Chapter 390 A Sword of the Chosen One

As a member of the council of Zhongzhou State, Bai Zhanfang, known as the Governor of Youzhou, was as plain as an old farmer, but he was very particular about his life.

Instead of choosing the Dragon Lake Park, which was allocated to the congressmen by Zhongzhou State, Bai Zhanfang set up the Bai family in Mount Green.

Mount Green was one of the famous tourist attractions in Youzhou.

Bai Zhanfang chose the best area within Mount Green scenic area and built a manor covering about two hectares among the green mountains and rivers.

The manor did not cover a large area.

But the whole of the two-kilometer area around the manor was designated as a restricted area, patrolled by armed police on weekdays, a.s.suming the posture of a wealthy and influential family that did not allow strangers to enter.

There was a pavilion on the edge of the manor of the Bai family. It was a historic building, built near the water, full of vicissitudes.

It was blessed with beautiful views. Sitting here, you could see the most beautiful scenery of the whole Mount Green. Every inch of land in the line of sight was magnificent.

At the moment, Li Tianlan was sitting in the pavilion drinking tea.

Bai Zhanfang, wearing an indifferent look on his face, and Dongcheng Wudi, still grim-faced, also sat in the pavilion.

The three sat opposite each other but were silent.

The sky in Youzhou became gloomy in the afternoon.

The wind rose in Mount Green, and a light rain fell from the sky.

The rain fell on the great lake outside the pavilion and among the green and bright Mount Green.

There was a mist between the mountain and the water, and it looked hazy.

The wind moved through the soft rain, blowing the weeping willows by the lake.

Li Tianlan’s eyes followed the waving weeping willows into the distance.

The foggy Mount Green behind them looked majestic.

The hazy lake before them seemed vast.

Li Tianlan silently looked at the most beautiful landscape and thought about himself.

Dongcheng Wudi was not involved in the awarding ceremony of Bai Qingzhao.

He and Li Tianlan arrived at the Bai family with Bai Zhanfang. Since he made a phone call, he hadn’t talked much.

Bai Zhanfang made tea quietly, drank it, and looked calm. It was just that his eyes occasionally fell on Dongcheng Wudi and Li Tianlan to watch the two silent men.

He observed the silent pair.

There was some awkwardness in the silence.

Bai Zhanfang smiled and winked at Dongcheng Wudi.

“Tianlan.”

Dongcheng Wudi opened his mouth slowly, his eyes fixed on the misty water of the lake. “Do you blame me?”

His voice was steady but sounded somewhat stiff.

Li Tianlan withdrew his sight, smiled, and shook his head, replying, “No, I don’t blame you.”

He paused before continuing, “I mean it.”

“I’m not that mean. Marshal, of course I felt a little uncomfortable after hearing what you said at the meeting. But you’re not to blame. Some things, whether spoken or not, are real. I can understand your kindness, but it was a pity…”

His eyes wandered.

He wanted to say it was a pity that he ended up as a marshal.

But whatever he thought of it, he found it awkward.

So he shut up.

In the conference room, Li Tianlan already understood Dongcheng Wudi’s concerns when he brought up the treason case more than 20 years ago.

He seemed to be reminding the Li family where the scar was, but on that occasion, wasn’t that another kind of reminder?

During the meeting, Li Tianlan also expressed his inexperience that he might not be qualified as the marshal of the Special Warfare Battalion.

But it was clear that he became important, but he was still not in a position to influence the decisions of the high-level meeting.

His appointment by Zhongzhou State was irresistible.

In the vote of the high-level meeting, although there were many dissenting voices, since the resolution was pa.s.sed, it could be regarded as the collective decision of the higher-ups of the whole Zhongzhou State. He must take office. No one could interfere.

“Don’t think too much.”

Suddenly Bai Zhanfang said, “That’s not necessarily a bad thing.”

Li Tianlan was speechless.

Dongcheng Wudi smiled bitterly.

There was a slight chance of something good happening when Li Tianlan became Commander of the Snowdance Corps, but in essence, it was something that none of them wanted to happen.

Li Tianlan had won the final maneuver of both academies. The East Emperor Palace developed as a free force in Zhongzhou State. Their achievements and potential were universally recognized. Not only the two academies but also the government of Zhongzhou State would support him. This was the rule and the principle. No matter how Gu Xingyun suppressed the East Emperor Palace, the resources that should be given to them could not be less.

At that time, the East Emperor Palace in Tiannan, where the Special Warfare System of Zhongzhou State could affect but could not cover, would take root. It could be said to be unrestrained and far-ranging. By any measure, it was better than Li Tianlan being Commander of the Snowdance Corps.

