Death's Scythe Chapter 14: [ Meeting ]

Same time as when Leo and Leah were clearing their first dungeon , the Heroes a.s.sociation was having a meeting about all the hopeful new recruits . This meeting happened every month , and decided what the guilds felt like about them .

It was possible to receive the cold shoulder , or become the most sensational hero in one night after this meeting . There were were 6 guilds in the heroes a.s.sociation . Warrior fields , Magic tower , Support clinic , Adventurer's guild , Miscellaneous warehouse and Management . All heroes referred to a guild by the 2nd word in their name .

Management was just called management . They were the most secretive out of all the guilds and usually acted as a balance for the 4 major guilds . The warehouse just made money , and nothing else even mattered to them .

" Let's start today's meeting like always with the management ." announced the Commander of management .

All commanders were sitting around a round table , with their deputies and 5 more heroes standing behind them .

The deputy of management came forward and put a file on the table . " We recently admitted a wind magician into magician . He likes to be called Tornado and doesn't wish for his real name to be known . He is from the eastern continent and has no relatives to speak of . His gift is a magic type that focuses on control of winds . He joined when he was a Basic-low tier hero and is currently a basic-intermediate tier hero ."

" You must have high hopes for that newcomer ." The commander of magic tower snorted . She had blonde hair and looked beautiful in all aspects .

" I guess he isn't bad . I don't know if controlling wind is any good though ." The commander of the field said as he stared into nowhere . He wasn't anywhere near bulky . He looked like weak man who would die from just a single punch .

" Hmmm ." The commander of Adventurer's guild simply kept nodding his head . He used to be a mortal who got a gift because of clearing low tier dungeons over and over again . He was a mercenary , but became a hero for the profits of both mortals and heroes .

" Is this really necessary ." Said the support commander as she put a pair of headphones on her head . " I am underaged for such discussions ." She was just 15 years old and had inherited the position from her grandmother . She had the same support gift as the previous commander .

The last commander just smiled as he looked at the others with ridicule and said " Can I go now ? I don't think any one of the recruits can interest me in any way ." He pushed his gla.s.ses up as he looked on .

" We need all the opinions. The 10 year truce is about to end . We need the best young recruits to train by the end of this month , or we will end up losing against the continental alliance ." Said the commander of management .

" I know that , but we had no recruits for the last year or so . There are just no heroes who would join the warehouse and do business ." Said the commander of warehouse .

" You can go if you want . I wanna listen to my compet.i.tion ." Said the little girl still not paying any attention to her manners .

The others just looked at her and a few shook their heads .

" I have 2 recruits that have progressed extremely quickly . They don't want to share their information so I will support their decision ." Said the commander of Adventurer's guild .

" That's what I'm talking about . I have a young kid with a body strengthening gift . She wants to remain secretive as well ." Said the commander of warrior fields .

" Barbarians ." The blonde smiled as she said . " We magicians are made to show off . My daughter awakened to a gift that is much stronger than mine . She will become the youngest archmage in our tower . " She said as she proudly pointed with her thumb at a girl with blonde hair standing behind her .

" I am the new recruit of support clinic and I am strong enough to make any of you at least 5 times stronger already . Anything else ?" The litter girl said as she put her headphones around her neck . " Grandma said the support heroes are needed by everyone , so I don't need to worry about being strong as long as someone protects me ."

" See , we are already done with the meeting . Now , about the serious stuff . Recently , there was a huge spatial disturbance reported by the wizard tower . It was directly above the Grimm empire from which 2 of our new recruits ran away . It seems they knew of something dangerous happening in the empire , or else why would the 5th price take his sister away ." Said the commander of management . " We all know that once he talked back to even an archmage of the empire , because his arrangements didn't guarantee his sister's safety . There must be a reason for him to run away from the empire . " He said as he nodded at the deputy .

The deputy stood beside him again and said " Princess Leah's ident.i.ty as a hero had been discovered in the empire , which is not so big of a reason to run away , but they were reported missing to the emperor directly after the spatial disturbance ." He stepped back as the commander continued .

" We need to question them about what they know and keep them safe , in case the empire is looking for them ." He stopped and looked towards the commander of Adventurer's guild and said " What do you know ?"

" Hmmm ... " He nodded as he remembered everything he knew about them " They are currently in the northern continent . Leo , or the 5th prince , talked about being out for a few weeks . He talked about strengthening his sister , which seems to be a joke . He has a physical type body transformation gift and his sister has a magic/support type gift ." He paused for sometime before he said " Leah is currently a middle-intermediate tier hero and Leo ... In the last week has gone from middle-low to middle-intermediate tier just yesterday . They seem to not like the empire as Leo was overheard saying he will destroy the empire for her ."

The little girl seemed surprised as she said " with such little strength ?"

The guild commander smiled as he said " He cleared a middle intermediate dungeon in 22 hours . The boss seemed to border on the limits of a middle intermediate monster , so he seems strong enough to me ."

" He can use magic . I personally saw him in the forest burning monster corpses with a black flame ." The blonde said . " I saw him fight . He is extremely reckless and works like a killing machine with calculated movements . He can transform his hands , mouth and even has wings . He seems to be going for a dragon like appearance , and his gift seems to absorb features from monsters he has killed . He must have killed a common bat , and some lizards for his current transformation ."

The guild's commander nodded and said " Leah was seen controlling fire without using any mana . It is hard to determine her gift because Leo said it boosts perception . We haven't seen her do anything else that hints towards the use of a gift ."

" Leah seems to be easy to deal with , but Leo is bloodthirsty when left alone. I heard from an enchanter that he sold Leo clothes ." The warehouse commander sighed " He had been battling monsters for a whole week since his arrival on the island . He has no problem being covered in blood and many people saw him drenched in blood in the shopping floor ."

" We will question the 2 about anything they know as soon as they return ." The management commander said " Meanwhile , send someone from the thief guild to monitor their movements in the northern continent . If they clear any more dungeons , directly report to the reception ."

The management commander looked around and said with a serious face " We will continue this some other time . Everyone is to continue their normal activities . I need statistics of total monsters killed on my table every week and as always , you will receive compensation . " He looked at all the commander's faces one last time as he said " disperse "

Meanwhile Leo landed on the ground in a forest near Ziega city and woke Leah up as he slowly put her on the ground .

"Is hugging me as I fly really that comfortable ? " Leo said . ' Is it done ?' He thought in his head .

[ The una.s.signed points have been successfully a.s.signed , 1 to strength and 2 to agility ]

" There must be many dungeons here that we can clear . And if they reset while we clear other dungeons , that'll be even better ." Leo said as he looked at Leah who slowly woke up " And we will be away from the a.s.sociation for a long enough time . If they catch up we can directly fly to Masmorra city or the capital KerKer . I still don't understand why you want us to be away from it , though ."

Leah nodded as she got out of Leo's hands and stretched her body " I feel uncomfortable around those of the a.s.sociation ." She you as she said " And brother can keep me much safer than them ."

Leo still had some doubts but he was helpless against his sister's compliments . He smiled and said " Whatever you say ."
