I slowly opened my eyes and found the whole surroundings to be totally unfamiliar to me. I was propped against a rotting tree trunk and was lying sprawled on the ground. I looked around and found nothing befitting to the campsite that I was in a few hours ago or so. The sun rays above breaking through the foliage of the forest showed little clue whether it was in the morning or in the afternoon.

I rubbed my eyes and somehow I felt something heavy was strapped around my neck. I felt around it and found it was some kind of metal contraption and after groping it around I discovered a small padlock at the back of my neck. It was like a big dog collar meant for a small person like me.

I looked down and found that my previously worn clothes were missing. It was now replaced with a type of digi camouflaged pants and a matching s.h.i.+rt. I had also a pair of rubber jungle boots on. The digi camouflaged was of dense jungle type.

I tried to struggle and stand up and felt rather unrestrained at the same time. There were no chains or shackles but I felt there was something else strapped at the right ankle of mine; just underneath the canvas of the jungle boot. I took off my right boot and found another device with a blinking red light attached to it. It was a thin metal clasp with a small tiny device and there wasn't a lock or anything securing it. A set of 'hinges' was used to lock the device in place.

*** Somewhere in the parts of the island ***

The rest of the students slowly stirred out of their stupor and discovered they were in the same peril as me. Although they were all separated from the main group, everyone seemed to be scattered all over the island. One was near a creek, one was on top of a cliff's edge, another was awakened inside an abandoned wooden dilapidated hut while the rest ended up in the hearts of the jungle. As everyone stirred up and discovered their clothes were missing and being replaced by the military-grade clothes and jungle boots, they soon realized about the contraption that was around their neck with a padlock securely fixed behind their neck.

"h.e.l.lo!!! Is there anyone around?!? h.e.l.lo!!! Can you hear me...?!?" I shouted and only the echoes of the forest answered me beside the numerous insects that buzzed around me.

I looked around and discovered that there was no path or any indication of a way to get around this G.o.dforsaken place.

I saw a small canvas bag that resembled a "china bag" and contained a folding pocket knife and a can opener, a 350 millilitres of the plain water bottle, a roll of aluminium foil and a flint and magnesium strike match. I slung the bag across my shoulders.

I stood up and try to find any kind of answers to my befuddled head. I took up courage and decided to use the rotten tree stump as my marker as I walk straight into the jungle with no G.o.d d.a.m.n idea of where I am going in the first place.

Suddenly an electronic kind of voice boomed across the forest. It was amplified by the loudspeakers that were hung high into the tree trunks. A camera with PTZIR or pan tilt zoom infrared capability was affixed to some trees away.

"h.e.l.lo everyone...!Welcome to Exile Island! You are now our guests of honour that comprise of 6 boys and 6 girls all coming from s.h.i.+mizu Higas.h.i.+ High School! You may not realize your importance but I can tell you this; all of you are Superstars in my reality game show!!! " the voice boomed through the loudspeakers that bounced off echoes in the forest.

"Before I continue, I would like to tell you a very important thing. LISTEN!!! You see the contraption that is attached to your neck right?! Hur... Hur... Hur...!!! Do not attempt to break free from it because I planted an explosive device that will trigger it to explode if any of you tries to tamper with it in any manner!!" the electronic voice boomed once again and seemed to mock regards to the collar that was fixed on my neck.

Suddenly a m.u.f.fled boom was heard in the far distance that resonated through the jungle.

" Tsk... Tsk... Tsk...!!! YOU THINK I AM JOKING?!? Let me see... *Ahem* (some rustling of papers and electronic devices were heard in the background) Ah, Yes...! It seems one of your friends decides to end her fate so soon by tampering the device that goes BOOM!!! Haaa... Haaa...Haaaaaa....!!! It was MEGUMI...!!! Such a pity don't you think?!?" the voice mocked us further and I was half believing if what was conveyed through the loudspeakers.

"Tsk... Tsk... Tsk... Megumi Nis.h.i.+waki. With green luminous hair that accentuates with the uniform that she was wearing...Such a pity to end her life right at the beginning of this show!!!"

I tried to trace the m.u.f.fled boom sound and it was somewhere on my right at about a few kilometres off. I staggered and moved towards it. Hoping that what the b.a.s.t.a.r.d behind the microphone was just trying to throw us off mentally.

I picked up a small rock and threw it against the loudspeaker and it just bounced off with a dull thud." f.u.c.k!! f.u.c.k!! f.u.c.k!!! "I cursed and walk towards the intended waypoint.

After trudging for about 2 hours in the jungle, the humidity of the forest and me exerting to walk quite a distance made me soak my whole s.h.i.+rt through with my perspiration on. I took off my s.h.i.+rt and hung it on the china bag. I walked as silent as possible trying to locate the m.u.f.fled boom sound earlier at the same time peeled my eyes open for any chance of life. I deeply hoped in my heart to be able to locate Chikas.h.i.+ who had suffered the same fate as me back at the cottage of the campsite.
