CHAPTER IV

Meet The Majes

 

The Son of Pyr.

This is written on the first page of the book. There's no table of contents or whatnot.

That's weird. I turn another page.

Blood will be the price of the truth untold.

This is only thing written on the second page of the book along with a thick block of wood and a sharp needle by the center.

What does this mean?

Blood?

Price?

Truth?

I've never seen this kind of book. There's nothing written in the following pages; they are all blank.

"Cenedy?"

I raise my head when Clover calls for me. I don't know why I'm feeling nervous when it's all nothing but a book.

"There you are. I've been looking for you." Clover approaches me from behind.

"What are you reading?"

There's something inside me that doesn’t want anyone to know about the book. I quickly stand up.

"Let's go back to Gein."

I pull her away and then glance the book again for the last time. My eyes widen.

The book is gone.

Clover and I return back to Gein's dorm. I'm also still confused about the book especially about him. I know that from that moment, I was captivated by his gray eyes.

He still won't disappear from my mind. He's kind enough to even help someone like me back in the library. Majes are not that bad, I guess.

When I come out from the bathroom, I'm surprised to see someone there.

It's Sade.

She's sleeping on my bed while hugging my pillow. I may be surprised but I still cover her with my blanket. She's just like Clover, a messy sleeper. How did she get inside anyway?

I find myself taking my sketch pad and begin drawing the little girl sleeping on my bed. I smile while looking at her. She's really cute.

*tok *tok (sound of knocking)

I jolt excessively when I hear knocks from the terrace. I rise up and open the door. It's him again, right?

"Good eve―" I abruptly stop talking because I'm expecting somebody else.

Gray eyes. Claude Vyel Cynnvoc.

"Are you expecting someone?" He asks me without breaking eye contact.

"Oh… Nah… No."

Oh my gosh, I'm stuttering. Lord, why are you doing this to me? I still haven't recovered from our encounter earlier and here he comes again.

"What are you doing here?"

"I knew it! She's really with Ceny."

So he comes with Rhoanne Gail McCrew, who's clapping once again. Why is she so fond to do that clapping? She's so weird.

"She'd gotten quite far this time."

It's Aiden Cedric Petrarch. He is even leaning by the door of my terrace.

"Hi, Ceny; still remember me? Hehe. By the way, this Claude. I often call him cold because he is cold. Hahaha. Hey, c'mon. Why aren't you laughing?"

I thought no one would beat Clover's talkativeness. If the two meet, I'm sure they'll get along.

"I'm Aiden Petrarch. I'm sure you know me." He gives me a frugal smile.

"And this little girl is Sade Gabrielle Cynnvoc, Claude's little sister."

Claude carries Sade, and yeah, I just realize that they are siblings. They have the same eyes and they really look really similar. They have the same features. Then suddenly, Sade opens her eyes.

"Kuya (big brother) Claude."

She gets off from Claude's arm and then approaches me. She takes something from her pocket and gives it to me.

Chocolate? Why is she giving this to me?

"I love you."

She tells 'I love you' again to me. I don't know how to respond, so I just give her a hug.

"You smell really nice, Ate (big sister) Cenedy."

She knows my name? When have I given her my name? The last time I check, I've only mentioned it to Rhoanne. She returns to her brother and sleeps again. I notice she really likes to sleep everywhere.

"Thank you for taking care of her," Claude says then leaves through the terrace. Aiden and Rhoanne are the only ones left in my room.

"Sade really likes you huh," Aiden says while sitting on the side of my table. He's examining the portrait of Sade that I drew earlier.

"Do you know that she only speaks to Claude? I'm really shocked to see her talks to you. She only gives chocolates to those people that she likes."

"She's a good girl, so I can't help liking her." I sit on my bed. That child is simply adorable.

"She also gave us chocolates, Aiden and I, but she hasn't said 'I love you'. So stingy!" She pouted.

"How will she talk to you if you won't stop talking first?" (Aiden)

"Ah, Ceny, are we disturbing you?" (Rhoanne)

"Not really. It's just new to me since there are lots of people in my room tonight." He and Clover are the only ones who have entered my room.

(ED: I hope everyone is noting that there is a special 'he' in this chapter.)

"We need to go Rhoa so she can sleep." He steps outside the terrace and waits for Rhoanne.

"We'll be back, okay? We are welcome here in your room, right?" She puts forth her hopeful eyes to me. How can I object to such a beautiful girl?

"Sure. Anytime." I look towards Aiden while Rhoanne walks to the terrace.

"By the way, Sveta has a joint cla.s.s with Gein tomorrow and I want you to be on our team."

She and Aiden both smile and then they suddenly disappear. Well, I guess I'm stuck with them tomorrow.

I am still holding the chocolate that Sade gave me. I smiled at the thought of her. I step outside to the terrace and look at the round moon. The color is beautiful, gray like yesterday.

"Tell me what you have read."

I start and hold to my chest. I'm so startled hearing someone speaks. I look around. There's no one.

"Up here."

It's Claude Vyel Cynnvoc, sitting at the window above the terrace.

"What are you talking about?" I ask him.

"What have you read in the book earlier?" He's looking at the moon which has the same color as his eyes.

"Why are you still here?" I ask instead of answering.

"Tell me what have you read." Eh, already angry, is he?

"Nothing. I mean there's nothing in there." I say in half truth. There's really nothing there besides the first and second page.

"As I thought. Well then, goodnight." Then he disappears.

What was that? He went back here just to ask that question?

Weird. Another one.

It's late. I better sleep.