In theory, Li Tianlan could still go to Tiannan after the chaos in Eastern Europe was over, but the theory was just theory. Regardless of how long the mess in Snow Country would last, even if it would not last long, the w.a.n.g family of Beihai would not allow Li Tianlan to easily come back from Eastern Europe.

More than two decades ago, at the height of its powers, the Li family could not bear the false accusation of treason. More than 20 years later, if history repeated itself, not only would Li Tianlan die, but even the Giant Group would be doomed.

It was not that Li Tianlan didn’t have the potential to turn a bad thing into a good thing.

But at the very least, he must play a decisive role in the chaos in Eastern Europe. Meanwhile, he must smash the plot of the Southeast Group, the Special Warfare Group, and the Prince Group, and even stop w.a.n.g Tianzong’s personal attack, controlling the Snowdance Corps before leading the Snowdance Corps to Tiannan.

It was for the best. It was as good as a dream, but how was it possible?

Dongcheng Wudi’s breath was a little messy.

At today’s high-level meeting, five of the nine councilors voted yes.

Five councilors plus Gu Xingyun respectively represented four large groups.

There was no doubt that the forces who voted yes were the ones most likely to stir up trouble for Li Tianlan in the Snowdance Corps.

What the Giant Group had managed to achieve was limited.

First of all, w.a.n.g Qianchong was transferred to the Border Control Corps. Cheng Huining, the high-ranking officer of the Giant Group, was the Commander of the Arctic Ocean Command, which was a step in advance for Li Tianlan to win the supreme power of the Eastern European garrison.

Then the list of the Snowdance Corps would be drawn up in full respect of Li Tianlan’s will.

But full respect did not mean full agreement.

In the face of a Special Warfare Battalion, which was truly made up of elites, the major forces would certainly do something about it. This was the fact in Zhongzhou State and even all over the world, from the top to the inst.i.tutions, provinces, cities… Where there were people, there were trades; Where there were trades, there were games; Where there were games, there would be p.a.w.ns.

The Snowdance Corps was undoubtedly the newest chessboard in the eyes of the major forces. Li Tianlan was not only a p.a.w.n but also a chess player who controlled the whole chessboard. Once there was something wrong with the transformation of his ident.i.ty, it might allow the w.a.n.g family of Beihai and Kunlun City to seize the opportunity to bring Li Tianlan down.

“Wudi.”

Bai Zhanfang took one look at Dongcheng Wudi, who was breathing heavily, and said quietly, “Your mind is out of control.”

Dongcheng Wudi immediately adjusted his mind, picked up the cup, took a drink, and didn’t say anything.

“Now that it has happened, we have no room to object. It doesn’t matter how much we fret. Finding ways to cope with it is the key. No matter how big or small a crisis is, it is always a crisis. Opportunity and danger coexist. Although we can’t resist the danger, can’t we make full preparations in advance?” Bai Zhanfang said in a slow and clear voice.

Dongcheng Wudi took a deep breath, bent his body slightly to Bai Zhanfang, and whispered, “I see, dad.”

Bai Zhanfang said no more.

In terms of their positions in Zhongzhou State, Dongcheng Wudi’s position was already above Bai Zhanfang’s.

But in the Bai family’s manor, Dongcheng Wudi was still Bai Zhanfang’s son-in-law, no matter how powerful he was.

“The list is the key.”

Bai Zhanfang uttered.

Dongcheng Wudi nodded and suddenly said, “Tianlan, what are you going to do?”

“I don’t know,” Li Tianlan replied quietly.

His voice was also steady and stiff.

He was now one of the highnesses in Zhongzhou State, the youngest marshal in the Special Warfare System. He was, so to speak, a paramount and powerful man.

But the s.h.i.+ft was too abrupt.

In one day, what should have happened and what should not have happened all happened.

Power, position, honor, and responsibility weighed on him before he could react.

Under such a heavy burden, he did not even have time to breathe before he had to lead the Snowdance Corps to Eastern Europe.

Yet, Li Tianlan would not back down.

However, he no longer knew how to move forward.

Before he could adjust to his current high position, he had to charge forward. Suddenly he lost his bearings. He was not nervous or frightened but lost.

He was only at a loss.

Dongcheng Wudi and Bai Zhanfang looked at each other, but neither of them talked.

