After staying with the two corpses for a long time, the four of them came out with sullen expressions. Mother Huang was so worn out that she needed Father Huang to support her as she walked. Shen Qi was s.p.a.cing out and Zhi Hei wasn't looking any better. Father Huang took Mother Huang home while Zhi Hei and Shen Qi stayed behind.

Zhi Hei asked Chen Mu: "Did they die very painfully?"

chen Mu: "They were drugged and didn't show any signs of struggling. Plus, you guys didn't hear screams so they shouldn't have been able to felt the pain from the fire."

Zhi Hei's hands clenched to a fist, "At least it was not as painful."

Chen Mu sighed, "I can't say anything to comfort you during these times, but if she was still here, she wouldn't want to see any of you feeling sad for them. You need to be strong and avenge for them. The fire was timed and would've exploded, you two were lucky that your car wasn't next to it when it happened."

Zhi Hei closed his eyes and sighed, "My heart died when that fire erupted in front of my eyes. Once again, right in front of me, she was in danger. This time, I lost her completely." his eyes reddened and voice was a bit broken.

Shen Qi couldn't mutter a word and silently stared at his phone screen. His lock screen was a picture of Hui Yan smiling happily looking at him. He continuously rubbed her face on the screen. Drips of tears fell onto his phone screen and the mist blurred his vision. He sniffled and held the phone to his chest as he closed his eyes and leaned backwards.

Zhi Hei and Shen Qi didn't want to go back to their house and remind themselves of their lovers. They decided to go to a nearby bar with Chen Mu. Shot after shot, both of them were trying to get themselves drunk. They didn't have any appet.i.te to eat or mood to sleep. The shots were like sleeping pills to them. If two shots didn't do the trick, then they'll take two more. Chen Mu couldn't stand seeing these two being in so much pain. That night, Chen Mu didn't drink a sip of alcohol. He accompanied the two men until they were drunk and unconscious. He carried them back to the lab and laid them in separate beds before resting on his chair.

This night, Zhi Hei and Shen Qi had the most wonderful dream.

Zhi Hei saw s.h.i.+ Xue wearing her off shoulder dress and was happily calling out his name. She was smiling cheerfully and dragging him around the garden. He hugged her close to his embrace and smelled her sweet fragrance. Tears flowed down his face as he felt like his heart came back completely. His heart felt like it was beating again. This girl was alright and telling him to play with her. He followed her around and pushed her on the swings. When she got tired, he put her to bed and cuddled with her. It was a blissful dream.

In Shen Qi's dream, Hui Yan was teasing him about his laundry again. She was lecturing and scolding him repeatedly until her face turned pink. He touched her face and gave her a tiny peck. Her frown instantly turned into a bright smile. She giggled and whispered that she loved him into his ears. He made a brunch for the two of them and she playfully put whip cream onto his face. She laughed heartily and happily. He kissed her and they slept through the day. It was so peaceful and simple that he smiled as he dozed off to sleep.

Unfortunately, their dreams came to an end. When they woke up, the spot beside them was empty and cold. They were in one of the rooms in the lab. Their heads ached painfully as they recalled what happened yesterday. "Right.. she's gone.. gone..."

the two men got off the bed and walked out sloppily. Chen Mu could barely recognize them when they walked out. Chen Mu sighed again before reminding them, "Hui Yan and s.h.i.+ Xue wouldn't want to see the two of you this way. You two need to get yourselves together and avenge for them. They can't die for no reason."

"You're right. Those b.i.t.c.hes will be dead very soon." Zhi Hei whispered as he walked down the empty hall with Shen Qi behind him.
