Goodbye Allen

“Okay baby, good night. Sleep tight because you will be early for school tomorrow.”

“Sweet dreams.” her dad said and kissed her on her forehead too.

“Yes mom and dad! Good night too.”

A moment later, Allen woke up because of the noises he heard.

“Wait, is it Jessica?” Allen thought drowsily.

Allen flew and saw her having a nightmare.

“Wake up! Jessica wake up!”

Jessica woke up crying and hug him hurriedly.

“Why? What happened?”

“I had a nightmare.” she confessed while crying.

“What do you want me to do?”

“Mom and dad always watch me until I fall asleep”

“Is that it? Okay, sleep now and I will watch you.” he replied yawning.

He sat beside her and watch her sleep. Forcing to open his eyes while yawning.

“Goodnight Allen.” Jessica smiled.

“Goodnight Jessica.” he answered.

[Allen’s POV]

I watch her leaving from her window, she looked at me and smiled before entering the car with her family. She said she will be going to America.

After that, I look at the calendar. She encircled the date when she will be back. That is the day after a month.

I am always alone in her room. All things that I could play with in her room, I already used. I don’t know, I think I am already used having her with me. Unlike the old times, even though I spent a lot of years alone,  I am not this impatient.

Until the day of her supposed return came, one month has already pa.s.sed. I didn’t see her silhouette. The child didn’t arrived.

Many years pa.s.sed, I could see her room which is now full of dust. The room becomes dirty. The year when she left was 2000 and now it’s already 2012.

I was under the bed, writing on the dusted floor when I heard the door opened. Someone entered the room that’s why I hide.

The one who entered is not Jessica, it seems like she is a maid because she cleans the room. She left when she’s done.

Days pa.s.sed and I am thinking. They didn’t sell this house right? If so, then it seems another person will be owning this bed. Looks like the child would no longer come.

“I am bored!” I shouted. That’s when the door opened again.
