Chapter 16 - Hard As Metal

ShangGuan Yan Lan was still small at this time. Even if she came with a motive, she was only a thirteen-year-old child. The temporary change had made her somewhat unprepared. She could only said awkwardly: "Xuan-er, cousin is just thinking of aunt and uncle and become very upset. I feel regretful that I can't come earlier to accompany you."

Come earlier? Ling Xuan snorted in her heart, thinking that ShangGuan family did not even discuss the measures properly, would they come earlier? "Cousin has this heart is already very good. After all, my mother was a married daughter, it was not the same as before!" On the face, nothing was revealed. Sadness was the only expression and the words that was said out sounded very distant.

"How can it be different? Father and mother actually wanted to come visit, but aunt and uncle are not buried yet, if they come too often, it will lead to unnecessary troubles. That was why they suppressed the sadness in their hearts and did not come!" ShangGuan Yan Lan eyes was red as she explained, "Xuan-er, you should also know, my father and aunt's relations.h.i.+p was always good. When father knew something happened to aunt, he cried so much, I have never seen father cried before."

In her past life, the words spoken by ShangGuan Yan Lan could moved Ling Xuan's heart immediately, but in this lifetime, it was already impossible. Regardless of the purpose of the ShangGuan family, Ling Xuan's heart was already as hard as metal.

"The day after tomorrow is the day my parents will be buried. Cousin, you go back and inform uncle and aunt, ask them to come earlier on that day. You should go back first for today." Ling Xuan found that she was not even willing to give the most basic social interaction anymore. Reason being that ShangGuan Yan Lan was still too young.

ShangGuan Yan Lan looked at the unfamiliar cousin in front of her eyes, thinking of what her parents had told her. If she came today and said something soft, Yun Ling Xuan would be so sad and cry into her arms.  How come she was so cold towards her?

"Xuan-er, why did you bring her here?" When ShangGuan Yan Lan, who was originally looking for an excuse, saw Yun Ling Yan standing beside Yun Ling Xuan, her eyes flashed with a bit of disgust, and she asked rudely.

When Yun Ling Yan looked at ShangGuan Yan Lan's disgusted eyes, she became afraid and hide behind Yun Ling Xuan. However, Ling Xuan pulled her out and made her stand beside her and then she said seriously to ShangGuan Yan Lan, "She is my biological sister. Cousin, if she don't stand here, she should go where?"

Biological, always the closest, even when about to be beheaded, Yan-er's eyes only have blame but no hatred. This had made her heart hurt so much, no one would knows about it.

She would prefer the Yun family people to hate her, but the they never did. They were only not able to accept the Yun family's wealth was swallowed by the greedy people.

ShangGuan Yan Lan took a glimpse of Yun Ling Yan who was feeling scared. After that she reached out and grabbed Ling Xuan, took her to one corner and secretly whispered into her ears.

"Xuan-er, what's wrong with you? I am your cousin, why do you look like u saw an enemy?  Have you forgotten? Yun Ling Yan's mother wanted to s.n.a.t.c.h your father away and wanted to chase away your mother. You treat her so good, how are you going to live up to your dead mother? And, you are so good to her, do you intend to give Yun's family wealth to her?" ShangGuan Yan Lan asked these questions that had been in her heart for awhile and she had said it to Yun Ling Xuan previously as well.

In the past, as long as she said it, she would listen, and there had never been a reb.u.t.tal.

These words, were taught by her mother at home. She must persuade Ling Xuan to dislike Yun Ling Yan so that it would be good for the ShangGuan family.
