, a 16 year old Cheng Jinyu could have never imagined it.

But when he talked of love for 7 years with Wei Hua,  he fantasized about their wedding. After all, same s.e.x marriage had been acknowledged for many years.

It's just that Cheng Jinyu did not think he would actually get married to Gu Bokai. Would Gu Bokai even agree? Then what will Chen Yuze do?

Cheng Jinyu though about his meeting with Madame Gu yesterday, he didn't think that Madame Gu would be very satisfied with Cheng Jinyu, even held onto his hand and affectionately said that Cheng Jinyu was similar to her best friend.

Cheng Jinyu hearing that last phrase couldn't help but smile, "I am a frog, then what about you? A white swan?"

Gu Bokai adjusted his tie for a moment, "I would not dare to call myself a white swan, but I am here today to find my white swan."

"Going to get married with a white swan?"

Two people, one was sitting and one was standing. There were many people who came and left the Civil Affairs Bureau. The ones who were married had faces full of joy and couldn’t wait to tell the world that they married today. The divorced ones had faces full of vile. Disgusted with each other they ran in opposite directions once they exited the door.

Two hours pa.s.sed, Cheng Jinyu did not think that Gu Bokai would be able to wait two hours. It was already 11 o'clock, in a bit it'll be noon and the Civil Affairs Bureau would be on break.

Cheng Jinyu still needed that 250,000 for the medical fee, the faster the better. But the person standing in front of him did not have the slightest bit of anxiousness and even stood for two hours, unexpectedly still able to stand his ground.

The driver, Xiao Ma, couldn’t stand it anymore. He hurriedly ran over and straightforwardly said to the young master. This was supposed to be a five minute situation, how come its been two hours and he still hadn't come back yet?

The key point was that Xiao Ma saw his young master standing there unmoving for two hours.

"Young master Gu, you still have a meeting at 1 o’clock, do you want to cancel it?"

Gu Bokai's entire body suddenly shuddered, the person on the other side spoke. "Who is it? Why are you looking for me?"

Gu Bokai used a hand to m.u.f.fle his phone, turned around the corner and peaked his head out to take a look. Cheng Jinyu had his phone up right next to his ear.

Gu Bokai once again put his phone to his ear again, a reply from other there came. "Why aren't you speaking, who are you looking for?"

Gu Bokai directly just hung up his phone and turned his head to look over there. Cheng Jinyu was weirdly looking at his phone, then shook his head and put his hand in his pocket.

Gu Bokai felt gooseb.u.mps over his entire body, what exactly was this plot? How come no one informed him ahead of time.

Gu Bokai immediately dialed his mother's phone number. Mother Gu happily answered, "Son, is it that you already got the certificate? How come you haven’t come back yet? I have already sent Butler Li to come pick you guys up."

"Mom, who exactly am I marrying?"

"You haven't found him yet? Didn't I give you his phone number? You can call him!"

"How come you didn't inform me that the person marrying me is Biao Ge?"

Mother Gu, "I gave you a picture. You didn't even take one look at it, even said it doesn't matter who, no need to look."

"Mom, don't talk like that."

"I could just not get married."

"Not allowed, Mother refuses to watch you grow old and alone. Ok, you do as you see fit, we're going to the hospital now. If you bring your wife with you, we can still meet. If there is no wife, then you better just go straight to the cemetery."

Gu Bokai sighed and looked at his watch. 11:14, there was still 20 minutes before the Civil Affairs Bureau closed.

"Get married!"

Gu Bokai crossed his arms, "Happy? Pleased? Still need to wake up happy from a dream?"

Cheng Jinyu stood up, "Actually, I think you should refuse."

"You think I don’t want to?"

Cheng Jinyu really did not know why Gu Bokai felt awkward and did not want to disclose, at the worst it wouldn't be as bad as his situation. However no matter, they could only brace themselves and walk forward.

There was currently no one at the Same-s.e.x Marriage window, they could immediately begin.

The staff saw these two people. One of them looked like a refugee, one was actually covered in name brands, walking brought a golden glow of a bachelor.

"Marry?

"Yes." Gu Bokai replied.

The workers made great efforts to digest everything in front of them, "Yes, right now everybody is equal, marriage is freedom. Is there a picture? If not we can take a picture for you."

Gu Bokai turned his head to look at Cheng Jinyu. A faded grey t-s.h.i.+rt that splotches of white. At the bottom there was blue jeans. The bottom of the pants were worn out and broken, just now when he was sitting he didn’t see it.

"Today we are getting married! Did you not know? Can't you change outfits to look like it?"

"This is my best clothes already." Cheng Jinyu replied indifferently.

"These are your best clothes? Are you not embarra.s.sed?"

The staff couldn't stand it anymore. “Can you help him buy a set? After all you’re already married. Mister this outfit costs at least a couple thousand, the outfit of your partner…."

Gu Bokai's face was cloudy, he felt that Cheng Jinyu did it on purpose to deliberately embarra.s.s him. And intentionally not speaking just now, he just wanted to make trouble for him and made him wait for two hours.

This b.a.s.t.a.r.d, purposefully trying to subdue him.

Gu Bokai turned around, "Lets go!"

"What are you doing?"

"Of course it’s to buy an outfit."

Cheng Jinyu, "No need, just take a picture of our heads for the marriage photo. The clothes won't even fit in the frame."

Gu Bokai tugged on his outfit, "Come with me!" leaving no room for protest, pulled Cheng Jinyu and walked out.

The workers stuck their head out and called, "Buy a good one, you won't miss the money!"

Not close one's eyes when one dies: die with a grievance; discontent So the actual term is Ke Si (克死). According to the internet, it's a certain way to say "go die" in a certain area in China. But according to my friend from China, it can also mean to overpower someone. So GBK isn't actually murdering people, but his presence is "overpowering" to people and causes them to die.

T/N: So funny note, the chauffeur’s name Xiao Ma, literally means little horse/pony. The driver’s name is little horse….
