I stared intently at Rose as her whip made its way to the Priest's body.

*Crack*

In the past few days such an attack would have damaged a t.i.tan fatally, possible taken its arm off, not for this one. There was barely a scratch left after the attack. The creature didn't even flinch as it grabbed another one of the survivors and tossed them into the lava pool.

"Noooooo! Argh!!!!"

Rose's anger spiked again as she continued to try and attack the creature. I had a sinking feeling in my gut as I watched Colabrus shake off every blow. This would be a tough fight.

'Rose stop attacking it, save the humans!'

I sent the message off before focusing on the t.i.tans around me. We could still take them out pretty, fast. It would be better to take them down before we even bothered with the big guy. He may have been tougher, had more abilities and strength. But it was still slower than us. We could always run if we had to.

Though I would be lying if my blood didn't spoil for the fight that was about to happen.

I condensed more ice onto my Halberd as I went in for another kill. Over my head I felt the cold ice arrows fly above and destroy the core of a different t.i.tan. From the back I could just hear the noise of the kids fighting.

I jumped to the side dodging another blow from behind, before swinging around and cleaving the arm behind me.

*Rao…*

I took out its head shutting it up. I was about to continue when I felt a sharp pain come across the connection. My head instantly snapped to Rose who was facing the boss. She had heeded my warning and was trying to get to the survivors, but she had messed up.

This priest didn't like what we were trying to do, somehow, it had grabbed ahold of Rose and was crus.h.i.+ng her. I felt the pain come in waves as she groaned. Its hand reeled back and I knew what was about to happen. I disengaged from the battle around me and started to sprint towards the pool.

I waited until Colabrus had thrown her towards the pool before I jumped. I calculated most of the math in my head as I flew towards her body. I intercepted her over the scorching hot pool and flew towards the other side. Unfortunately after grabbing her I knew I wouldn't make it.

Hitting her midair, my momentum had fallen; we were both heading towards a fiery doom now! Ella's scream of worry blasted in my head as we got closer to death, I pulled up as much energy as I could as we were about to impact it.

Ice built up along my hand as I blasted cold air right into the pool. It sizzles as it made contact and I heard the Variant t.i.tans roar in rage at what I was doing. Even Colabrus had turned its attention to us. The heat coming off its body told me it wasn't amused.

Sc.r.a.pping all the energy I could, I created a sheet of ice on top of the molten magma. I had no clue how I did it as the ice should have evaporated instantly, but I thanked my lucky stares that the stupid plan worked. I knew I couldn't survive the heat under there. Well probably.

*Crack*

We slammed into the ice, jarring my body and almost making me lose my grip on Rose. But I didn't have time to stop, it had completely shattered the thin layer of ice I had created. Springing back to my feet I rolled over a bit and propelled myself back onto the gravel at the side. Thankfully we were close to the edge.

It had taken a lot out of me though. I landed on the gravel in a rough manner, nearly losing consciousness. I hadn't had to use that much energy ever! Rose groaned from where she was on top of my p.r.o.ne body but I couldn't care less.

I could already feel she was regenerating. The same thing was happening to me, but because I had taxed my reserves the process was slower. While we were both laying their wallowing in pain my eyes snapped open as I heard the screams.

"Help! Please!"

"NO!"

"This isn't fair!!!"

"HELP US!!!"

I turned my head over to look at the group of survivors. Colabrus had, had enough of our interruptions. Both its hands lowered down and grabbed groups of people before crus.h.i.+ng them together and throwing them into the pit.

There were only a few left by the time I turned, and there was no way we could save them. Rose also looked in the direction of the screams and was starting to burn with rage. But I could also feel a small amount of guild and pain underneath, even shame. She was ashamed that she couldn't save them.

In my calculative head I couldn't see why she wanted to blame herself for what was happening. She had tried her hardest to stop this from happening. Which was exactly what I told her over our link. She turned to look at me for a few seconds, before letting out a sigh of regret.

I patted her on the head and held her close as the screams started to come to an end. Before we both separated, we didn't have time to be lounging around. Getting back to our feet, I surveyed the area.

I felt the rage boiling off of Ella as she fired arrow after arrow into the t.i.tans around. Their numbers had dropped to the single digits and soon there would only be Colabrus and the Variants left. The kids were helping out off to the side and had racked up a few of their own kills.

I gripped Rose's shoulder as she looked at the lava pool. It had started to bubble after the last person had been thrown in. I looked at it with my spirit vision and saw that the energy inside was starting to build up and condense in the middle.

I felt my danger sense go off and knew I had to kill this boss now, and take down the dungeon before whatever was happening, happens. My voice held the determination I felt as I spoke to her.

"We may not have been able to help them. But we sure as h.e.l.l can get revenge for them."

The turmoil of emotions inside Rose suddenly stopped at my words and her eyes that had been starring at the pool turned to me. There was a little bit of insanity hidden inside. Insanity and sadism.

"Yes they will pay, painfully."

Her predatory smile sent a s.h.i.+ver down my spine. Yeap they're f.u.c.ked.
