Hearing the door swung open, Yang Yun s.h.i.+fted his gaze from the television towards the door and watched as Xue Yi Ming walked in. The two men exchanged a brief greet.

At this time, Xiao Mi jumped off from a chair and went to the door to greet Xue Yi Ming with a long meow.

Yang Yun looked at Xiao Mi, who was trying to act cute by nudging his head on Xue Yi Ming's leg and scoffed.

Xiao Mi was a smart cat. He knew that Xue Yi Ming would always give him the best food and would pamper him. Therefore, Xiao Mi would often behave when Xue Yi Ming was around.

As if hearing Yang Yun's scoff, Xiao Mi stopped at Xue Yi Ming's leg and turned to look at Yang Yun. The man and cat stared at each other for a while before Xue Yi Ming picked up Xiao Mi and carried him to the kitchen.

Seconds later, Xue Yi Ming walked out, carrying a bowl of cat food. He placed the bowl on the floor, and Xiao Mi immediately ate.

"Have you had dinner yet?" Yang Yun asked. Seeing Xue Yi Ming shook his head, Yang Yun continued to speak, "I left some noodles for you in the kitchen. You should eat them if you're hungry."

At the mention of food, Xue Yi Ming's face brightened up. He thanked Yang Yun before he entered the kitchen again. A few minutes later, he came back with a bowl of noodles. Yang Yun glanced at his friend, and then at Xiao Mi.

"Right," Yang Yun turned to Xue Yi Ming. "Didn't you said you were going back to your family house to discuss wedding? How was it? Did you succeed in convincing your family to hasten the wedding?"

Xue Yi Ming slurped the noodles and chewed. He only spoke once he had swallowed down the food. "It's good. My family was upset initially, but they agree to this marriage. But we're still debating on the date."

The thought of the wedding was making Xue Yi Ming distressed. A few days ago, he went back to Xue's family residence and was given a scold from his parents and grandfather because he decided to propose to General Lin's daughter before consulting his elders.

After that unexpected proposal, General Lin had made a call to Father Xue, and the two friends had a bit of talk about Xue Yi Ming's proposal. Although General Lin had watched as Xue Yi Ming grew up, he was still displeased with the way Xue Yi Ming do his thing.

Xue Yi Ming finished his bowl of noddles and tilted his head to look at Yang Yun. "Right. Lin Tian Yu and I were planning to get our marriage certificate next week."

"Certificate?"

"Mingyue," Yang Yun said. He switched off the television, stood up from the sofa and went back to his room. Yang Yun sighed when he found Xiao Mi sleeping on his bed. As if he knew that it was his owner on the other line, Xiao Mi let out a meow.

"Hmm," Yang Yun sat down on the bed and asked, "What are you doing? It's late. Why haven't you sleep yet?"

"I'm going to bed soon," Mingyue said. "Yang Yun, I miss you."

Yang Yun chuckled. "Well, I miss you too, wife."

Jiang Mingyue giggled at the other line. "I tried to talk to my dad today, but he was busy. These past few days, the family was busy with planning my sister's wedding."

"Take your time. You don't have to rush it," Yang Yun said. "We still have three months."

"Three months isn't that long," Mingyue said. "I was afraid that if I continue to delay this matter and tell them just when we were about to leave, then my parents will be sad. They won't have enough time to prepare themselves."

A small smile curved on Yang Yun's lips. He understood Mingyue the most. His wife is someone who would be considerate towards the people she cared for.

"Then, do you need me to go over and stay with you when you tell them the truth?"

"Thank you. But this matter is something that I have to do myself." Mingyue paused as she took a deep breath. "My dad should be free tomorrow. I will try to talk to him again tomorrow."
