When Mingyue woke up, she found a pair of eyes staring at her. She was surprised and wanted to move away, but the way that pair of eyes look at her made her stop. It was full of love and pampered.

For a while, none of them choose to look away or say anything. Soon, she found herself lost in her husband's eyes.

To think that after six years, they finally consummated their marriage…

The thought of what happened between them last night made her face grew hot. The two of them tumbled into bed, and in that night, she felt drugged by his kisses and touch. In the end, she was too tired to move, and he had carried her into the bathroom. She could not remember how long they hold each other until she fell asleep.

Mingyue pulled up the blanket to cover her face and heard his low, vibrating chuckle. Because they both had woken up, Yang Yun's voice sounded very pleasing to her ears.

"Good morning, wife."

A coy smile bloomed on her face when she heard his morning greeting. Then, Mingyue peeked from the blanket, leaving only her eyes and above to be seen. She stared at him and said, "Good morning."

However, upon hearing her voice, Mingyue lowered her gaze again. It was then that she realized that her throat was a little sore. Suddenly, she was embarra.s.sed. Mingyue tried to s.h.i.+ft around under the blanket and paused as she felt her body sore all over.

Seeing the frown on her face, Yang Yun started to feel distressed. "What's wrong?" He moved closer to her to check on her.

"I'm fine," she said quickly. "I'm just a little sore." Her voice gradually turned into a whisper.

Yang Yun stared at her in a daze. His hand that was caressing her arms stopped abruptly. He went closer and kissed her on the forehead. "I'm sorry." A smile formed on his lips as Mingyue hid her face timidly under the cover again. Yang Yun touched her hair and paused when he heard a grumbling sound coming from her stomach.

Mingyue froze as she cursed under her breath. To think that her stomach would make a sound at a time like this… she was embarra.s.sed.

The bed s.h.i.+fted again, and Mingyue felt Yang Yun left. She heard the bathroom door shut and heaved a long sigh. Slowly, she tried to move around.

The bathroom door opened again. Yang Yun sauntered towards her and placed another kiss on her hair. "I'm going to make some breakfast. When you're ready, come out and eat, hmm?"

Mingyue lifted her head to look at him. Then, she nodded.

Mingyue walked out of the room only when she had cleaned up herself and her room. When Mingyue went to the small dining area, the table was full of food. Mingyue stared at the steamed bun and hot soy milk in awe. "You make all these?"

"Only the sweet potato porridge. I got the steamed bun and soy milk from the store across the street," Yang Yun admitted. "I couldn't find enough ingredients to make enough food." He placed the cutlery on the table and frowned. "I don't know how you live without enough food in this house."

" I spent most of my time in the hospital," Mingyue said as she took a seat. "Usually, I ate my breakfast when I arrived and had dinner before I went back home. Basically, I had three meals in the hospital."

The frown on Yang Yun's face deepened. He had tried those foods in the hospital canteen before and thought that, although they can be considered nutritional, they were tasteless.

"It looks like I will have to be in charge of preparing your food from now on."

Mingyue took a sip from the hot soy milk. "What do you mean? Don't you always prepare lunch for me?"

Yang Yun smiled. It was true that he always find the chance to prepare lunch for his wife, and the two would always eat together whenever they had time. "In the future, I will prepare breakfast and dinner as well."

Mingyue looked at him and smiled. "Really? Are you trying to make me fat?"

"It's good if I can fatten you up. Then, you won't leave my side."

Mingyue bit her lips. "Yang Yun, I'm sorry."

Once her memories had returned, Mingyue had always felt guilty for leaving Yang Yun and her family. And this matter would still be the knot in her heart.

Yang Yun went to her side and crouched down. Then, he held her chin softly and tilted her head up, making her look into his eyes. "Mingyue, you don't have to be sorry. Didn't I tell you that everything is alright now that you're by my side?"

"I know, but still, whenever I thought of everyone after I disappeared, I felt sorry."

"You don't have to feel that way," Yang Yun tried to coax. "You dug out that herbs to save the Princess's life. We all know how important that is to you. Princess Lingchen is not only the Princess of Da Cheng. She is also your cousin and friend. She's our family. You and Grandfather had been looking for the herbs for years. Besides, it was not your choice to disappear."

Mingyue sniffed.

It was her luck that she had found the Shadow Gra.s.s. If she did not dig out the herbs before it disappeared, Mingyue knew that she would regret it. But, because of that, she had missed out six years of their life together.

Back then, they were newlyweds. How painful was it for Yang Yun to watch her disappear and live his life without her? Mingyue knew how much Yang Yun love her because she loved him the same.

She was gone, but not dead. She was alive, but they could not see each other.

At least, when they were separated, Mingyue had lost her memories of Yang Yun and everyone else. She doesn't think that she will be able to live with the pain while Yang Yun had to face each day with the memories of her.

And when he had found her… Mingyue had forgotten everything.

In the end, Yang Yun told her that he did not blame her. None of them thought that her action was reckless. They all understood that it was vital for her to find a cure for the Princess.

In fact, if time turned back around, and she was forced to face the same situation, Mingyue did not doubt that she will make the same choice. And if the same thing happened again, Yang Yun will never blame her and, instead, find his way to look for her.

Yang Yun cupped her face with his hands and wiped the tears that started to flow down her cheek. He rose up and pulled her into his embrace, pressing her face to his chest.

Once her tears stopped, Yang Yun helped to clean her face. Then, he turned Mingyue's body around to face the food on the table.

"Now eat," Yang Yun said. "Didn't you say you were going back to the Lin's residence today?"
