"Here comes the first wave." James exclaimed excitedly as he sent the first group of mobs rus.h.i.+ng towards the two warring groups of adventurers. His initial strike force was meant to catch the large group of BLANKs party members off guard. They were currently focused on bringing down the summoned mobs from the two-pet cla.s.s adventurers and were solely focused on that task. Of course, James figured that was partly hubris, granted how easily they had walked through his swampland so far, and how easily they had been dispatching mobs.
James also figured they felt relatively safe, given the number of traps that Crikey had laid around their position, and the ever-swirling protective wall of s.h.i.+elds that SpinToWin had up. Attacking such a fortified group, especially with melee type units, was usually extremely ill advised. But James didn't care. Because that was exactly what he planned to do.
Phase one of operation Get Stuffed, the name James and Rue had given to this aid mission, was to clear out all the traps. To do that, James a.s.signed Four of his Giant Playthons, each with a mounted knight, to rush the adventurers. With their ma.s.sive size and health pool, James expected the Giant Playthons to actually pave the way for his later units. The mounted knights on top, with their long reaching lances, were also the most capable to reach in past the wall of spinning s.h.i.+elds.
He really didn't expect this wave of mobs to do that much damage to the adventurers. After all, there were four of them, two of which were level 39, and James was just sending in eight level 34 mobs to attack them. Not something that would bring them down. But this was just the start of the games. The opening attack, the quick zealot rush before he followed up with dragoons! Er...snuggle-woofs.
As expected, the mobs, when they clashed with the party, didn't have much impact. However, they did exactly what James had wanted them to, and then some. The ma.s.sive size of the Giant Playthons made them quite formidable within the swamps. The fact they were stuffed animals in a giant swamp, made them doubly so. Their ma.s.sive forms sucked in the swampy water, making them even more dense and stuffed. Plus, it gave them an added effect that James hadn't even planned on. Apparently, swamp soaked Playthons smelled terrible.
As the four Giant Playthons worked in unison to surround the party, going in a circle pattern counter to the circling wall of s.h.i.+elds, the mounted knights tried their best to land attacks. Of course, not only were they contending with the fact that the centurion cla.s.s's swirling s.h.i.+elds were blocking attacks, but their mounts weren't exactly having an easy time circling their foes.
One of the giant Playthons had three large bear traps stuck its side. Another had snagged itself on some type of jagged spike strip Crikey had planted. Ripping itself free of the trap had torn a ma.s.sive whole in the poor mob, spilling out stuffing like crazy. Crikey also seemed to have thrown down a few traps that operated very much like mines and claymores. One of the Giant Playthons was barely able to move having taken a rather large explosive blast to its upper part of its body.
Their close proximity to the party members also put themselves in grave risk of attacks from the chaotic sorcerer. Not only that, but Axel42 and FlashFyre's mobs had continued launching their attacks, raining damage and devastation in a wide birth around the party. Meaning James's mobs were also taking the splash damage. A loud cheer as two of the Playthons went down, coming from the direction of the gate, told James that the duo had leveled up to level 30. Which meant now, they were likely to stick around for the rest of the fight. Which was perfect.

"Do I have to do everything myself?" SoulDemon yelled out as he watched his party members getting surrounded. He had finished a third adventurer, leaving him dueling just Stryker123 and a rather tanky cleric by the name of Nyx. The cleric had chosen not the option of light, but instead was a cleric of war. Essentially, he was like a paladin, but minus the damage ability and with stronger healing ability. Which was why he and Stryker123 were the last two standing against SoulDemon. The only thing going for Stryker123 and Nyx was the fact that SoulDemon's cooldown skills had worn off.
"Well, you're the one that split the freaking party mate." Crickey called out even as he fiddled with a new trap in his hand. He tossed the object towards the nearest Giant Plaython, one of the two remaining, and the trap lit up with a rapid set of flas.h.i.+ng lights. The Giant Plaython stopped dead in its tracks, apparently stunned by the ball, as it flew closer to the mob. The moment it impacted the Giant Plaython's large stuffed head, the flas.h.i.+ng ball exploded, taking the mob with it. The poor mounted knight was flung backwards by the attack, and actually splashed down into the swamp atop the spike trap.
Crikey let out a loud cheer, and made a motion with his hand, pulling up his own window. "On the other hand, achievements for days in here guys. Just got one called UnBearable. Ha"
SoulDemon unleashed a set of rapid attacks towards Stryker123, causing the paladin to take multiple quick steps backwards, unable to block the phantom attacks with his large s.h.i.+eld. Just before the phantom blade was able to land an attack on the paladin, Nyx came through with a glowing mace. The weapon smashed down near the phantom blade and sent out a burst of light, causing SoulDemon to curse out loud and jump back. It seemed his phantom state increased physical dodge, but magical aoe damage was still a danger to him.
"And we will hunt them all down later. For now, I thought we were going to farm some PvP achievements." SoulDemon growled in Nyx's direction as the cleric began chanting, preparing another smite. The two were trying their best against SoulDemon, but James could see the two members of Stryke Force were low on mana and running out of life. "After all, I'm sure the PvP achievements are worth more experience."
"He makes a good point." James mumbled to Rue. Considering the fact that Dungeon Wars unlocked at Tier 3, that meant the achievements players were going to get from them would have to be level appropriate. Which meant this dungeon war was going to be a good experience farm not only for James and BLANK, but also their players. James figured given SoulDemon and his friends' levels, they had probably gone achievement hunting quite often within BLANKs dungeon, on top of working a small three-man team. Meaning they were even more skilled than James had initially given them credit for. That was fine though, because it just meant James had to up his plan
"You going to ask them out on a date next?" Rue stuck her tongue out at James but nodded in agreement. "But yeah, they are good players, I'll give them that."
"However, you and I both know, being good isn't enough to survive in a dungeon." James grinned as he turned back to his a.s.sembled mobs. He had initially planned to launch these mobs out in three more waves. One consisting of snuggle woofs, one consisting of jolly dollies, and then the final one with his remaining teddy knights and giant Playthons, all buffed by the crazy and awesome funky monkeys. His further evaluation of the top players from BLANKs dungeon though, made him change his mind. Especially because he got the sense Crikey and SpinToWin weren't far off from level 40. And James really wanted that sweet experience from their deaths.