Some changes came sooner or later. Now no one doubted Li Tianlan’s Martial Arts and potential, but his ability to deal with problems in chaos was still questionable. This was sometimes even more important than Martial Arts. Without this ability, no matter how strong he was in Martial Arts, he was only a simple warrior, not a qualified leader.

Dongcheng Wudi and Bai Zhanfang weren’t too worried about Li Tianlan’s abilities. Li Honghe, the former G.o.d of War, had spent many years cultivating this successor, so in any case, Li Tianlan could not be a simple warrior. At the end of the day, Li Tianlan’s biggest problem was that he hadn’t adjusted to or fit in the world of high management.

Li Tianlan was silent for a long time before he asked softly, “The list is based on my will, but it can’t all be up to me, can it?”

“Most of the candidates will be based on your will, but there are at least two positions at the top of the corps that we can’t control. That’s the rule.”

Dongcheng Wudi said, “One is the vice marshal, your main a.s.sistant. Not surprisingly, the man in the job will be transferred from the Beihai Corps. The w.a.n.g family of Beihai has a great influence in Eastern Europe. It’s natural to give them the position of vice marshal. The other is the corps monitor. The position must be appointed by Kunlun City. The corps monitor is responsible for monitoring the Snowdance Corps and has the right to report the corps’ movements to the Decision Making Committee at any time.”

His voice was low, with suppressed anger and frustration.

Vice marshal and monitor were the most sensitive positions, and around these two positions, there would inevitably be two sets of staff belonging to Beihai and Kunlun. These two groups might not be able to control the situation, but they were enough to contain some of Li Tianlan’s actions and even completely overthrew Li Tianlan’s leaders.h.i.+p status when they seized the opportunity.

“With the great changes in Eastern Europe, only the Snowdance Corps goes to Eastern Europe? What about the Sword Emperor and the Hidden G.o.d?” Li Tianlan continued.

“They are, of course, outside the Snowdance Corps. Beihai Province is relatively independent. w.a.n.g Tianzong goes to Eastern Europe for the benefit of Beihai Province. Of course, if conditions permit, the Snowdance Corps can request his cooperation. The Sigh City stands aloof from the world and has always been a force of freedom. Situ Cangyue is also independent of the Snowdance Corps,” Dongcheng Wudi said.

His words were clearly expressed. The Snowdance Corps had a.s.sembled the special warfare elite of Zhongzhou State, but it could not limit experts at the Invincible Realm. In such a mess, the experts at the Invincible Realm had considerable freedom.

Li Tianlan nodded.

“In that case… How about drawing 20,000 people from the Sky Academy’s 40,000 troops into the Snowdance Corps? As for…”

Li Tianlan stopped short.

He looked at Dongcheng Wudi, his eyes flas.h.i.+ng with hesitation.

Until this moment he suddenly remembered that he had become the Commander of the Snowdance Corps. This was equivalent to w.a.n.g Tianzong forcing the Dongcheng Clan to sit at the gambling table.

But Dongcheng Wudi still had his options.

He could choose to throw his full weight behind Li Tianlan and gamble with w.a.n.g Tianzong.

But to be on the safe side, the Dongcheng Clan could also try to distance themselves from Li Tianlan for an indefinite period of time in the future. Perhaps they would not completely separate themselves from Li Tianlan, or maybe they would still pay a huge price, but it was better than what would happen when Li Tianlan failed.

If the Dongcheng Clan was willing to back down, Li Tianlan could understand. If he wanted the Border Control Corps’ elites in the Sky Academy, this would put Dongcheng Wudi in a bind…

Dongcheng Wudi clearly saw the hesitation in Li Tianlan’s eyes.

“No problem.”

Without hesitation, he said, “I will screen the 40,000 troops as soon as possible to form the strongest framework of 20,000 troops. I can give you Li Zonghu and the other three. Tianlan, as for every one of the hundreds of thousands of troops of the Border Control Corps, I cannot say that they are absolutely loyal. But for every one of the forty thousand, you can rest a.s.sured. If you can trust me, you can trust them.”

In Li Tianlan’s heart, the Dongcheng Clan might have another choice.

But in Dongcheng Wudi’s mind, having come this far, he would never change his choice.

He would not give up on Li Tianlan. Never.

“Thanks, marshal.”

Li Tianlan bent his body slightly forward to Dongcheng Wudi.

Dongcheng Wudi smiled freely. In the drizzle, his smile was cool and bitter.

“And I’ll send some people from Sigh City to the Snowdance Corps,” Li Tianlan whispered.

He had been to Sigh City only once.

But he was, after all, the Young Governor of Sigh City, and had enough power to draw upon its resources.

