Super Driver Chapter 41

The previously noisy corridor, quietened down after Dean He's words, especially the patients who were worried about Su Qiubai and his younger brothers. These patients had already been in the hospital for the last couple of days and had already bared witnessed to the head nurse's att.i.tude.

So when Cao Toufei beat her up, the crowd only looked on and applauded!

Everybody was caught by the surprise of seeing the dean not actually support the head nurse. Before Deputy Dean Zhang could react, Dean He had already rushed to Su Qiubai's side.

“You're Su Xiaoxiao's brother, right? I'm sorry. I didn't expect the hospital to have such sc.u.m. I'll arrange for a doctor immediately, please be rest a.s.sured!”

After seeing such a bunch of unruly youngsters at the corridor, Dean He immediately understood the reason as to why he had received so many calls. Obviously, they were the ones who did it!

Dean He definitely knew the Xiao family would suffer a loss big time, so without due hesitation, he quickly arranged the best doctor for Su Xiaoxiao, and returned to his office, before immediately firing Deputy Dean Zhang and Li Qiuping.

A few minutes after the notice was sent out, Mrs. Xiao rang.

“He Shougui, are you crazy?”

Sure enough, that woman straightforwardly demanded an explanation with a ferocious voice. If Dean He hadn't received the last call, he would have been nervous by now. After all, no one would ever dare to offend the Xiao family in Donghai City.

“Mrs. Xiao, I merely did what a doctor should do.” With that said, the other end of the phone became silent.

“Alright then He Shuogui, make sure you remember what you've said today. I hope you don't regret it.” The person on the other side then hung up the phone.

Dean He fully understood that he had definitely offended the Xiao family this time, but he had no other choices in the current situation. He could only hope that Su Qiubai wouldn't let him down.

With no more reasons to stay in his office, Dean He once again ran to Su Xiaoxiao's ward.

Su Qiubai had asked Cao Toufei and all the youngsters to wait downstairs, in the end he and Su Xiaoxiao's two roommates were the only ones remained in the ward. Just as Dean He arrived, the doctor who had been examining Su Xiaoxiao came out of the ward.

“Dr. Xu, how is she?" Dean He asked directly in front of Su Qiubai.

Su Qiubai was also anxiously looking at the doctor. Her sister was the one lying inside the ward, how could he be not worried?

“Her condition is very bad. The patient is still comatose with multiple fractures throughout her body.”

Su Qiubai felt a pain drilling through his heart by the time the doctor was half done speaking. He didn't even dare to stare through the window at the little girl laying on the bed.

“What should we do now, doctor?” Not holding back, Su Qiubai interrupted.

Dr. Xu didn't blame him, he frowned and replied, “Currently she needs a special bracket to hold her body in place, but the stent isn't available locally. However, I know that a hospital in the United States has it but it would be too late by the time it arrives here.”

"Which hospital? Could you give me the address? I'll find a way.” Su Qiubai asked, seriously looking at Dr. Xu.

His words stunned both Dean He and Dr. Xu. At the same time, both of them felt that Su Qiubai might be losing it.

It's the United States! You're just a taxi driver, do you really think that you could get it just because you say so?

Of course, Dean He just kept his opinions to himself after all of the previous phone calls he received. Dr. Xu's mouth twitched. But seeing Su Qiubai's resolute att.i.tude, he finally relented, and admitted the name of the hospital and the doctor.

"Please wait for a while, I'll be back soon.”

After getting the address, Su Qiubai went straight into his car. Dr. Xu was even surer that this man, had become so worried to the point of becoming dumb.

He helplessly shook his head. He definitely didn't have any hopes for Su Qiubai, he planned to go back to his office to study the case and see if there were other better options.

Dean He also followed him.

Unexpectedly, in just the time it took for a cup of tea, Su Qiubai's voice could be heard from outside.

“Dr. Xu, have a look. Is this what you were talking about?”

Before he had finished speaking, Su Qiubai had already barged in, a huge box held in his hand. It looked brand new. Dean He and Doctor Xu were completely astounded.

What the heck? It's only been less than ten minutes and you're back holding a box and asking if it was the newly researched device from the States? Do you think there's a robot cat downstairs?

