Death's Scythe Chapter 15: [ Dream ]

After Leo and Leah got out of the forest , what they encountered , could easily be called a metropolis . Leo was so surprised he directly asked Leah " This isn't the capital ?" Leah just smiled and continued on .

Leo was used to seeing capital be smaller in size , but Mich more developed , but if you ignored the fact that the city Ziega didn't use much mana , it was very well - developed . ' Basically a city from my world .' Leo thought .

They went through the main gates by showing their cards . The guards gave them a weird look , but allowed them in . Leah could have ignored it but Leo could clearly hear the guards chatter as they left .

" Did you see the boy's card ?"

" Yeah , yeah . He had so many points ."

" Must be a bigshot's relative . How else could a 17 year old possibly have so many points ?"

Leo ignored them all and simply continued into the city . He stopped by a few hotels and inquired about the basic price range in the area .

' They are taking much more than necessary .' Leo thought .' But I shouldn't mind , now should I ?' He took out his card and played around with it .

3 gold a night for a room for 2 . ' Not reasonable , but I have the money to spend .' He thought as a smile appeared on his face .

He took Leah and looked for a exchanger . The heroes a.s.sociation had exchangers placed in every major city . The exchangers were employed by the a.s.sociation to do 1 simple job . Exchange points for gold .

Leo directly went in and exchanged 4,335 points into gold . He thought for a while and as if he finally decided something , rented a room in a hotel .

The room wasn't too grand , but had two beds , a dining table , some chairs , and some other daily necessities .

" I need to gather information , you can go around on your own ." He said as soon as he saw Leah sit down on a bed . " I want to at least make sure how to arrange a dungeon for us to clear . The mayor's office manages all the dungeons around here ."

He sat down on a chair and lay down his hands on the table . " Order some food . I'll go out for 2 or 3 days tomorrow . " He said as he put his head on top of his arms . " I am sleepy ."

Leah looked on and said " We can go together ." She waited for a response , but when there was none she walked up to him and sat down beside him . " It isn't that unreasonable . I am just a weak little girl , after all ."

This time as well there was no response . She thought he had gone to sleep so she was going to try and put him on the bed , at least . She put her hand on his head to ruffle his hair , but as soon as she put it on his head , her vision darkened and she saw 2 people . Both , were her brother . She immediately pulled back her hand .

' He has his memories . It won't be impossible for the old memories to take over .' She thought . ' The old brother ... I can't see him hurt anyone . He has never hurt anyone .' She hesitated a little , but put her hand back on his head ' But I want to know . I want to know why he would show up .'

Darkness . Complete darkness .

Leo stood in the middle of it , trying to look around . He wasn't bound in the darkness , like he was last time . He could move his body .

' Am I strong enough to talk to him ?' Leo thought of the last time he talked to the Dragon G.o.d Of Death . ' But this seems different .'

' Of course it is , master .' He heard the same , sweet voice as the time he talked to the scythe .' I called you , after all .'

He looked around , but couldn't find any sign of the scythe ' Where are you ? I can't see a black scythe like you in the darkness .' He said in his mind ' I can feel your presence , but I can't feel where it is .'

' Ah , master .' The voice said ' Here you go .'

As soon as he heard the voice 2 yellow eyes appeared , somewhat Below him .

' A cat ?' He thought and he got a reply .

' My master loves to kill everything , but still loves cats . How cute . ' The eyes jumped and appeared above his shoulder . He felt the soft feet of a small cat , as if he was wearing nothing . ' I am an astral body , master . I am directly connected to your soul .'

He didn't understand what it said , but could feel a connection with the cat . It was a strange but deep connection . He lifted his hand and felt the cat's soft fur above his shoulder . ' You're a bit too dark .' He thought .

' I need to be , or else how will I fit your preferences . My master loves darkness the most . The darkness in his heart is completely a.s.similated with it .' The voice spoke as he ran his hand thought the cat's hair .

The cat purred and kept purring as Leo asked ' Why call me in this darkness ? And why wait for me to sleep ?' He lifted the cat in his arms , but it turned out to be way smaller than he imagined ' You are just a kitten .' He said as he held it from under it's arms and tickled it's stomach .

Hearing the purring noises calmed him down even further . ' My master had 2 souls . The other soul had left a message before it died . He isn't here but a fragment of his soul was left .'

Leo held the kitten like a baby ' Can I take you out ? I always wanted a cute pet .' He looked at the kitten and all he could see were it's eyes ' Something is stopping me from coming out of here . It is like a boundary I cannot cross . I keep slamming into it . I can talk to you but it won't allow me to pa.s.s .'

As soon as he heard it he got an alert .

[ The gift:Reaper , is received on making contract with an astral body that is the soul of a weapon . The system needs to scan the astral body and the weapon for safety purposes , only then will User Leo be allowed to use the weapon or release the astral body ]

[ The scanning of the weapon has been completed . The astral body has been resisting the scan ]

[ In case the astral body is scanned , the ETA for the Gift:Reaper to be available will decrease from 6 days to 1 day ]

He thought how he should tell the cat about these alerts but the cat looked up into his eyes and , the eyes moved , in what seemed to be a nodding motion . ' I can see the thing too master . I have your memories , so I will do as it says .'

Leo nodded and said ' And about the fragment ?'

The cat looked eyes turned at an angle he couldn't see them at . He a.s.sumed it was looking ahead and in front of him , was what seemed to be , his own body , before the training and receiving the gift .

" h.e.l.lo , leo ." The leo sighed ." I am dying ." He looked at Leo and smiled ." I looked through your memories . You seem ... complicated . I understand you might hate me for this , but I will have you inherit all my adoration for my little sister ." Grimm looked into Leo's eyes " After you receive this message , I will be gone completely but I have just one request . " He shook his head smiled " No this is not a request . This is my last wish . " He looked into Leo's eyes and said . " Find out who I am ." He paused thought for a little , then said " I am not from this world . I was not born in it . I am not like you ... " She paused ." The body , is mine . The soul , is mine . But my origins ... I have no memories from before meeting Leah ." He laughed in self ridicule " I overheard the emperor saying these exact words ' What if the tribe finds out ? They will destroy the whole world . It is best if news about him is kept under wraps . Create his records . Tell the world he was a child a concubine had kept secret . ' Pretty simple , right ? I thought so too . I was just 6 after all . But when I was dying I remembered the whole thing he said ." He looked at his hands as he spread them out ." He said ' Hide his ident.i.ty as a dragonborn .' Can you believe it ? I was never even human . I was just so weak that I pa.s.sed as a human ." He smiled again " I still consider Leah my sister . I want you to not only find my origins I also want you to protect Leah . The empire needs her sacrifice for a ritual ." The soul slowly got translucent as it said " That's all . I guess it is all up to you now ." The soul completely dissipated in front of Leo's eyes .

There was silence for a long time after which Leo said ' That's it ? What different am I doing right now ?' He looked down as it felt the little kitten scratch his hand ' Master , the part about your origin . You've not even thought of that before .'

He ran his hand through it's fur once more and said ' I don't care about my origins . And if Leah keeps me in control , that's no problem either . I'll always protect her .' Leo said as he continued enjoying the purring of the kitten . ' As you wish , master .'