Power might not equal qualification.

But this was not the time to concern about it.

He could not give up his position as Commander of the Border Control Corps, so he could only increase the strength around him as much as possible.

He was afraid of death and failure. He feared that he would be like a mole and crushed by the trend caused by the w.a.n.g family of Beihai and Kunlun City. He was even more afraid of the consequences of his death for the Li family and the Giant Group and even for Sigh City.

Li Tianlan pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a deep breath before he said, “Can Jade Pool give me some support?”

“I’ll talk to my junior sister in charge.”

Dongcheng Wudi said quietly, “I’ve ordered my people to file. They are the strength of our Giant Group in the Special Warfare System. The data will be sent to you in the evening. They can all be trusted. You can choose some and let them into your Snowdance Corps.”

Li Tianlan gave a nod. He didn’t have much time. The Decision Making Committee had only given him three days to a.s.semble the Snowdance Corps. Within five days he must be in Eastern Europe. During this time, he also had to contact with the w.a.n.g family of Beihai and Kunlun City. That was pretty pressing.

Li Tianlan sipped the tea in silence. He was about to continue when his cell phone suddenly rang.

It was a strange number from Youzhou.

Li Tianlan frowned, answered the phone, and said h.e.l.lo.

“Is that His Highness Li Tianlan?”

An old voice sounded on the line. It was a very strange voice, and the tone was carefully s.p.a.ced without unnecessary emotion.

Li Tianlan squinted his eyes and said simply, “Yes, this is Li Tianlan.”

“I’d like to speak to you alone, Your Highness. There is one important thing. It might concern the boss’ life and death.”

The old voice sounded again, as calm as before.

“Boss?”

Li Tianlan raised his eyebrows.

“Qin Weibai.”

Li Tianlan fell silent suddenly.

It was a long while before he asked quietly, “Who are you?”

“The 13th Super Master of the Samsara Palace.”

The old man on the phone chuckled and replied, “My code name is Phecda. Your Highness, we met more than three years ago, at the Garden Party.”

More than three years ago.

At the Garden Party.

Li Tianlan’s eyes popped wide as he listened to the old voice.

It struck him as absurd.

The 13th Super Master of the Samsara Palace.

Phecda?

“I am in Mount Green,” Li Tianlan stated.

“The manor of the Bai family?”

“The manor of the Bai family.”

On the phone, Phecda was silent for a moment, and then whispered, “I’ll waiting for you at the top of Mount Green, Your Highness.”

Li Tianlan calmly hung up the phone and watched the landscape and rain outside the pavilion, silent for a long time.

“I’m going to the top of the mountain.”

He pointed to Mount Green outside the pavilion and looked at Dongcheng Wudi and Bai Zhanfang.

The top of Mount Green was naturally the highest spot of the mountain.

How powerful Dongcheng Wudi was! Without listening deliberately, he could vaguely hear something on the phone.

When he heard “Samsara Palace”, his eyes lit up slightly.

He nodded and said, “Just go, and be careful.”

Li Tianlan nodded and stood up to leave the pavilion.

There was nothing wrong with being careful.

But in his current capacity, he did not need to be too careful.

And when the Snowdance Corps was going to battle, neither the w.a.n.g family of Beihai nor Kunlun City was possible to undermine him.

Dongcheng Wudi and Bai Zhanfang looked back at Li Tianlan’s back at the same time.

His back was thin.

But he looked extremely straight and sharp as a sword.

Bai Zhanfang’s eyes were full of undisguised admiration.

Dongcheng Wudi remained silent.

“Are you unhappy about that?” Bai Zhanfang asked suddenly.

Dongcheng Wudi said nothing and turned to drink his tea in silence.

The tea grew cold, and the rain continued.

The water in the teapot boiled again, and the tea was spinning in the boiling water.

When Bai Zhanfang was about to give up the question, Dongcheng Wudi looked up abruptly.

He looked into the distance, at the hazy landscapes and thick mist Li Tianlan had just seen.

“No.”

His voice was calm.

“He called you marshal.”

Bai Zhanfang got up and picked up the extraordinarily expensive teapot.

He poured boiling water into the lake under the pavilion.

The boiling water mingled with the lake, bringing a white spray and steam.

“I’m old.”

Suddenly Bai Zhanfang said, “I feel unhappy.”

Before Dongcheng Wudi could answer, he went straight out of the pavilion.

“Off you go. “Come back to dinner in the evening.”

He stepped out of the pavilion and stepped ash.o.r.e along the quaint bridge.

