Henry and Deke stood at the front while Lola stood behind them.
"Tonight we strike back using the darkness as our cover. Choose important targets and above all else make sure you come back alive. I don't want to bury any more people than I already do." Ben gave a short speech before disappearing from the wall. The Shadows soon joined him.
Das.h.i.+ng through the forest, Ben slowed down after hearing some noise. In front of him was three large mutant zombies trudging through the forest. Deke and Henry creeped next to Ben and he gave them a slight nod before disappearing into the darkness.
From the darkness, three flashes of steel were seen as three bodies fell to the ground with a thump.
"Keep moving." Ben said quietly as he sheathed his Ninjato.
They continued their way towards the camp, killing scouts and other zombies along the way. Finally they reach the edge of the camp and saw a huge army with beasts all standing around one zombie.
'The king…' Ben cursed in his heart.
He was talking in grunts and gurgles so Ben was unable to understand what he was saying but the zombies reacted with a roar and started towards the city.
Ben paled when he realized they were attacking. Taking out a communication jade he sent messages to everyone he could trying to warn them and get a response. Not having any luck he turned towards the Shadows.
"One of you go back and warn them! Now!" Ben said urgently.
"Shouldn't we all go back?" Henry asked.
"The King always stays at the back with his strongest soldiers. This could be a chance deal a blow to their strength." Ben said as he watched countless zombies marching towards his city.
The Shadows eyes light up as they all watch the army pa.s.s them. Ben frowned when he saw a large herd of beasts stampeding towards the city.
'Are they going to deploy their beasts?' Ben wondered. Duke, Ava and Takon were all in his soul realm and now in the city to defend.
Ben and the Shadows waited until the army had pa.s.sed before he released his soul beasts.
"Once we retreat from our attack I want Takon and Ava to use their flames to inflict as much damage as possible. If you sense any danger, retreat immediately." Ben said sternly to his two flying beasts, knowing they liked to show off.
They both nodded, hearing the seriousness in Ben's voice.
"Duke you're with me." Ben said as he turned and followed the army, the Shadows soon followed.
Soon they were able to the army and the siege on the city's walls. Lizard beasts were climbing straight up the walls as mages and archers shot them down. A few made it to the top and killed a few people before a warrior killed them.
Though it looked even, Ben knew the zombies were still hiding their power and knew this balance wouldn't last.
Like it was on cue, the king zombie make a loud grunt and ten tall and skinny zombies came forward and started mumbling grunts and growls. Suddenly their hands lit up with magic and spells were sent at the top of the wall, causing havoc.
'Mages!' Ben thought, stunned. The magic they used wasn't elemental magic but instead was grey and lifeless. When it came into contact with a warrior on the wall, the warrior seemed to have aged and decayed before dying.

In a flash the wall was being overrun by lizards and the zombie mages stopped their magic and let the lizards do the work.
Ben's expression hardened, turning around he looked at the Shadows. "Those 10 mages are our new targets. We must end them at all costs." he said firmly.
The Shadows all nodded their heads, they had seen the power and destruction these mages had.
"On my mark." Ben said as he disappeared into the darkness.
A second later, one of the zombie mages head fell to the ground and the Shadows attacked.
The king, with his sharp senses, yelled and mutant zombies came to defend the mages.
It was too late though.
The mages bodies were not strong like normal mutant zombies and Ben was able to cut through them like b.u.t.ter.
The Shadows also did their job and killed all ten zombie mages before retreating. Duke was covering their retreat and attacking the mutant reinforcements.
"Ava! Takon! Now!" Ben yelled as he retreated with Duke.
Two large shadows emerged from the night sky and white flames suddenly covered the earth, making it look breathtaking and destructive at the same time. Zombies screeches filled the air as the flames burned through the army. Ava released her flames as well, making the white and black flames balance each other.
Ben and the Shadows fled back to the city. The lizards were still attacking fiercely and the wall was starting to flow with blood. Jumping on the wall, Ben saw his army in a fierce battle with these lizards.
Colton's arms were covered with flames as he punched a lizard in the head, causing it to explode.
Lance was defending a group of healers by himself against four lizards, his s.h.i.+eld and armour was scratched and bloodied.
James was dancing around, seemed to be flying with the wind under his feet, killing lizards with every swing.
Lilith, who was the most impressive, glowed white like a beacon as she heal and sent out beams of light killing lizards. Finally she used her strongest spell, covering Lance, Colton and James in a cloak of holy energy, healing their injuries and buffing them.
Ben quickly entered the fray, instantly making an impact on the fight. Soon what was left of the lizards retreated down the wall. The wall was enveloped in silence, no one was cheering or happy because their losses were to great.
"Heal the wounded and bury the dead. Everyone get some sleep. I'll keep watch the rest of the night." Ben told the soldiers. His four generals approached him.
"Shenelle was injured. Badly." Lilith said solemnly.
"Can you heal her?" Ben asked.
"It will take a while. Right now we are rotating healers on her but that undead magic is keeps eating away at her. Her magic is the only thing keeping it at bay." Lilith said with a dark face.
"I'll take care of it. Go rest." Ben said as he walked toward the medical tent.
Lilith looked at him incredulous. 'He will take care of it?' Her healing would be able to fully heal her but it would take a couple of days and exhaust her magic each day and Ben said he would heal her?
Lilith followed him to the tent, not wanting to miss it, while the others all headed to bed.
Moans and cries of pain were heard as he approached the tent. Entering it, Ben saw soldiers laying on the ground with various wounds as healers scurried around trying to heal everyone.
A healer approached Ben and said, "City Lord I take it you are here for Miss Shenelle?"
Ben nodded and she guided them to a private section of the tent. Opening the flap, Ben saw two healers placing their hands under Shenelle's right breast as white light flowed from their hands.
Shenelle's green robe was ripped and bloodied while her face looked white and pained.
"Thank you but I will take it from here." Ben said, excusing the two healers.
They left, leaving Shenelle, Lilith and Shenelle alone in the room.
Fyr floated around Shenelle's head, looking worried about her master. When she saw Ben, she flew straight into his face.
"Strong man! Heal Ellie!" she cried at Ben.
"Of course." Ben gave a tired smile.
Ben approached her and looked the wound. It was grey and slowly made the skin turn grey with age. Ben lifted the fabric higher, revealing part of her b.o.o.b.
"Hey!" she yelled, glaring at him.
"Get over yourself. I just want to see the wound." Ben said, examining the wound.
Ben placed his hand on the wound, causing Shenelle to flush red. Closing his eyes, he started to absorb Natural Energy from the surroundings and channel it into Shenelle.
Lying there in pain, Shenelle suddenly felt a warmth come over her as energy filled her body as drove out the undead energy.
Ben opened his eyes, his face covered with exhaustion. Channeling the energy into a person was a lot of work and mentally and physically exhausted him. Seeing the wound was healed her turned to leave.
"Strong man! Give me that energy!"
