Chapter 19 - Sisterhood

"Bang!" 

Lin Haoxue heard a huge explosion and felt like her body was going to be torn to pieces.

Should couldn't open her eyes nor move her body as she was gradually losing consciousness.

She tried to force herself to stay awake and while doing so in one moment she felt cold and the next she felt hot. Another moment she felt as if she were being blown by the wind and in the next moment felt as if she were struck by lightning...

She suffered extreme pain to the depths of her soul and her consciousness was completely worn down. What she didn't know while she was in a coma was that the explosion from earlier was actually caused by the fire dragon. The fire dragon which had thrown the entire Demon Beast Forest into chaos causing all the spirit and demon beasts to panic and become completely frightened.

Unexpectedly, the dragon had exploded! Its body exploded and fragments of the dragon rained down from the sky as it disappeared without a trace. 

Of course, the falling flesh of the fire dragon met some very unlucky mercenaries who were still nearby. 

During the time those fragments falling, a black colored light and shadow flew into Lin Haoxue's body in a flash.

When that light and shadow entered her body, two rays of light rushed out of the ring which hung in front of her chest. One ray of light was as dark as ink while the other was as bright as a star.

They strove to be the first and feared to be late as they entered Lin Haoxue's body as if they were fighting over a new domain.

These two rays of light didn't cause any huge changes, and slowly, they turned tranquil again.

After a long time, when everything was back to normal, Lin Haoxue woke up from her coma.

Her whole body felt very relaxed, and so she immediately looked inside her body and found that there was a dark pearl inside her dantain.

This boundless baleful feeling was terrifying and it was exactly what she had felt underneath Divine Dragon Stream.

Though at this moment, the pearl was in the center of a white whirlpool, and it was obvious that this white whirlpool was controlling it. Above the whirlpool, there was a sleeping black dragon. Its body was similar to the fire dragon that Lin Haoxue had seen earlier but it was way smaller.

Lin Haoxue even noticed that the pattern on this little dragon was more intricate than one on the fire dragon she saw in the sky. 

After investigating, she discovered that her strength had made a breakthrough and was now at the Middle-stage of the Profound Grand Master realm!

But she didn't have any time to enjoy her happiness as she turned clear-headed from a weird smell, a very unpleasant smell.

Looking around, she found out that her body was covered in a layer of filth, and it was precisely this slim that was emitting such a stinky odor. 

"So gross," Lin Haoxue grimianced. Even though she knew that this was the effect after one washes their marrow and widens their veins, but this smell was just too...

At least she was happy that she was right next to a big lake and there wasn't a trace of others present. Therefore, she jumped into the lake without hesitation. She then cleaned off all the filth and impurities which came from inside her body. 

After she finished bathing, she put on a clean set of clothes she had with her, and after a long sigh, she walked towards the sh.o.r.e. 

"Ah, how did you get here?" When Lin Haoxue just came ash.o.r.e, she saw Shen Molian was there waiting for her. Some places on her clothes were torn, there was an obvious b.l.o.o.d.y aura surrounding her, and her hair was messy but she gazed at Lin Haoxue very warmly without a trace of coldness in her eyes like before. 

"I wanted to find you, so I came," Shen Molian reached out her arms and pulled her into an embrace. Then she took out some food from her storage spirit tool. She pa.s.sed the food to her and said, "Having experienced all this, you must be hungry. Have some food to replenish your strength." 

"Wow, you have some food for me? Awesome!" Lin Haoxue took the food and with huge bites ate it all as if she had never seen food before. 

"I'm glad to see you're alright. Otherwise, I would never be able to forgive myself," Shen Molian looked at her as she ate and smiled. Her look was gentle and was similar to her sister Ruoxue. This smile made her original icy demeanor disappear and she softened towards Lin Haoxue. 

"I'm fine," Lin Haoxue could feel her emotions so she swallowed down the food in her mouth and smiled back. "See? My strength has even increased!"

"Yah. I suppose this what they call profiting from disaster. Now that you're at the Profound Grand Master realm, I really have no idea how powerful you are!" She smiled even more.

"Now that I'm relieved, I can cultivate and breakthrough in peace. Therefore when we face some spirit beasts again, we wouldn't be in such a bad situation."

"What are you saying! Can it be that you can just breakthrough whenever you wish?" Lin Haoxue murmured indignantly. 

Even though she was murmuring, Shen Molian could hear her. 

"You don't believe me? But this really is the case," there was mocking and teasing in her words and she looked much happier than before. This was the Shen Molian that Lin Haoxue had never seen before.

But she had no choice but to say that now Shen Molian was much cuter and more likable. 

"Thank you," Lin Haoxue spoke in a low voice. Even though she didn't know how she had found her, but Shen Molian must have suffered while she was searching for her. 

"No thanks. Don't ever say thank you from now on," Shen Molian looked at her with a serious and sincere expression on her face. 

"Alright, I take it back. From now on we're good friends," Lin Haoxue smiled while she spoke. She had finally become real friends with her. They were no longer on guard against each other, there was no more lying or calculating. 

"A long time ago, I had another good friend." Shen Molian sat down next to Lin Haoxue and talked about her past. "We used to be good teammates; we overcame many difficulties together and made breakthroughs one after another. Therefore, when my family got into big trouble, the person I thought of to rely on was her……"

Lin Haoxue was sitting next to her and she didn't ask anything since she could guess what happened next. As expected, after a while, Shen Molian kept speaking. "But, when I turned my back so she could guard me, she turned against me inflicting a horrible wound from which I almost didn't recover. Since that day, I didn't dare trust anyone even though I still longed for such a friends.h.i.+p." 

"Thank you, Haoxue," Shen Molian looked at Lin Haoxue and spoke sincerely. "Regardless of everything, you put your life on the line and saved me. You made me realize that there are still people who are sincere in this world. You helped me open my eyes to the fact that even though I was betrayed, I can't doubt that warmness exists in this world. You're a friend that I want to have for life and from now on I won't doubt you anymore. I'm willing to let you guard my back." 

Lin Haoxue looked at the eyes staring at her which held such strong expectations, and while she felt it was a little heavy but at the same time she felt grateful as well. 

"Ok! From now on we are good friends, sisters! From now on, we won't doubt each other; we'll never betray the other!"

"Yes, we won't doubt each other nor betray each other!" Shen Molian reached out her hands and held Lin Haoxue's as she repeated those words with a brilliant smile. 

These two girls made such a promise with each other in this Demon Beast Forest which had danger lurking at every side.
