Chapter 13: New Year's Ghost Child (5)

"We both thought that she was raped by person, she must've been drugged by someone which might've been done by one of the staff. We asked for the manager and asked him to give a statement or else we will call the police. At first, they didn't admit anything and said that our minds were messed up and used this to get money from them. I did want money, but I didn't lie. That night was really strange. Did I get on or off the bed? How can I not know? I was about to call the police and also we also needed to contact the news. We were not afraid of investigation of this matter. If it becomes big, it doesn't matter, we weren't locals anyways. After we go home, who will know about this?"

"Ok, after you called the police?"

"No, their manager heard what we were going to do and they lost it. They gave us tens of thousands, even gave us a much of souvenirs, and helped us book tickets to the major attractions of the city...ai, it's kinda like that. So we just let it be."

"When you guys booked the place, did you buy birth control pills?"

We changed the room, but she had nightmares everyday and said that she heard a child's laughter. I didn't take it seriously and just thought that the inn wasn't very soundproof and the people next door were loud. She didn't mind either and we went back home. We took the train, there wasn't a lot of people on the train, the carriageway was empty. There was two kids running back and forth and Yinan suddenly became angry. I've never seen her this mad before, she went towards the children, scaring them, and even used physical contact. I hugged her, but whatever I said didn't do much. I just watched her scolding the children and quarreling with their parents. Finally the attendants came and changed seats for us. After, we changed seats, she calmed down, didn't move, didn't talk either. Looking at her made my hair stand on end and went to smoke. After smoking two cigarettes, I came back and I saw that she was still like that. That train...was very long, it felt like it was driving for a long time, and arrived at the station."

"After returning home, did she have any abnormal behavior?"

"Too much weird behaviors! She had nightmares, saying that there was a child next to her laughing calling her mommy. We didn't have any children living near us, so it's impossible for to hear it! I took her to see the doctor and prescription her sleeping pills. She could finally sleep, but during the day she works...When we were working, I received a call from her unit saying that she hitted someone. When I arrived that's when I realized. These days when she worked, she would just foolishly stand there and sometimes asks her colleagues if they've heard the voice of a child. This time, one of her colleagues brought her child to work. She chased them around hitting them and her colleague even hitted her. I...from that time, knew that something wasn't right. It wasn't the 'wrong' I felt during New Year's, it was different type of 'wrong.' Yinan was probably attacked by evil."

It was very loud and all the people of the town came to watch…*sigh*..."

"What did the enchantress say?"

"Said she was pregnant with a ghost. She was in bed with a ghost and was pregnant with it. The little ghost in her stomach was causing trouble."

"Did she solve the problem with the little ghost?"

"..."

"Mr. Zhou?"

"She said, that day she said that this little ghost and Yinan are bounded together. If you don't want to hurt Yinan and get rid of this thing, then you need to be prepare. I didn't know what she was going to do and her price depends on what she is going to do. "Mm, did you guys ever try to find that enchantress again?"

Me and my mom went to find someone like Ol' Xian again, but failed. And then, at the end of February, I helped Yinan take a bath and I saw her belly bulging out. We couldn't sit still anymore, couldn't find any other people, so we went to the hospital to get abortion. Yinan didn't even react, I took her and she sat with me and we took the bus to the hospital. That bus...it was obviously afternoon and not rush hour, but it was so crowded. There was just too many people. At first, me and my mom started holding on to Yinan from each side. Later on, we didn't know what to do and decided to get off, but Yinan disappeared. We searched for in the bus and the people on the bus looked at us like we were crazy and the driver even yelled at us. I had to tell the people that my wife's mind wasn't normal...everyone on the bus helped us look and later a little girl told us that she saw Yinan got off the bus, so we got off. We talked to people on the road and before we found her, we heard commotion from others that someone was going to jump off the building."

"Was it your wife?"

"At first I didn't know. The shouting man leaned his head and pointed to the roof of a department store. It was more than 10 floors high and there was someone standing up there and people could barely see who it was. I wasn't the one who first saw it clearly, it was my mom and she called me. She was so anxious and continuously pulled me. I didn't know what to do and yelled Yinan at the top of my lungs. The crowd heard it and found out that it was someone I knew and gave me some ideas. From time to time...someone would shout jump off the building and Yinan jumped. She didn't hesitate to jump. My mom and I were tired from yelling and supported each other. The people shouted and called and my ears were stunned. The people moved away and then I saw Yinan. She...she was laughing, laughing freely. I later thought that she must've thought that falling down to her death must be a good thing…"

"What about the fetus in her belly?"

long time no see, haha. ah i should'nt be laughing. i guess i just wasn't in the mood to do anything the whole month and when i post new chapters, i would have to transfer from google docs to this site. kinda annoying. when i finish this arc, i think im gonna write everything here
