I got into my battle stance and whipped my head in the intruder's direction.

The voice sounded familiar. As I caught sight of the intruders and Ella was preparing to sprint forwards, I froze.

Kuro?

I doubted my eyes for a second before they turned into slits.

Kuro was standing about 40 meters from me with another person. With my improved eyes sight I could see that she looked slightly haggard and had an expression of relief and excitement, as she laid her eyes on me.

The gear she was wearing was in tatters and broken in some parts. She must have been in a tough fight. My eyes rested on hers for a second before they moved to the person standing beside her.

It was a tall man at about 2 meters in height; he was also wearing a set of combat gear and had a das.h.i.+ng demeanor. He was square chinned and had dark black hair that was cut short. The same strange uneasiness spread through my body as I looked at him.

He was the same as Kuro.

What is she doing here?

My senses went into overdrive, she shouldn't be here!

No matter how I thought about it, her being here was too much of a coincidence. Not to mention with her level there is no way she made it this far into the mountains.

'To the left'

I sent Ella a short mental message before sprinting towards the right. We would pincer them. I don't know how they got here, but they had seen Ella. I don't know how they will react when they find out she's an infected.

Based on all the other encounters I've had, I don't think they'll understand.

As my eyes locked onto Kuro that was standing to the right, my pressure gushed out towards her and locked her down. I was sure my intent to kill was being sent over.

As I moved closer she finally realized that I was aiming for her life and she panicked. The excited expression she had on her face warped into fear and for the first time since I had met her, she wasn't smiling.

"Wait Liam! Listen!"

She shouted out quickly as she stumbled backwards. Even though she shouted out in such haste and the fear I could see in her was real, as I looked into her eyes, I couldn't sense a real panic, it was like me trying to kill her wasn't a big deal.

Like her dying wasn't a big deal.

It made me frown and speed up as I almost reached her.

Her companion not knowing what was happening, had drawn his own weapon and was getting ready to fight. Him being on the left, he was about to face Ella. He had no chance.

Ella being faster than me had already reached him and sent out an attack. He tried to parry the incoming blow, but as the swords crashed into each other, he let out a yelp of surprise as the force behind the blow, knocked it into the distance.

The force had also knocked him back and out of range of Ella. He was lucky that that happened as if he was not forced back, the quick second blow that Ella sent out would have instantly killed him.

'Don't kill'

I sent a quick message with my side glance and continued towards Kuro. I didn't want to kill them if I had the choice, but if they had any bad reaction to the fact Ella was an infected or didn't answer me truthfully I would kill them.

I want to know about this uneasy feeling I was getting from them.

I finally reached Kuro and she kept backing up trying to not fight. I sent a quick blow to her mid-section to see her reaction and it was surprisingly good, as her blade stopped mine.

Her stats weren't bad.

I hadn't put my whole strength into the blow so her sword wasn't sent flying.

"Please stop!"

She shouted again but I continued.

*Dang* *Dang*

I sent another 2 quick blows that were stopped before she turned quiet. Instead a steady expression filled her face as her eyes squinted. I could see the spirit energy moving through her body steadily congregate.

It sprang towards her sword and it released a blue light before she finally attacked back.

Because I out leveled her and had better stats, I could see the incoming strike and realized that I would only just be able to dodge it or parry. It was truly a fast move.

Was it a cla.s.s skill?

I had no proof that this was such a thing, but my gut was telling me it was.

I sent this distracting thought to the back of my head as I decided to end this. I could feel Ella's impatience. She had long finished her fight.

I pushed my aura to the max as her strike came towards me and locked her down. The blade visibly stalled in the air and I deftly stepped to the side and watched it go by. She showed a completely bewildered face at the easy dodge and that was when I finished the fight.

I used my quickest speed to flash my blade in front of her face and distract her eyes. After that I rotated around her and put away my blade. She was surprised by the near death experience and was completely frozen as I put her into a choke hold, before flipping her body.

I used more strength than I thought and her body flipped 4 meters in the air before she crashed back down.

I was actually surprised that her neck didn't break from that.

"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d!"

From the side the voice of the man screamed angrily at me seeing his companion get handled so roughly. I winced in my head and sent a pitying expression to the captive. He really shouldn't say that when Ella is standing above him.

"DON'T KILL HIM."

I managed to shout that out before Ella started to brutally beat down on his body. Compared to what I had just done to Kuro, what Ella was doing looked a lot more painful. Maybe it was a good thing that Ella had been practicing this type of beat down on the beasts, as she didn't actually kill him.