Dongcheng Wudi still sat where he was, motionless.

Bai Zhanfang suddenly turned around, looked at his son-in-law’s back and asked, “Who just called Tianlan?”

“Looks like a Super Master of the Samsara Palace,” Dongcheng Wudi replied.

“So you should calm down.

“It’s hard for us to get involved in Eastern Europe, but do you think it’s also hard for Boss Qin?” Bai Zhanfang asked. “According to intelligence, the Samsara Palace is one of the first forces to enter Snow Country. The Samsara Palace’s headquarters collapsed with great loss, but in Eastern Europe, they do not necessarily lack sufficient strength. You’re sitting at the gambling table with w.a.n.g Tianzong, and you have the Samsara Palace in your chips. w.a.n.g Tianzong knows about the Samsara Palace, but he doesn’t know what that means, and neither do we.”

“The unknown means all possibilities.”

“I understand.”

Dongcheng Wudi nodded. He had his back to Dongcheng Wudi, so no one could see his face. “But how to calm down?”

“If you really can’t calm down, you might as well ask the chip in your hand.”

After that Bai Zhanfang turned to leave. Bathing in the drizzle and carrying the teapot, he bent forward in the gloomy weather.

Dongcheng Wudi held the teacup in one hand and picked up the phone with the other.

The chip that he needed to ask, of course, was the chip that he didn’t know what that meant.

Dongcheng Wudi found Qin Weibai’s phone number and seemed to hesitate to call.

Bai Zhanfang ignored the psychology of his high-status son-in-law. He crossed the bridge by the lake and wandered down the smooth path below.

The guard who had been guarding the place opened an umbrella.

Bai Zhanfang waved his hand and basked in the mild summer drizzle as he made his way across the manor to the main villa.

He didn’t tell the guard anything.

The guard saluted him in front of the door and returned to his guard team with the umbrella.

Alone, Bai Zhanfang opened the door and went into the villa.

The lights in the villa were on.

In the soft light, two old men, who should not have been here, were sitting in the living room playing chess.

That was the chess of Zhongzhou State.

The game had come to an end.

But the two p.a.w.ns on the chessboard had crossed the river.

For a p.a.w.n, such an end was actually the beginning.

Mount Green was not high, but it was huge.

The top of the mountain was not even. The steep slope of the mountain reduced the size of the summit, so it was not difficult to find people at the top.

The rain drizzled like silk.

The number of tourists to Mount Green had decreased a lot.

As Li Tianlan made his way up the steep mountain road to the top, he caught sight of an old Taoist priest in a Taoist robe holding a Horsetail Whisk.

The Taoist priest was white in beard and hair. Instead of pretending to be lofty with his back to Li Tianlan, he faced him directly with a gentle smile.

Usually, there were not many tourists at the top of Mount Green, because the mountain path was steep and the scenery was not so great. For a commanding view, all visitors had better options. It was drizzling, and the mountain top was even more desolate, with only the old Taoist priest and Li Tianlan.

He was the metaphysical master of Zhongzhou State.

Taoist priest Xuan Xuanzi.

Li Tianlan guessed it was him, but he still thought it was somewhat ridiculous.

Qin Weibai was the adopted daughter of Great Master Wuwei.

Xuan Xuanzi was a subordinate of Qin Weibai.

The two metaphysical masters of Zhongzhou State were both around Qin Weibai. Vaguely, there was a sense of destiny.

Li Tianlan was a little confused, but he didn’t stop.

“Taoist priest, you want me?” he asked, coming up to Xuan Xuanzi.

“Yes. Nice to see you, Your Highness.”

Xuan Xuanzi smiled and bowed, respectful but not obsequious.

Li Tianlan stared intently at Xuan Xuanzi.

“Have you always been a member of the Samsara Palace?”

There was a note of curiosity in his voice.

Xuan Xuanzi was Phecda, the Super Master of the Samsara Palace.

His ident.i.ty was transformed without warning, which made Li Tianlan a little surprised so far.

“I used to belong to Kunlun City. It was not until Your Highness returned to Huating that I joined the Samsara Palace. As for now, I ostensibly belong to the w.a.n.g family of Beihai,” Xuan Xuanzi replied with an honest smile in his eyes.

Li Tianlan’s pupils slightly contracted.

Xuan Xuanzi used to belong to Kunlun City?

But for all the information Li Tianlan got, Xuan Xuanzi had always belonged to the w.a.n.g family of Beihai. He was superior in Mount Dibing, similar to an alien minister, but such a figure should belong to Kunlun City?!

