Chapter 24 Love and Hatreds

Outside the hall, a sudden strong wind rolled a great dust storm to rush the palace of the Black City, as if the heavens were punis.h.i.+ng this evil city.

In the middle of the hall, the three were standing face to face. Seeing Ye, who was almost crazy when he heard this answer, Lotus could not help but shed tears. “Brother Ye, I never said such words to you. Once I saw the blood letter from you, I asked Bilin to tell you that I regard you as my brother and friend. My true love is Canyi.”

Ye yelled in disbelief, “You are lying!” He turned to Canyi, and demanded, “What kind of craft have you used on her? How did you bewilder her? Release her immediately! I tell you, I have called the Blue Cloud Clan immortals here today. This is the end of the Blood Gone Cave. If you dare hurt her, I will kill you!”

Canyi lowered his head, and he sneered after a while; the killing will was obvious in his eyes. “Great! Great! Ye Ye, it seems that all of us in the Cave underestimated your capability. We have fed you ten years, and finally, you are taking revenge for our goodness. This is our destination. Yes, killing! I also want to kill, for only killing can heal my mood right now.” He rushed for Ye before he finished the words, and a big hand choppe on his head. Ye was also like a roaring tiger, and he took out his blades to hit Canyi’s vital points.

Canyi was defending without any expression. He waved his body quickly and lashed out a leg at Ye to kick him away several meters.

Ye used his power to straighten his body in the air, and landed steadily when he came down. Without taking care of the wound on his chest, he raised out a spell paper. A thunder snake was released to hit Canyi. Canyi didn’t avoid it; he forged a pair of black wings from his back, and used them to fight the thunder snake. Ye used this advantage to cut him on the head.

“Stop!” Lotus cried out with misery. “You two are the most important people to me. Why are you fighting each other?”

Neither of them would listen to her. They continued to fight each other. But Ye’s power was much lower than Canyi's was. In several movements, he was about to lose. Canyi raised his hand in a crucial way, seeming intent to heavily damage Ye. Lotus would not tolerate this and she released some black silks from her wrist to hit Canyi.

Canyi didn’t avoid them. Lotus was surprised and she took back the silks immediately. They still left many b.l.o.o.d.y scratches on both of his arms.

Canyi suddenly laughed bitterly and yelled madly, as countless bats flew out from his wings. They knocked Ye down and they chased him when he got back up. Ye lifted his blades to defend himself, but he was. .h.i.t by the bats. Canyi looked coldly at Lotus. “Are you so caring about him? Then let me kill him.” With these words, he clenched the wings and another bigger bat flew out to Ye.

“Stop it!” Lotus cried and she waved her arms to stop him. Within the flowing streams of her power, her eyes turned red, as b.l.o.o.d.y as the bats, and her skin became green. Black patterns clawed down her naked arms and her long hair swirled in the air like many snakes. The red wedding dress flew up. Countless black silks rotated around her body. Everything touched by the silks was cut into many pieces. Many silks twined together to become a black sword that hit the bat. Eventually the bat and the sword both disappeared.

Ye was still fighting with a small bat. When he saw the change in Lotus, he was frightened. He never thought the girl he loved and spent so much time with was a monster. He felt his heart sink.

Canyi laughed out, “Lotus, you didn’t tell him that you are the offspring of the ancient monster G.o.d?”

The black silks retreated back to her, and Lotus felt sorry for Ye. “Ye Ye, I didn’t mean to cheat you. But you once said that your parents died from monsters. I don’t want you to be sick of me.”

Ye didn’t know what to say.

Canyi said icily to him, “Ye Ye, don’t you dare say you love her now? Do you still want to marry her only? You don’t! So why are you still fighting with me? You are not qualified.”

Ye was shocked by Canyi. He gazed at him, and spoke carefully, word by word, announcing, “I love her. I won’t marry anyone else in my life.”

Canyi and Lotus were both surprised by this saying. Lotus couldn’t help cry. “Ye Ye," she said, "I can’t return you the same love for this life, but . . .”

Ye felt a big pain in his heart. He had already understood that Lotus was not amused by Canyi at all, but he dared not accept the truth. Right now, he didn’t know how to face this answer, so he ran at Canyi again.

Canyi sniffed coldly and got to him at a faster speed, and then kicked Ye into the air, and used both wings to jab him.

Lotus screamed and she released the black silks again, and this time the silks turned into numerous black arrows that flew toward Canyi’s chest.

She thought that Canyi should cease his attacks on Ye and she could save him. However, her silks were faster than the speed of Canyi’s wings. Before Canyi could piece Ye, the arrows had already entered his body. Canyi’s body shook for a while, he retreated several steps, and he spouted blood. Ye avoided this killing movement, but was also hurt badly, and he spurted blood when fell to the ground.

Lotus was stunned by this result. “Canyi, I don’t mean to—”

“Shut up!” Canyi cried as a wounded beast. “Ye, I lost. You win. You win everything! Lotus, you said you love me, but how can you kill me to save him? You are the liar.”

With mad laughter, he flapped his wings to break a wall and flew away.
