After eating dinner with s.h.i.+ Xue and Hui Yan, Qian Ling proceeded to the next step of their plans. In order for them to safely and secretly sneak into the engagement party, they must have some kind of identification or invitation. These were some issues that Qian Ling needed to figure out. As she brainstormed different ideas, she heard coo sounds coming from the bird cage.

"Aha! This should do~" she stroked the pigeon's head with her finger.

She sat down and wrote a small note before tying it to the pigeon's leg. She gave the pigeon a peck before releasing it. The pigeon flew and disappeared under the night sky.

-Huang Mansion-

Mother Huang was packing Hui Yan's favorite clothing and accessories. She touched the soft fabric and sighed. Her mind was filled with Hui Yan twirling and humming happily in these clothes. Father Huang hugged her gently as he brought her a bowl of herb medicine. After the dental results came out, Mother Huang was in a bad condition. She lost her appet.i.te and wasn't able to sleep peacefully at night. Even if she manages to fall asleep, she'll wake up from nightmares of Hui Yan screaming in the car for help. Father Huang was more worried about her condition and how long she would be able to last if her health deteriorates.

The couple's attention turned towards the pigeon by the window. It was rare for any birds to fly to their house especially during this time of the night. Father Huang had no time and mood to play with the pigeon so he tried to shoo it away. The pigeon flew into the room and landed on Mother Huang's lap. It stared at Mother Huang for a while and rubbed it's tiny head on her.

Mother Huang's expression changed instantly. 'This pigeon seems awfully familiar to us or else it wouldn't have gone this close to us.' She lifted her hand and gently rubbed the pigeon's head. The pigeon responded with coo-ing sounds and rubbed it's head to her hand in response.

Father Huang also noticed the friendliness of the pigeon and became interested in it. He walked over and stroked it's head as well. Mother Huang smiled, "It's you! Xiao Feng. didn't you disappear after Xiao Ling's accident? We couldn't find you anywhere for the past years!"

The pigeon was flapping it's wings happily and made some funny movements trying to hint to the couple that he was here as a messenger.

Mother Huang patted it's body, "You used to be our messenger for Xiao Ling haha. What brings you here after so lon-" she noticed a red mini ribbon and a small note attached to it's legs. Father Huang noticed the long pause and followed her sight to the pigeon's leg. He quickly untied the string and took the note from the pigeon's leg.

Mother Huang, "... could this be from.."

Father Huang opened the note and nodded, "It's from her. Only she can direct Xiao Feng to us and this note..."

The note was filled with number codes. Back then, the Huang couple and Qian Ling would exchange small notes using their own made up number codes. Just in case that the small note would end up in somebody else's hands, Qian Ling wrote it in codes that only the three of them knew.

After decoding the message, the Huang couple excitedly hugged each other.

"Our daughter!! s.h.i.+ Xue too!! They're still alive!!! they're safe!! Xiao Ling's also alive!! I don't know how this happened, but.. they're safe thank goodness."

Father Huang joyfully chanted, "We need to make preparations for them! Let's do what Xiao Ling asked for! We can ask her for details later.. but first.."

"s..should we tell Zhi Hei and Shen Qi?? They're still worried sick!!"

"We should! But not through phone, she said our wires may be tracked."

"Hurry! Get the driver! We're going to Zhi Hei's right now. Get him to have Shen Qi there!!"

"Wait wait, wouldn't it be too obvious if we all gathered there?"

"We can call and say we have something from Hui Yan to give to him and have him meet us at Zhi Hei's!"

When they arrived, the butlers greeted the couple and directed them to Zhi Hei's study room. The room was dark and papers were scattered all over the floor. Zhi Hei was sitting on the couch with a gla.s.s of wine in his hands. His hair was a mess and he looked very depressed. After s.h.i.+ Xue's death, he had been drinking every night to knock himself out.

Mother Huang quickly walked over to him and took the gla.s.s of wine away from him, "Zhi Hei!!!! What are you doing? Now's not the time to be drinking!!!"

"Mom, only when I am drunk I could sleep in peace and see her in my dreams. She's waiting for me."

"You're half right. She's waiting for all of us, but not in this way! She's alive. Hui Yan's also alive!! Do you hear me?"

"Mom, the dental results already confirmed their ident.i.ty."

"I cant explain things too clearly, but we have more important things to do right now!! They are alive and we may be tracked so they can't come back to us yet. They will appear at the engagement party and needs us to help them get an invitation or disguise! Do you hear me???"

"Mom..." he thought that his mother had lost her mind after learning the death of Hui Yan and s.h.i.+ Xue.

Father Huang walked over and patted him on the shoulders, "It is true. We received an insider message from a trustworthy person who told us all this. Things would be explained more clearly once we meet them at the party."

Meanwhile, Shen Qi had arrived and entered the mansion. He made his way to the study room. He heard half of their conversation and stood there. He heard them say that Hui Yan and s.h.i.+ Xue were both alive and well. After a few minutes, he barged into the room and asked, "Is what you said true?? They're alive??" he asked loudly.

Father Huang covered his mouth, "shhh. There could be people listening. They are both well and alive. They need our help to make an appearance at the engagement party.

Shen Qi's heart raced in excitement as he heard that his girlfriend is actually alive. He quickly nodded and cleaned parts of the study room so that they could all sit and discuss further details.
