Akitos.h.i.+ was wandering aimlessly around the forest after he had awoken and was hoping to find a way out. It was like awakening from a dream and he was walking around a forest where he would chance upon a highway and able to hitch a ride towards civilization as well to the campsite that he was he was putting up with another student apart from his usual peers.

However, the forest that he was walking through didn't show any signs of civilization at all. All he could find beside him was a satchel canvas bag and some useless items. There was a bottle of mineral water where he had taken a swig from it and had about half of its contents left. All he was to do right now was to either chance a stream where he could refill and walk downstream... If he could ever find such a stream in this thick and dense forest.

Halfway through he heard a soft clinking sound, and he stopped in his tracks to locate the sound. It was like as if a piece of rock or something was repeatedly knocked into a piece of metal such the weird collar he was wearing. The clinking sound continued and he quickly turned into the direction of where the sound came from.

After a short while, he reached to where the sound was coming from. The clinking sound of rock against metal was clear when suddenly an electronic voice boomed across the forest. Akitos.h.i.+ looked up and saw a loudspeaker attached high into one of the tree trunk and was emitting a clear electronic voice that boomed through it.

The voice was welcoming students of s.h.i.+mizu Higas.h.i.+ High School here and to a variety game show. Akitos.h.i.+ ignored the irritating electronic voice over the loudspeaker and went ahead to the direction of the clinking sound.

He saw a familiar figure, about 30 meters away, a bright green coloured hair girl was kneeling on the ground and was using a piece of smooth rock to knock on her metal collar. She was kneeling and leaning across a tree trunk as she kept pounding on the metal collar around her neck.

"M... Megumi?!" Akitos.h.i.+ called out to the familiar figure. She stopped what she was doing and turned around, and yes... It was Megumi alright. She stood up and Akitos.h.i.+ began to walk towards her while she raised the rock and hit the collar with it.

Suddenly there was a bright blinding white and red flash and the heat that swallows the surrounding between Megumi and Akitos.h.i.+. A loud BOOM! sounded afterwards and shook the leaves and trees near Megumi while Akitos.h.i.+ had barely managed to cover his eyes when the Boom! sounded.

Akitos.h.i.+ opened up his eyes a crack through his palm that covered his face and found that Megumi was now left standing and HEADLESS!!! Pieces of skull, hair, eyeb.a.l.l.s and brain matter were blown apart and scattered all over the forest while the scorched part where the neck of Megumi used to be was spouting blood all over the tree trunks!!!

An announcement over the loudspeakers sounded again and was m.u.f.fled as Akitos.h.i.+ was a bit deafened by the explosion. The whole scene that took place in front of him looked so unreal!! The body flailed its arms about before falling with some spasms and then lay still to the ground. The air was filled with thick blood, burning flesh and metal.

Akitos.h.i.+ bent over on all fours as the pungent stench invaded his nostrils. He heaved and there was nothing left to go. His vomit came out like clam chowder and smelled like acidic Cheetos. Akitos.h.i.+ blanched in the forest's heat and sank to his bottom, resisting touching his face with his soiled hands.

And he blacked out.

Sometime later he came to his senses. He thought that when he saw Megumi and then her head somewhat exploded; sending the parts of her head, brain, eyes, skin, and skull flying in all directions as part of his delirious dream. However, seeing a headless figure clad in a digi camouflaged uniform on the ground confirm it was real and not a dream.

Akitos.h.i.+ can't help but retch against his empty stomach again. He clutched his satchel bag and went ahead, wandering aimlessly as he grappled with vegetation around him, cutting his hands and face as he bashed through thick and long overgrown gra.s.ses.

His head grew heavy as he was dehydrating fast. He slumped to the ground unable to move an inch further. He then removed his water bottle took another swig and threw away the empty bottle. His dry throat seemed a bit quenched as the water he drank managed to soothe it a bit after his dry retching earlier.

The sun was slightly overhead and he was using his hand to s.h.i.+eld the sun rays from his eyes as he peered forward. He was unaware of a slight rustling round that was approaching behind him; thinking it may be from a small animal from the jungle.

As the rustling sound came nearer, he distinguished them finally as footsteps. As he turned his head to look at the direction of rustling sounds, something grabbed at his hair and jerked it backwards.

His body involuntarily followed the momentum and the grabbing of his hair made the head jerked back more forcefully and exposed his jugular. His eyes rolled upwards and he saw a black shadow and something s.h.i.+ny flashed before his eyes. Before he could react much except to frantically grab hold on top of his hair, the s.h.i.+ny glint descended on his exposed jugular.

There was no pain at first as the sharp blade penetrated the soft part of his left neck and traversed through his windpipe and exited on the right side of his neck. With the strong hold of his hair, the head was simply pulled back in a manner that the cut across his neck became a wide jagged smiley open wound.

Sprays of blood ejected out from the wound and his hands immediately closed upon it. Akitos.h.i.+'s eyes rolled towards the back of his head and he managed to gargle out non-comprehensible words as darkness enveloped him. Soon he felt a sudden chill of coldness next as his heart fluttered to a complete standstill. Little did he realized in his last breath or last grasp of consciousness that he had been targeted by one of the a.s.sa.s.sins as his limp body slipped into an abyss of death.

Shortly after, his lifeless body was pulled aside by the a.s.sa.s.sin and covered with loose dead and dry leaves. No other ceremony was needed for such a.s.sa.s.sin as he covered the body away from the scene. No burial, no prayers, no nothing.

That's the end of a short life for Akitos.h.i.+ in Exile Island.

Soon after three short shrill alarms sounded through the loudspeakers...
