Jiang Wenxu regretted a bit what he did. These past years his environment had been very stressful and his temper had become even worse than before. Despite this, Jiang Wenxu didn't really have a habit of beating He Zhishu. In this case, he knew that he was guilty, but still must save face.

“I told you not to be too trusting of other people.” said Jiang Wenxu. “Your friend is definitely not a good person. Don't meet him again.”

He Zhishu pushed him away and sat up. He gently pinched his red cheeks and whispered, “You are not a good person. Let's not meet again.”

He Zhishu paused for a while, then spoke again.

“At first, all I thought about was being with you, even if I had a hard time. I was happy for seven or ten years, and I didn't expect that everything would change. You changed, and I changed. “No. I want to break up with you.” said He Zhishu.

He took his phone and sent a message to Ai Ziyu.

“Arrange the chemotherapy for me.”

Jiang Wenxu lost his forbearance and grabbed Jiang Wenxu by the arm.

“Don't joke with me.” he said angrily. “I am serious. I'm a very stubborn person and you know that.”

Jiang Wenxu tightened his grip on He Zhishu's wrist and choked him. Holding him by the neck he dragged He Zhishu towards the door.

“You f.u.c.k, go out! Go out now!” he yelled.

Despite the tension, Jiang Wenxu thought this was a quarrel, something they normally do. He didn't expect He Zhishu to speak up. He was all consumed by anger and wasn't thinking clearly. He could not bear such anger and had to vent it out violently. He threw He Zhishu out the door and shut the door. Poor He Zhishu was cold, only wearing thin clothes and slippers. It was less cold in the elevator but He Zhishu could not reach it. He was too weak. He just sat beside the door, curled up, hugged his knees and buried his face in them, shaking violently. His nose began to bleed again. As he wiped the blood with his s.h.i.+rt his vision began to blur. He felt very cold, not only his body but also from within. He felt as thought there was a hole in his heart and the wind scream through it. Right there, all his affection for Jiang Wenxu, the man he loved for 14 years melted away. He began to hallucinate. He saw himself in a dark corridor of his high school. There, a high-ranking English boy walked by holding a ball blocking the light, laughing like crazy wolf.
