Lin Fan had already been walking for a little over an hour now but to no avail, not to mention the intense pain from his shoulder, even walking now seemed difficult.

"What do I do now, it's dangerous staying the night here out in the wild, who knows if there is wild beasts or not, If I let my guard down, I could sleep but never wake up"

Lin Fan was about to have a breakdown, he was never in such a situation.

Suddenly he heard a sound of something being hit.

'Someone?! finally I found someone!' thought Lin Fan with ecstasy while forcing his body to move with what little energy he had left.

As he moved closer to the source of the sound, It became even more audible and appeared to be the sound of clas.h.i.+ng of two metallic objects.

Lin Fan looked ahead and what he saw left him tongue-tied, two men were fighting with what appeared to be swords, he couldn't make out the men's features as all he could see were two blurs and the flying sparks produced by the two swords collision.

The two men suddenly retreated, breaking the confrontation.

"You're not bad, but unfortunately, you are not my match and it appears that your head will bring me quite the benefits in the a.s.sociation, I came to collect it" said the man on the right while smirking.

"s.h.i.+ Song! don't push your luck, the difference between us isn't that great, you might die before you know it!"

"Oh, really now, I would like to find out if that's true!" said s.h.i.+ Song before das.h.i.+ng forward with his sword in hand.

The other man took his stance preparing to block s.h.i.+ Song's attack but suddenly to his astonishment s.h.i.+ Song vanished into thin air before their swords were about to meet.

"What?!" cried the man in surprise.

Suddenly the man felt the wind blowing on his neck, he reacted quickly and rolled on the ground while s.h.i.+fting his body to look behind him and he found s.h.i.+ Song was standing there smiling at him.

"How did you do that?!"

"No need to explain anything to an almost dead man." mockery could be seen flas.h.i.+ng in his eyes.

Suddenly s.h.i.+ Song disappeared again, the man became panic-stricken, observing every possible angle with his eyes, but s.h.i.+ Song was nowhere to be seen.

The man became frantic and started slas.h.i.+ng everywhere with his sword and unexpectedly sword beams started appearing with each stroke.

Trees were being cut by the beams as though they were tofu.

'What a brute' thought s.h.i.+ Song while looking at the idiot that was wrecking havoc in the forest.

'I should end this quickly before more mortals start appearing' mumbled s.h.i.+ Song while glancing at the position of Lin Fan who was standing there like an idiot who was about to s*** himself, he was nearly cut in half by some of the beams.

s.h.i.+ Song suddenly appeared and started sprinting towards the man.

"finally you're out, take this!" said the man while sending a sword beam flying at s.h.i.+ Song.

"pitiful tricks! let me show you what it truly means to be a cultivator"

said s.h.i.+ Song while striking the incoming beam with his sword.

"you're courting death!"

the moment of s.h.i.+ Song's sword shattering that the man was waiting for didn't occur, instead, the beam only lasted for less than a second and it was the one to shatter instead.

the man was startled and then he frantically started to slash with his sword, producing a barrage of light beams, but each and every beam had the same fate as the first one.

"wh-what?! h-how?!"

"like I said, only pitiful tricks" said s.h.i.+ Song while looking at the man with cold eyes.

"I beg you! sp-spare me"

s.h.i.+ Song smiled at the man and said softly "N.O"

a flash of light appeared and it lasted a few seconds before disappearing, the man's head was already rolling on the ground with resentment and hate apparent in his dead eyes.

s.h.i.+ Song bent and picked up the head and looked at those eyes filled with hate "you can only blame yourself for your weakness".

after tossing the head in his hands a few times as though it was a piece of stone he stored it in a black leather sack.

As for Lin Fan who was standing there observing the whole scene from beginning to end.

Astonishment was apparent on his face as he couldn't believe his eyes, a blank look appeared on his face.

putting aside the whole fighting scene with light beams flying everywhere and the speed that the two men displayed which was inhuman....someone had just died in front of him and also in such a gruesome way, Lin Fan couldn't help but start vomiting as the scene was just too disgusting.

during the fight, he wanted to run so bad, to escape from this place..but he felt that if he really ran, something terrible would have happened, he felt as though someone had him locked-on.

s.h.i.+ Song looked at Lin Fan and revealed a smile..but to Lin Fan that smile looked no different from the smile of a demon in the depth of h.e.l.l, he felt his whole body becoming ice-cold.

s.h.i.+ Song suddenly appeared in front of Lin Fan,

Lin Fan couldn't help but start trembling "wh-what do you want!"

"you have seen too much kid" said s.h.i.+ Song with his ice-cold eyes paired with his smile that doesn't fit well with the look in his eyes.

"I- I wont tell anyone, I swear!"

"this is not just about you not telling anyone anymore but don't worry since today I am in a good mood I won't kill you" said s.h.i.+ Song.

"th-then what will you do?" said Lin Fan with despair in his eyes, he felt it was better dying by the fall earlier than standing here in front of this demon.

"I will just erase your memories of the past two hours, but who knows, the success rate isn't that high, I am afraid you might become a vegetable, but unfortunately, you don't have a choice now do you?"

"N-No p-"

"enough! I have no time for this!" s.h.i.+ Song's hand started s.h.i.+ning in a bright white colour and he immediately struck Lin Fan's forehead with his palm.

Lin Fan tried to dodge. but to no avail, he felt completely helpless.

Lin Fan felt that his brain was being p.r.i.c.ked by a thousand needles and something was trying to be forced out of it, it was unbearable.

Lin Fan couldn't stand the pain anymore and lost conscious.

s.h.i.+ Song looked at the already fainted Lin Fan, 'that should do the trick, even though I want to stay and see if you became a vegetable or not, I have some matters to attend' smiled s.h.i.+ Song before turning around and leaving in flash.

As for Lin Fan...he was lying on the ground covered with dust and mud and an endless stream of sweat was falling from his frowning forehead.