If what he said was true, then how much conspiracy and evil did it represent?

Kunlun City… Kunlun City…

Li Tianlan’s heart seemed to rise and fall like the waves. Since he entered the secular world, he actually looked down upon Kunlun City. It seemed that everyone in Zhongzhou State shared his att.i.tude, though the G.o.d of War defending Zhongzhou State was within Kunlun City.

But all the light in the Dark World of Zhongzhou State seemed to gather on the Sword Emperor of Zhongzhou State.

No one would ignore the power of Kunlun City and the Special Warfare Group, but there was instinctive contempt for them.

Li Tianlan hadn’t noticed this att.i.tude before. It wasn’t until he saw Xuan Xuanzi that he realized that Kunlun City, the hub of Zhongzhou State’s Special Warfare System, still harbored many conspiracies that he didn’t notice.

“Can I trust you?” Li Tianlan asked, looking at Xuan Xuanzi.

“Right now, yes.”

Xuan Xuanzi smiled, and continued, “You can always check with Saint or Military Counselor.”

“I can directly ask Little Bai for proof.”

Li Tianlan pulled out his phone and stared at Xuan Xuanzi blankly.

Xuan Xuanzi frowned slightly.

His eyebrows were very long and white, and when they were wrinkled, he showed no dignity, but an inscrutable pity.

“Your Highness, you need not doubt my ident.i.ty. But I don’t want the boss to know that we meet today. You may not trust me, but you should trust Military Counselor and Saint.”

“Why?”

Li Tianlan looked at Xuan Xuanzi quietly and said, “She’s my woman, as well as your boss. Why can’t she know?”

“It could concern the boss’ life and death.”

Xuan Xuanzi’s voice was calm.

Li Tianlan squinted at him.

It concerned Qin Weibai’s life and death.

Xuan Xuanzi had heard this sentence on the phone, but at this time, Lin Fengting was with Qin Weibai, who could kill her? Who dared to kill her?

“Who’s going to kill her?” Li Tianlan asked.

Xuan Xuanzi hesitated and asked, “Your Highness, do you believe in destiny?”

Everything seemed to be repeating itself again, back to the Garden Party when he first met Xuan Xuanzi more than three years ago.

Did he believe in destiny?

Li Tianlan squinted and said, “Go on.”

“Destiny is hard to break.”

Xuan Xuanzi said softly, “Your Highness, in your own destiny, you will die before you are thirty. There is no chance of you surviving. But when Wuwei was alive, the boss begged him to break your inherent destiny, forcing your destiny back into chaos.”

Li Tianlan didn’t get what he said.

He believed in destiny and metaphysics, but he really didn’t understand this stuff.

“Breaking my inherent destiny?”

Li Tianlan repeated.

“Break, or replace. Everyone has a destiny and his or her own way. Almost no one’s destiny is completely impossible to follow or infer, but it isn’t absolute. More than three years ago, in Mount Qingyun in Lin’an, the boss replaced your destiny with her own destiny.”

Xuan Xuanzi looked into Li Tianlan’s eyes and continued, “It’s impossible to predict your destiny now, but the boss’s destiny is already written. This Eastern European mess is the tribulation she takes for you. If you don’t help her, she’ll die.”

Li Tianlan’s body suddenly tightened, and his eyes completely focused on Xuan Xuanzi.

“She is taking tribulation for me?”

“Yes.”

Xuan Xuanzi nodded and said tersely, “It’s better for us to handle things in the dark than to inform the boss.”

Li Tianlan wasn’t fl.u.s.tered or confused.

His mind became calm in a flash. “What should I do?”

“I’ll tie your destinies together, and…”

“Say something I can understand,” Li Tianlan b.u.t.ted in.

His eyes looked dangerous. “I want her alive!”

“…”

Xuan Xuanzi thought about it for a while before he said slowly, “Your Highness, you have the dragon vein, which is the strongest vitality. I need a third of your dragon vein, Your Highness. I wonder if you are willing…”

“Yes.”

Li Tianlan replied without hesitation, “But say something real. The dragon vein and vitality are ethereal. How can I give it to you?”

“If I remember correctly, you should have a Buddhist bead from the boss,” Xuan Xuanzi uttered.

The dragon vein and vitality were ethereal.

But the Buddhist bead was real.

Stunned, Li Tianlan pulled out the Buddhist bead hanging around his neck.

When Qin Weibai gave him the Buddhist bead, she only told him that it was a mascot. Li Tianlan didn’t care and hung it around his neck.