But there was no way he was making it out of the forest.

*Crack*

*Crack*

The bones that were being broken would make it so he couldn't survive in the apocalypse. He was done for. I know I said not to kill him, but this was almost worse, not everyone had a skill like regeneration.

I could only let out a small sigh as she finally stopped. He just lay there as moans of pain came out of his mouth. His words told me he was close to going insane.

"The pain is so Real."

Poor sap.

Just as I was thinning if it would be better to kill him, I heard another groan from in front of me and looked down.

Kuro was still alive, though my emotions didn't feel much seeing such. I didn't want to kill them, so why were my emotions so cold?

Was it because of the unease that they produced?

My mind began to wonder as her body finally started to move. It looked like none of her bones had been broken and she was struggling to orientate herself.

"Please stop. Please stop."

She repeated that as she looked at me in a meek manner. Her fear was still present in her eyes, but still no dread or trepidation that I might kill her. What was keeping her so sure that she wouldn't die, did she care if she died?

I couldn't understand her reaction; a normal person at this point would probably be breaking down. h.e.l.l I would be breaking down slightly at a near death experience with no hope of survival. I squinted my eyes at her, before turning to the b.l.o.o.d.y scene of Ella.

"Sister stop!"

I said it loud enough for her to hear and she immediately stopped.

"Yes Brother!"

I had gotten Ella to agree to call me brother when we were in the presence of others. It was a small step that was necessary, as she was very attached to calling me father. Because this was the case, I also would call her sister at times like this.

It had never happened before as we hadn't run into a group of survivors since the hospital. Well at least not together. And when Ella was alone people would instantly try and kill her.

Ella left the person alone to wallow in his pain and I continued to watch Kuro as she made her way over to her companion. She was walking slowly as I should have hurt her during that throw.

The guy's breathing was coming in faster breaths as the pain became worse, the internal bleeding would have been worse than anything else. The force behind Ella's blows would rupture something.

Ella came next to me and gave me a questioning look; she wondered why we didn't just kill them.

I rubbed her head slightly as I continued to watch Kuro make her way over.

I used a.n.a.lyze on her to see if that could clear up anything.

Name: Boosted KuroNeko

Race: Human

s.e.x: Female

Age: 18

Level: 10

Job: Newb, Warrior, Weapon Master

She was already level 10?!

I was surprised at the speed with which she had leveled. Shew was already a level 10 and had become a weapon master.

After looking at her as she slowly made her way over, I also checker her male companion.

Name: Asura Monarch

Race: Human

s.e.x: Male

Age: 19

Level: 10

Job: Newb, Warrior, Berserker

A berserker?

Having that cla.s.s would mean he would get the berserk skill?

I was only guessing that he would get the skill, as it would make no sense to have the cla.s.s and not the skill. It would defeat the purpose on the cla.s.s. Right?

I felt some sympathy as I watch Kuro finally make her way over to Asura Monarch, there was no way he would be able to survive.

Just as I was thinking about this fact, Kuro reached down towards a bag that was lying at his feet. I had completely missed this backpack before as I had been concentrating on them.

She reached into the bag and started to fish through it looking for something. After a few seconds and when the groans of pain were starting to get worse from Asura, she finally pulled out 2 bottles.

I say bottles but they were more like vials as they were very small. They were metallic and I couldn't tell what was inside them from a glance. The only visible feature that distinguished them, were the carvings on them.

They both had the same carvings, that through my spirit vision, I could tell were doing something. They both glowed a dull red in the dark light and just as an idea of what they could be popped into my head Kuro threw one down quickly.

It didn't look tasty as her face grimaced after drinking the contents. Even though this was the case, instantly after she drank the liquid her body became more vigorous and all the weakness that I felt from her before seemed to vanish.

She shook her head once before quickly lowering the other vial into Asura's mouth. He looked at the liquid and seemed to be craving it as he bent forwards and his groans of pain stopped.

Is that?

Once the liquid dropped through his mouth the changed to his body were shocking to see. Instantly his body was back to how it had been before the fight. His skin color was a healthy shade and his body rose quickly.

He had a guarded expression on his face as he wanted to grab for his sword.

Because of what I had just seen I was completely frozen solid and so was Ella. Even if they reached for their weapons we wouldn't have done anything. I'm sure Ella was just as surprised at the immediate healing of the meals she had just disciplined and couldn't make heads nor tails of what had truly happened.

But compared to her I was a lot worse, the waves of shock that battered through me were enormous as I realized what those vials were.

They were b.l.o.o.d.y Health Potions!