[TLN: The robot cat is referring to the cartoon Doraemon and its Anywhere Door that allows it to teleport from one place to another.]

Neither of them spoke. But looking at each other's expression, they still felt that Su Qiubai was playing a joke on them.

However, when Dr. Xu realized that the box that had been torn open by Su Qiubai, he went blank. Not noticing his reaction, Dean He started consoling Su Qiubai, “Don't worry. We definitely won't be able to get the equipment on time, but we can think of other ways.”

Midway through his words, Dean He noticed the strange expression on Dr. Xu's face. Dean He looked back and asked the doctor what happened. Dr. Xu's gaze slowly transformed, a look of incredulity spread across his face.

“Dean He, this is the equipment!”

Boom!

Dean He was speechless. Is this a joke? Didn't you just say that the equipment was in the US? What the heck is going on?

"You aren't mistaken?” Dean He doubtly asked once more.

“No mistake! This really is the equipment!” Finally calming down, Dr. Xu confirmed.

Both of them stared at the calm Su Qiubai. Dean He began to understand why he would receive such a call.

This young man is basically a G.o.d!

“Since the equipment is here, let's start the treatment!”

Su Qiubai had no time to bother about the surprise looks they gave him. Of course the equipment is real! I had to rush to the hospital and hold a knife at that doctor's neck. If the equipment was fake, it would've been an entire waste of effort!

In Su Qiubai's opinion, the whole situation was really a simple one.

But what he didn't know was that the doctor whom he took the equipment from was going crazy at the moment. The reason was simple: he had told the police dozens of times already that a j.a.panese man driving a Chinese taxi stole the equipment from him, but the police wouldn't believe him.

As for why he claimed that Su Qiubai was j.a.panese: the old driver only spoke j.a.panese from the moment he entered the hospital!

Without further delay, Dr. Xu picked up the equipment and entered the ward. It looked like he was really familiar with the equipment. With the help of a nurse, he soon completed the mending treatment. The sweaty Dr. Xu let out a sigh of relief after leaving the ward. With the equipment, Su Xiaoxiao's condition could finally be stabilized.

“Dr. Xu, how is it now?” Anxiously staring at Dr. Xu, Su Qiubai quickly asked.

“The situation is a bit more stable now, but she needs medicine.” With that said, Dr. Xu looked slightly embarra.s.sed, he glanced at Dean He. With a flash, Dean He understood, the medicine Dr. Xu needed was definitely rare, they surely wouldn't have it in the hospital!

“What do you need? Tell me, I'll find a way.”

Su Qiubai immediately asked again.

Dr. Xu originally wanted to say that it was impossible for Su Qiubai, but he suddenly recalled the previous incident about the equipment, he hesitated and then informed Su Qiubai about the names of a couple of herbs.

Su Qiubai nodded.

"Wait for me.”

He ran downstairs once more. Dr. Xu, Dean He, and Su Xiaoxiao's two roommates stood still. The four of them looked at each other, not knowing if they should just stand there and wait or what.

Soon, Su Qiubai returned, answering their thoughts. It took only five minutes or so, maybe even faster. He held a small bag in his hand this time. It was filled with some of the additional medicinal herbs that had been given by Chai Jin along with the ginseng. He thought they were useless, so he had just left them in the car with the ginseng from before all this time.

The ginseng was given to Xia Rongrong, but the herbs were still sitting in his car, he just went downstairs and brought them up. Opening the small bag and examining the things inside, Dean He and Dr. Xu's eyes almost popped out!

How can that be! They actually still existed?

Interrupting the two of them before they went nuts, Su Qiubai continued to ask, “Do you still need anything?”

Hearing his words, Dr. Xu said, “You can leave the rest to me. I just need a Chinese doctor who knows acupuncture to cooperate with me now.”

Having said what he needed, he planned to arrange for one with Dean He. However, he was quickly interrupted by Su Qiubai, “Forget it, let me find a way.”

These were the words that came out of his mouth, but on the inside he secretly scolded the hospital for being too unreliable, how could a hospital not have everything on hand?!

Amidst Dean He and Dr. Xu's awkwardness, Su Qiubai once more invited both Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing.