Xuan Xuanzi took the bead and spoke calmly, “This bead is called Secular Love. It is the thing that Great Master Wuwei left to the boss, but the boss always thought this bead is called Death Replacer. So she gave you the bead, and then went to Snow Country by herself.”

The corner of Li Tianlan’s mouth twitched, and for a moment, he was at a loss for words.

He was touched, but also angry. In short, he had mixed feelings.

“What am I supposed to do?” He asked in a deep voice.

“Secular Love can carry vitality. As long as the Secular Love continues, the vitality will not vanish.”

Xuan Xuanzi picked up the bead with the hand that held the Horsetail Whisk.

With his other hand, he reached into his Taoist robe and pulled out a fine silver bottle.

He did not speak of the death of monk Ruye because it was meaningless.

“The true Death Replacer is in the silver bottle.”

Xuan Xuanzi gently crushed the Secular Love in his hand.

There was no power, no Sword Energy, or fluctuation in s.p.a.ce.

The Buddhist bead was turned into the finest powder in Xuan Xuanzi’s hand.

All the powder fell into the silver bottle, and the sharp wind on the top of the mountain was as straight as a column and did not fly away.

“I need a drop of your blood, Your Highness.”

Xuan Xuanzi’s voice grew calmer.

Li Tianlan didn’t hesitate to cut his finger.

Xuan Xuanzi knew Li Tianlan’s Buddhist bead.

So Li Tianlan no longer doubted his ident.i.ty, because no one seemed to know that he had this Buddhist bead except Qin Weibai.

The red blood dripped into the silver bottle.

A white mist rose from the top of Mount Green suddenly.

The white mist was indistinct and rose into the sky, like the clouds under the sky. It condensed and was pure.

Xuan Xuanzi put the silver bottle away.

He seemed to relax and whispered, “Thank you, Your Highness.”

“That’s all?”

Li Tianlan was a little surprised.

“That’s all I can do.”

Xuan Xuanzi’s answer spoke volumes.

“What’s in the silver bottle?” Li Tianlan asked.

Li Tianlan asked.

“Now they are seeds.”

Xuan Xuanzi replied, “I’ll sprinkle them in Snow Country. When the flowers bloom, your destiny will merge with that of the boss.”

“Oh. When do they bloom?” Li Tianlan asked suddenly.

Xuan Xuanzi hesitated, and then calmly replied, “When the trial comes.”

Dongcheng Wudi finally called Qin Weibai.

“Minister?”

The line was put through quickly.

Qin Weibai’s cool and clear voice rang in the phone.

Dongcheng Wudi looked at his watch and calculated the time in Snow Country. “I’m sorry, Boss Qin,” he said apologetically, “did I disturb your rest?”

“Never mind.”

Qin Weibai smiled and said, “I just had breakfast. What’s the matter, minister?”

Dongcheng Wudi hesitated, a little ashamed and helpless. Then he said quietly, “There has been a change in Zhongzhou State.”

“Is it about the Snowdance Corps?” Qin Weibai asked directly.

Dongcheng Wudi was stunned for a moment. All the emotions inside him kept changing and finally became a surprise.

The high-level meeting of Zhongzhou State had just ended in a few hours.

The ceremony of conferring t.i.tles was not over yet.

The conference doc.u.ments should not have been fully distributed to the provincial governments.

But now Qin Weibai had already known the content of the high-level meeting!

When on earth did she know about it?

Dongcheng Wudi took a deep breath and suddenly felt a little scared inside.

If the contents of a country’s high-level meetings could not be kept secret, what went wrong?

“How did you know that?” Dongcheng Wudi asked in a low and very serious voice.

“It doesn’t matter, minister.”

Qin Weibai calmly said, “The important thing is about the Snowdance Corps.”

The Snowdance Corps…

The corner of Dongcheng Wudi’s mouth twitched.

“I couldn’t stop w.a.n.g Tianzong at the high-level meeting,” he stated.

“I know.”

Qin Weibai faintly said, “Five yes votes. Minister, you did your best. Leave the rest to me.”

Dongcheng Wudi didn’t want to pursue Qin Weibai’s intelligence source for the time being. As she said, the Snowdance Corps was the most important thing right now.

“What do you want to do?”

Dongcheng Wudi asked point-blank. “Boss Qin, it’s not going to be easy to cope with the Snowdance Corps. w.a.n.g Tianzong was up to no good when he pushed Tianlan up. He did that because what he wants most is…”

“What he wants most is to see Tianlan fall from a high place.”

