New Life Online 276 Apologetic Lizard

"Take your seats. Don't cheer too much or thousands of spears will fly towards your direction. KACHAAA!" Gill is guiding my guildmates to their seats and I can say that their city is way modern than I expected.

They have a castle which I can say is where the throne of the king is at, some other buildings that look like barracks, though most of the houses around the city are made of woods. This island doesn't look like it can provide good materials for creating a city like Order of Light city so I guess this is really what they can have at best for now. No wonder they only use wooden spears and few swords while fighting us. Thanks to their thick skin, they don't really need armors to protect themselves but still, magic damage is their worst enemy and we can take advantage of that knowledge and win this fight.

"Stop daydreaming and move." Gill pushed me... I will make him pay by doing this to me, just wait and see.

Well, their arena doesn't look bad either. It's like a little forest but has wide s.p.a.ce to make audiences see the battle. I guess this is their thing because a lot of their people or I should say fellow lizardmen are here and are all excited.

"KACHAAA! KACHAAAA! KACHAAA!" It's way too obvious... I don't have any idea what they are saying but I'm sure most of them likes to see us dead.

Zia, Akko and I entered the arena and I can still hear the shouts of the lizardmen from afar. Though, there are only two Lizardmen in front of us which I can tell that they are the guards of the King considering they are wearing better armors than... like everyone around here, no sight of the King yet though. I guess he wants to test us first with his guards.

"By the way, Scy, are you sure you want me to fight with you instead of Lili or Elou? I mean, they can do better. Chara is strong too." Zia asked and I can tell that she's curious.

"I picked both of you for a reason. Chara's toughness is superb and I can say that she is the best defender we have in the guild but she can't use a magic spell which is the only way we can defeat them. Elou would be a nice addition to the team with his good wind spells but his long distance attacks won't excel in a battlefield like this, we can't use his abilities to the fullest. Lili can heal and apply us some good buffs but that also would leave us less damage output that we need fighting three tough bosses so I decided to take Akko for her light spells, not as good as Lili, but enough to keep us three alive and use magic spells at the same time. I picked you because you are the agilest and quickest member we have, not to mention you have some tricks that we can also use, not only for attacking but also for defending making you our main tank and you happen to use some magic spells too which is a good way to boost our damage output." I explained. Basically, I need a party that doesn't only have good damage but also can take a hit or two.

"Oh, you picked us right off the bat and you were able to a.n.a.lyze our strengths and weaknesses," Zia said.

"He's our leader for a reason. Without him as our leader, there will be no Life Guild." Akko replied. I guess that's a bit of overreaction.

"Let's just be careful. We don't know what will hit us later so, for now, let's learn how they fight and how to counter their abilities." I suggested.

"I'm scared but also excited as well... So, how do we fight? Usually, we fight separately and we never really had the chance to fight together. How do we do this?" Zia asked. She's right but I already know what to do.

"Zia, you will be my left hand and Akko will be my right. Pay attention to my hand gestures and I'm sure you'll know what to do. I don't have the time to explain it because we're about to start." I replied. I saw Gill entered the arena and I can say that the fight will start soon.

"Get ready. Today we will execute the first three humans! Everyone, have a wonderful day! KACHAAAAA! Get ready!" Wait, but the leader is not here yet?

"Where's the leader? I thought we're supposed to be fighting him?" I asked.

"He said that you guys are not as strong as those humans in the Island. His guards can take you down in just a couple of seconds." That's good to hear. Underestimating us before the fight, that's something you don't want to do.

"Fine, start the fight then," I replied.

"Then without further interruptions, FIGHT! KACHAAAA!"

"I'm sorry. I'm ranked as the third strongest in our race. I'm sorry but I will kill you soon. Please forgive me." This lizardman is so weird. He's apologizing too much.

"Stop apologizing! *spit* Just kill them already! *spit* You can do it yourself so get on with it. *spit*." The other guard said. That looks disgusting! He spits a lot! It looks like we're only fighting one of them for now.

The third strongest, he said, is different from Gill. This one has better armor and bigger and I can say that he's going to be a lot tougher than any of his fellow lizardmen.

"GRRRRRRRR! I'M SORRY!" He... he became bigger and I can tell that he's even stronger now! So this is his fight mode. His armor is made of bones and horns which I think he got from hunting other monsters. This power and aura, this is definitely a power of almost a Legendary Type boss! Almost the same as the Frozen King's Legendary Bosses! I'm sure it killed an unimaginable amount of other monsters to get that kind of power.

"Scy, he's... powerful," Zia said and she sounds scared.

"We've been through worse. I know we can handle this. Just be careful." I ordered. He's about to move!

"GRRRRR!" He may be big but his movements are quite slower than I expected. Now let's see if he also have the ability to defend.

"BREATHE OF DARKNESS!" I spew darkness towards him. I don't really need to do that but it looks cooler and it covers the area faster. I used it to cover the area near him making him stop moving. I signaled Akko to attack.

"SCORCHING FLAMES!" She used her flame spell and it looks a low-level fire spell but...

*BAAAAAAAM!* The explosion was superb! It pushed the boss a little bit but it wasn't powerful enough! Time for Zia.

"LIGHT THRUST!" She quickly moved and then use a direct stab to the boss head with her sword covered in light magic.

*CLAAANG!* He used his head armor's horns to deflect the attack! That's tough armor for not even getting a scratch from her attack! He sure is tough.

Zia backed off fast and is waiting for my next order. d.a.m.n... That defense is way too tough. Zia's attack is not something you block or deflect like that so I can say that there's no way we can even damage it with normal attacks.

*ZWOOOOOs.h.!.+* He slowly used his giant sword and made a powerful slash forward and created a powerful shockwave!

"LIGHT BARRIER!" Akko made a barrier in front us to stop the attack and...

*CRACKS* The s.h.i.+eld cracked! But it didn't pa.s.s through her barrier and just faded. Akko's light spells are good, I can see that. It's just that the boss really hits hard.

"Be careful, he's slow but he's really powerful. We have to take advantage of his slow movements and concentrate our attacks on one spot to be more effective." I ordered and it feels like there's no weak spot at all. His armor pretty much covers his body and even with Akko's firepower, simple attacks won't be enough.

"SCORCHING BURST!" She aimed directly at his head and exploded!

*BOOOOOOM!* This time, the power is much more than her last attack! It almost broke his head armor!

"LIGHT MARK!" Out of nowhere, Zia appeared in front of the boss after the explosion. The place is still covered in darkness so he doesn't really have a clue that Zia's already there!

"LIGHT SWORD DANCE!" She created four clones and then sliced his head armor consecutively destroying it in a couple of hits! Now it's my turn!

"ETHEREAL BLADE!" I appeared on top of him, after sneaking, and then pierced his head with my dagger with Shade's pa.s.sive! Even if you're tough as h.e.l.l, there's no way you can survive this!

*CRAAAACK* What?! I used Shade's pa.s.sive to let my dagger pierce his skin but after canceling Shade's pa.s.sive to stab the boss physically, my dagger shattered! d.a.m.n it?! So my dagger was not st.u.r.dy enough to even stab him inside his skin!

"I'M SORRY!" He's about to slice me in half with his giant sword and there's no way I can make it out in time!
