*SWOOOOOs.h.!.+* His sword pa.s.sed right through my body making his ma.s.sive attack useless. I balanced myself and hopped back.

I gambled and it looks like his attacks are pure physical attacks making Shade's pa.s.sive useful in this kind of situations. I just need to be careful, if he has some other abilities, I would be in trouble if I take even one of those hits.

"*Spit* This guy has some tricks. *Spit* You idiot! Kill the girls first! *Spit*" The other one said. Man... he needs to stop spitting. That's gross.

"I'm sorry. I will. I'm sorry." He replied.

"Our fast attacks won't work. This monster must have some kind of weakness. His physical defense is superb and his magical defense isn't bad either. He was able to take Akko's attack with minimal damage." I explained to them.

"Then how are we supposed to defeat him? It looks like he doesn't even have kind of weaknesses." Zia asked.

"That's why they are doing their best to hide their weak spots. If by any chance we can find it, then he won't be able to win against us." Akko explained.

"We need to find his weakness soon before he kills us first and to do that, let's prepare another group attacks. Naturally, lizards are weak to hot temperature and are cold blooded. Also, they can't take that much heat or they will fry up but earlier, Akko's attack didn't do that much. We might be missing something. For now, let's try again. Akko, you will be the one who'll deliver the last hit this time and make it big. " I ordered.

"Zia, we'll take his attention and let Akko charge up her best skill. Let's try not to get hit and stay alive because Akko can't heal us when she's trying to ready her skill." I explained.

"Of course. Let's do this." She replied. I like her lively att.i.tude, it makes us think that we might really be able to win.

"Confuse the enemy with your speed, I'll try to deliver a sneak attack," I replied and so she started moving.

Her speed is exceptional and even with that kind of speed, she can control the flow of her movements like she's used to it. It's probably the result of her own training. Everyone learned new stuff.

*CLANG* She tried to attack the boss with her sword but darn, she can't penetrate his defense. She was able to hit his body but it didn't work. It's way too tough even for a sneak attack from me. I need to have more magic power.

"LIGHT PENETRATING THRUST!" A light sword with incredible attacking speed! With her good accuracy, she might really be able to destroy his defense!

*CLANG* What?! Her attack didn't work again! Her attack was directed to his heart but for some reason, it didn't pierce his skin even with a magical attack! It's weird that everything we throw at him doesn't work at all. Now let's see, How about this?!

"FIRE G.o.d'S DARK FLAMES!" If magic and physical penetration won't work, then how about a burst of pure magic spell! I jumped and deliver a huge amount of power to finish this off!

*BOOOOOOOOOM!* My attack caused a huge explosion destroying everything around the boss clearing the area up. The other boss got hit by it too. It even made a shockwave pus.h.i.+ng the other things afar.

I'm pretty sure my attack would work. It took half of my overall mana so with that attack, there's no way he could have survi...

What?! I checked the area after it cleared up but both the boss are still standing and unscathed! What the h.e.l.l happened?! Even with the best defense, there's no way someone can stand right there and take my huge attack with two different elements like it was nothing!

"Akko, now!" I ordered and so, she's about to use her best move!

"SCORCHING CONCENTRATED FLAME BULLETS!" She created small fireb.a.l.l.s but you can tell that those fireb.a.l.l.s emit so much flame power! I remember those flames!

*SWOOOOSH SWOSWOSWOOOs.h.!.+* So fast! Her fireb.a.l.l.s moved so fast that it looked like they were red beams or lasers!

*BAAAAM BABABAAAM!* You can hear the sounds of her attacks like they're bullets piercing everything while exploding. It created smoke all over the boss while every fire bullets. .h.i.t him and the smoke became bigger and wider. Those attacks are small but the piercing power is superb. My attack last time was impact-type but hers are piercing and it's specialized to pierce the hardest and thickest of armors. His thick skin will be useless this time.

Akko finally stopped her attacks and I can tell that she's quite exhausted after that ma.s.sive use of mana. Even her gloves show damage as well.

"ZWOOOOOs.h.!.+" What?! The giant sword of the boss came out of the smoke and flew towards Akko! She can't move! I can't make it in time!

*CLAAAAANG* Zia appeared in front of her and tried to use her sword to block the giant sword!

"GAAAAAAAH!" She screamed while trying to use her sword to lift the giant sword and change its course! The sword finally change its direction and hit the trees destroying everything in its path!

"Thanks, Zia," Akko said.

d.a.m.n! His attack is not only ma.s.sive but so powerful! Zia's hands are trembling after trying to deflect the attack and I can tell that she used a lot of energy to stop it. This is harder than I thought. This boss is slow but overpowered.

"I'm sorry." The boss said. Why is he apologizing too much...

After that, the smoke cleared up and like earlier, it looks like he... he didn't receive that much damage again... how is this possible.

"No way! Scy, Miss Akko's attack didn't affect him as well. Are we doing something wrong?" Zia worriedly asked.

I don't know as well but there must be something that protects him from our attacks. We can't do this forever, we'll eventually tire out and get killed here. With our current selves, we won't be able to win. Is it time to use our monster souls? If we use it now, we won't be able to last long when we fight their king and there's no guarantee that we will be able to kill these guards as well.

"Scy, is the other guard really just standing there doing nothing? They are supposed to be weak against magic and all we used are magic attacks but it wasn't effective as it's supposed to be." Akko's right. Then we should try new tactics instead.

"I understand. I have a plan, can you still use some spells?" I asked.

"Yes, of course. Just give me a little bit of time and I can use another powerful attack this time." She replied.

"No, I need you to use a fast attack this time. It doesn't need to be a high-level spell. I just want to try something out." I explained.

"I will attack first then Zia. Wait for my signal. I'm quite sure this time, we can actually do some damage." I know this might not work but it's worth a try.

"*Spit* You, humans, don't know when to give up! *Spit* Finish them off! *Spit*" The spitting boss is getting impatient, I see. Then, it's time.

"I'M SORRY!" The boss started moving but I won't let you.

"DARKNESS!" Darkness once again covered the area restricting their sight.

"FIRE G.o.d'S FIRE GRIP!" I created a flame hand below the boss and surrounded him and now he's burning.

"*Spit* I told you, it won't work! *Spit*" Then at that time, I saw something covered the tough guard, it was water... I knew it. I can see through my darkness and I can see everything clearly. Something is protecting the boss from our attacks and as we expected the boss to be weak against magic, the other boss used some kind of defense that protects the other one from magic damage making our attacks useless. Too bad, they don't have the speed to attack us after defending.

I signaled Zia and pointed her to the spitting boss. In just a short period of time, she created three clones surrounding the boss in all four directions with herself and jumped together.

"FOUR LIGHT BLADES OF ANGEL!" Their swords lit up and then slashed the spitting boss! He was surprised by her attacks, he tried to block but it was useless with her fast and accurate hits! Blood spurted all over the place after that.

"KACHAAA! *SPIT*" This time, he spat blood. And so I was right, the water covering the guard boss disappeared making him defenseless from my flame spell. My flame worked so well burning the boss slowly. Just as I thought, they are weak against fire.

"Akko, blast them now!"I ordered.

"LUCENT SCORCHING EXPLOSION!" A combination of light and flame element spell, what a powerful attack! Go for it, Akko!

*ZWOOOOOOs.h.!.+* This feeling!

*BOOOOOOOOOM!* Something appeared just in time! It was able to block Akko's attack with just his bare hand!

"I'm surprised, you were able to see my guard's weaknesses. I'm surprised." He's... the King!