Qin Weibai interrupted Dongcheng Wudi, “So w.a.n.g Tianzong will probably repeat the treason case 20 years ago. Eastern Europe is in a mess, and there are opportunities everywhere. Opportunities will come at any time. The Snowdance Corps has set up, but the vice marshal and monitor will certainly belong to the w.a.n.g family of Beihai and Kunlun City. If these two positions are combined, they can do a lot of things.

“If they frame Tianlan as a traitor, the re-emerging Li family will disappear under some specious evidence. Then the Dongcheng Clan and even the entire Giant Group will be doomed. w.a.n.g Tianzong pushed Tianlan up a step. If his plan succeeds, the consequences will be unimaginable. By then, the whole Southeast Group may be the strongest, and with the help of the general trend, w.a.n.g Tianzong can even eliminate the internal problems of the w.a.n.g family of Beihai with lightning speed.

“It is not a sinister plan. It is even a stratagem in the open. Everything is in front of us, but we just can’t stop it. I understand how you feel, minister.”

“…”

Dongcheng Wudi didn’t say a word for a long time.

He always thought that Qin Weibai was very young and that maybe sometimes she could not see through some problems.

But Qin Weibai’s words were almost to the point. She had a complete insight into w.a.n.g Tianzong’s plan.

However, as Qin Weibai said, this was a stratagem in the open. Even if they knew what w.a.n.g Tianzong was going to do, they had no way to stop him.

Even if they knew w.a.n.g Tianzong’s plan, how could they stop it?

“The key is the list of the people forming the Snowdance Corps. All you have to do, minister, is help Tianlan build a Snowdance Corps that suits him. I’ll take care of everything else.”

Qin Weibai’s tone was decisive and calm.

“Your Samsara Palace doesn’t seem to be in a good place in Snow Country right now,” Dongcheng Wudi stated in a serious voice.

“Indeed.” After all, not everyone can completely control the Dark World. Accidents happens. If only it can be solved,” Qin Weibai said.

“How do you solve it? Boss Qin, now that we have reached this point in our cooperation, I wish I can know your plan. You know exactly where I stand,” Dongcheng Wudi said calmly and firmly.

“I haven’t solved it.”

Qin Weibai was silent for a while and answered lightly, “In fact, I am not in Snow Country right now. I just arrived at the Holy Land an hour ago.”

The place having “holy” in its name must be extraordinary.

There were cities with “holy” in their names in Zhongzhou State.

Such as, Shengzhou City, the provincial capital of Beihai Province at the foot of Mount Dibing.

And Europe also had its Holy Land.

The Holy Land, the Holy City, the Holy State, the state within the state had been recognized by people all over the world!

“You’re going to get even?”

Dongcheng Wudi’s face changed dramatically.

“It’s cooperation.”

Qin Weibai smiled and said, “In the face of the general trend, nothing can’t be temporarily put down. I understand your concerns, minister. You fear a repeat of the treason, but all this comes with a premise.”

“What is it?”

Dongcheng Wudi’s voice drifted.

“They can make a treason case, but they have to kill the victims and prevent evidence in advance. Unless they can kill Tianlan, there is no point in the so-called treason case, and it only harms themselves. When Tianlan is killed, there will be a real treason case. As long as he’s alive, nothing’s going to happen.”

“Being alive…”

Dongcheng Wudi’s smile was cold. It sounded so light and yet so heavy to be alive.

“Facing the sword of the Sword Emperor in Zhongzhou State, it is not easy for a person to survive,” He said word for word and especially emphasized the “Sword Emperor in Zhongzhou State”.

“It doesn’t have to be that hard.”

Qin Weibai said in a light tone, “At least that’s true in Snow Country.”

“Why do you sound as if the Half-step Chosen One who is almost the Chosen One is as easy to deal with as a man at the Half-step Invincible Realm? w.a.n.g Tianzong is the Sword Emperor! Boss Qin, tell me, in today’s Dark World, is there anyone stronger than w.a.n.g Tianzong? He used his kendo to drag me to the table. Who can stop him if he makes a move?”

Dongcheng Wudi laughed angrily. There was raw excitement in his voice.

Qin Weibai fell silent.

After a long silence, Qin Weibai quietly said, “The one who can stop a Half-step Chosen One is naturally the real Chosen One, the Chosen One at the peak.”

“The Chosen One?!”

Dongcheng Wudi suddenly rose from his seat. “Do you mean there is a real Chosen One in Snow Country?”

“No,” Qin Weibai whispered.

Her voice sounded lost. “But Snow Country has a sword. The Chosen One’s sword with the peak sword intent.”
