Gong Yu entered the elevator, took a deep look at Yun Muxi and stood beside her.
At the moment Tong Nan saw Gong Yu, her eyes lighted up. He was really handsome and manly. Tong Nan could not s.h.i.+ft her starry eyes from Gong Yu and raised her blue eyes to follow Gong Yu like a spotlight. Although Tong Nan was 1.78 meters high, Gong Yu was 1.85 meters high, so he was much higher than her. She just lifted her head to look at him, even Yun Muxi standing between them could not hinder her because of Yun Muxi's height disadvantage.
With a bright, infatuated smile, Tong Nan asked, "Handsome man, which floor do you go to?"
Gong Yu answered coldly, "The same, 25th."
Tong Nan asked with a bigger surprise, "Sister Xiao Xi, he lives on the same floor with you!"
Yun Muxi replied indifferently, "Yes, he lives opposite to me, a newcomer here."
Tong Nan said with envy, "Woo, a handsome man is living opposite to you. Sister Xiao Xi, you really have romance luck. I envy you indeed."
Yun Muxi felt speechless inwardly without making any reply to Tong Nan. Tong Nan did not care at all because all of her attention was focused on Gong Yu. She just stared at Gong Yu obsessively.
Soon, the elevator reached to the 25th floor and opened with a ring. Yun Muxi took Tong Nan's hand to walk out of the elevator first while Tong Nan seemed to be reluctant to go. She turned around and stared at Gong Yu again. Observing Gong Yu striding step by step toward his home, Tong Nan spoke to Gong Yu suddenly, "Hey, handsome man, do you want to have dinner with us? The more people, the happier."
Gong Yu, who had overlooked Tong Nan, looked back at Tong Nan and Yun Muxi upon hearing Tong Nan's invitation.
But Yun Muxi did not turn around and rejected immediately, "Xiao Nan, we're not so familiar. I'm afraid that's not good."
Unwilling to give up, Tong Nan said, "But, Sister Xiao Xi, is he your neighbor? Neighbors can become familiar through more interactions. Am I right? Handsome man, come and have dinner with us."
Tong Nan did not consider herself an outsider at all and extended the olive branch to Gong Yu again, eager to invite him to have dinner together.
Gong Yu was overjoyed inwardly at Tong Nan's invitation, so he strode toward Yun Muxi's home.
Tong Nan was more excited when she found that she succeeded in inviting the handsome. She took Gong Yu's arm anxiously to Yun Muxi's home. Grasped by Tong Nan, Gong Yu felt displeased with a sullen look. He pulled out his arm quietly, stepped forward to take the shopping bag in Yun Muxi's hand and followed Yun Muxi to her home.
No sooner had they entered than Niannian trotted from the bedroom to the door and threw herself into Yun Muxi's arms. Yun Muxi squatted down and held Niannian. Niannian gave a kiss on Yun Muxi's face delightedly. Before she was about to talk, she found Gong Yu behind. Without hesitation, Niannian cast her mother aside and ran to hold Gong Yu's legs. She raised her head, winked her big eyes and looked at Gong Yu with a sunny smile.
Gong Yu had never contacted with a kid so intimately, especially when he had a grudge against Niannian. So he did not know what to do for a moment. But the little kid said with great excitement, "Uncle Gong, please crouch down and let Niannian give you a kiss."
Gong Yu felt unprepared upon hearing it. Rather than follow Niannian's words, he frowned his eyebrows and bowed his head to stare at Niannian.
Yun Muxi straightened her face instantly and said soberly, "Niannian, don't do that. Loosen your hands."
Niannian failed to kiss Uncle Gong who she had longed for and was criticized by her mother. She felt quite aggrieved. So she clenched her hands to hold Gong Yu more tightly and her watery eyes were full of tears. She looked rather pathetic.
Seeing Niannian behaved like that, Gong Yu felt it was too harsh for a child and could not bear it any longer. He put the shopping bags aside, squatted down and held Niannian gently. Sensing this, Niannian hurtled herself into Gong Yu's arms and cried in injured tone.
What Yun Muxi feared most was Niannian's tear. Fortunately, Niannian was always obedient and sensible, and seldom lost her temper willfully, let alone burst into tears. Therefore, her heart softened immediately when seeing Niannian cry.
Although Gong Yu did not like children too much, and Niannian in particular, he could not bear Niannian's pitiful sob and his heart softened. He wiped Niannian's tears awkwardly. However, the little girl cried more bitterly, which made Gong Yu fl.u.s.tered. He hugged Niannian and raised his eyes to cast a stern glance at Yun Muxi.
Tong Nan was startled by the scene and was in a daze for a long time before she recovered herself. She pointed at Niannian and exclaimed, "Sister Xiao Xi, this kid is..."
Before Tong Nan finished her question, Gu Yuxuan ran out of the bedroom on hearing the cry, only to see Niannian was all tears in Gong Yu's arms. She also asked in surprise, "Xiao Xi, what's wrong with Niannian?"
With so many confusing questions, Yun Muxi touched her forehead helplessly and did not answer them. Instead, she squatted down and immediately comforted Niannian, "My dear Niannian, come to Mommy. Don't cling to Uncle Gong. You've soiled Uncle Gong's clothes."
Because it was Yun Muxi's reproach that made Niannian cry, Niannian had regarded Yun Muxi as a hostile person at the moment, totally ignoring Yun Muxi, and continued to hide in the Gong Yu's arms, crying bitterly and loudly.
However, Tong Nan was completely stunned by the word "mommy" from Yun Muxi. Her eyes widened and she asked in astonishment, "Sister Xiao Xi, you said mommy. So this kid is your..."
Before finis.h.i.+ng the words, Tong Nan was surprised to see that the little girl resembled Yun Muxi, like a scaled-down version. It seemed obvious.
Tong Nan continued to ask, "Sister Xiao Xi, won't you graduate this year? You haven't got married. How can you have such a big child?"
Yun Muxi did not reply but reached out for Niannian, trying to take her away from Gong Yu's arms. Unexpectedly, the little girl held Gong Yu's clothes tightly, cried and sobbed pitifully and breathlessly.
Niannian seldom cried and lost her temper, but today, she was extremely abnormal. And Yun Muxi found it difficult to cope with her daughter's unusual behavior. When seeing her precious baby sobbing like that, she could not calm herself down but wanted to cry as well. Gu Yuxuan also approached, squatted down and tried comforting Niannian. But today Niannian seemed to listen to no one but Gong Yu.
Seeing this, Gong Yu could not bear Niannian's weep and softened inwardly. He lifted up Niannian and walked to the sofa directly past Yun Muxi and Gu Yuxuan.
