New Life Online 225 Old Friend

-Order of Light, Path to Green Leaf Village-

We were able to leave the city once again without any problems but I can tell that from the very start, some scouts are already following us. They didn't enter the Tavern though so it's probably off limits to them.

Not that long since we left the city and I can still feel that we are being followed.

"Hey Sea Lion, are we still far?" Osia asked. We used the South path leading to the Green Leaf Village.

"Don't worry. That old friend will come to us but for now... let's use this path." We entered a place where there's a lot of trees, not as thick as the forest but I think this is near the lake where they found the b.l.o.o.d.y water.

I made eye contact with Beat and I think he understood what I meant. He signaled something to the ... I should ask for their names again. After that, both of them moved the other way while we are walking.

After a while... we heard sword clash not that far. We rushed towards the area and...

"Hey, we got the scouts. What do you want me to do with them?" Beat and Kaita got them. There are three scouts who are down but probably not dead yet.

"Let's tie them up for now and leave them here. It's not good that someone is following us around. Are they awake?" I asked.

"I don't think so. I knocked them down pretty hard." Beat answered.

"Good job. Let's go and find the guy we're looking for." We started moving on again.

-Deep South West Forest of Green Leaf Village, Near Lake-

After minutes of walking, I've felt another group of people nearby and I think we've found what we're looking for.

"Miss Chara..." Beat tried to warn me but I just shove my hand to tell him to not talk.

"Hey hey hey! You bunch got losht? I'm the guard here and if you want to pa.s.sh, you need to pay 10 gold each." I knew it was him.

"Hey, there, Two Teeth. It's been a while!" I removed my cloak that hiding my face.

"Wait... it'sh you shucker!" I think he said sucker but...

"Oh... you don't have to be so hostile. We're here to ask you for a job." And I just smiled at him.

"You shuckersh think you can afford my shervich? You're making me laugh!" He replied and smirked at us.

"Pfffft..." Suddenly Osia giggled showing with disrespect... Probably because of how Two Teeth talks.

"Are you laughing at me?! Boysh kills those shuckers.h.!.+" Just stop saying shuckers... it sounds like shockers...

"Boss... are you really sure? This girl is stronger than all of us for sure. We watched the recent battle right?" One of his lackeys said.

"Then why do you think they want our shervich? They probably need our shtrong forche!" Two teeth...

"I seriously doubt that, Boss. But I'm pretty sure they're not here for our strong force that you are talking about." Where on earth did he even get this person to come with him?

"Your friend there is right. We're here for your knowledge... of some sort. It's not that hard. We just need you to accompany us somewhere you're really familiar with and then we'll pay you after we find the thing we are trying to find."

"What plache are we talking about? It dependsh, of courshe." Now he's being rational. Good, good.

"Well, we are talking about Order of Light's Dungeon." I answered. His face expression started to change.

"I knew it! You shuckersh are here to sh.e.l.l me out for gold!" There he goes again.

"Now, now... you're..." Then he rushed towards me!

Beat showed up and tried to stop Two Teeth... with his power, I guess he can...

*BAAAAAAAM!* So fast! Two Teeth unleashed a strong attack to Beat! He was able to block it but he got pushed back and staggered!

Now he's trying to get me. He did get faster and stronger from the last time I saw him but this is not going to work against me.

*SWOOOOOOs.h.!.+* His attack was predictable and I was able to dodge in time with a sidestep. He's trying to launch another follow-up move but...

*CLAAAANG!* I stopped his attack by disarming his weapon by attacking his elbow.

"Ugh!" He tried to grab his elbow because of the pain and pulled back.

"As I said, we need you to find something. We're offering money here even higher than your bounty. So let's calm down and talk this through, okay?" I tried to calm him down but it seems like he's still irritated.

"If you really need my help and willing to pay. Give ush 100 gold right now." Two Teeth said, seems fair.

"Fine..." I replied and asked Beat to give him what he wants.

"So are we good? Don't try running away though because these guys are trackers and we can just track you guys down." I warned them.

"Okay. If you're willing to pay this much then I guessh you got my shervich." Well, I don't know if we can really trust him right now but he's the only one we've got so far.

"Do I need to bring my friendsh or just me?" I guess his friends are smarter than him but we don't want too much attention.

"Just you is enough. For now, here... wear this to hide your ident.i.ty. We don't want to get in trouble now that we have a wanted guy with us." And I'm one to talk...

"Shure Shure..." He grabbed the cloak and wore it. I hope this works well.

He said his goodbyes to his friends and then we started moving back to the city. It's getting dark again... I hope this work smoothly.

"So what'sh thish thing you are trying to find? I can't help you if I don't know what it ish." He started asking me.

"It's not what... it's who. I bet you've heard that Scy disappeared and didn't show when Dragoons fought with the Order of Lights. It's because they were trapped and now they are being held captive to increase the chances of the other guilds of winning." I explained.

"Oh, I thought he jusht run away becaush he'sh a shcardy cat. Haha!" I don't think it's the time to joke about that...

"What did you just say?!" Beat has shown aggression.

"Now now... let's not start a fight here. We need to move fast and get them back before sunrise or it will be hard for us to move." Beat calmed down for a bit and then we started moving faster.

-Order of Light South Gate-

We reached the city's South Gate and we tried to enter but we were stopped by guards once again. We used the North gate earlier and if we go there again, it might be hard to enter again.

After doing the same trick, they let us get past the gate without any problems. They didn't check us that much after seeing the badge we have.

Night time is the time where more people show up because it's the time when they sleep and can play till morning. I can tell that there are more guards patrolling and so far... we're not being followed yet. I can tell that we've got eyes on us, though.

"So... where's the Dungeon?" I whispered to Two Teeth.

"Jusht follow me. I know thish plache very well." He replied and somehow... it's not the way to the city castle gates... I hope he's not trying to betray us.

We followed him straight to a place where there are like five guards. It's not even a building but it's like an underground path below the city castle, not that far from city caste gate. Usually, buildings have like two or three people guarding them but this is odd.

"That'sh the entrance to the Dungeon. There'sh no other eashy way unlessh you want to go ins.h.i.+de the main cashtle." He explained.

"There are five guards, it will be hard to not attract attention. If we somehow show up and kill them, they might log out and alert their superiors. This will be hard." It's one of the flaws of the game for sneaking.

"That's true but not if they are affected by a specific status effect. Here... take this." Beat handed me some kind of potion. I heard he's a potion master.

"Miss Petula helped me create those too. She kind of like alchemy and made this for us. You can coat your weapon with that and with one slash, the target will fall asleep in no time. Using range weapon is better for better sneaky results." Oh, sis likes alchemy. No wonder she can create things like this.

"I guess that should do the work," And then we started making our move.

Beat prepared his short bow and the others readied their daggers. In just a split second, we were able to take them down using range attacks including my dagger throw.

"Wow, not s...o...b..d." I can tell that Two-Teeth is enjoying the view.

We entered inside using the key from the guards and it looks like normal inside.
