Idiot In Love -99 Chapter 17: Old Friend

As a reliable partner, Wu Chen went to NaNa's apartment complex to pick her up for the dinner. Even though he knew that NaNa was going to dress up as Sailor Moon, when he saw NaNa with her complete attire, he was amazed.

NaNa was wearing the complete Sailor Moon outfit with a Garnet Rod instead of Moon Stick; she followed Yi Fei's suggestion and styled her hair and makeup according to the Sailor Moon characters.

"You look like a cosplayer in that outfit. Trying so hard to win the best dresser t.i.tle I guess?" Wu Chen asked his cousin. He was wearing a black tuxedo.

"Brother, you need a mask to complete your look so you can be Tuxedo Mask" NaNa entered the sleek black Lexus RX350 and gave Wu Chen a thumb up for his outfit. Wu Chen never had the intention of becoming the Tuxedo Mask or Mamoru-whatever-guy so he ignored the remark from his cousin.

NaNa fastened her seatbelt and ready to go but Wu Chen was sitting quietly; he did not start his car.

"Let's go" After waiting for some time and seeing that Wu Chen did not start his car, NaNa urged him to get moving. Wu Chen showed a puzzled expression.

"Yi Fei is not here yet," Wu Chen said lightly.

"Her partner picked her up half an hour ago" NaNa continued on speaking about Yi Fei's partner; about how handsome and how gentleman he was towards other people. Wu Chen felt a bit sense of loss. He started his car and drove off.

At the entrance of Wu Hotel, Wu Chen let the valet parked his car. NaNa held her cousin's arm and they went in the direction of the ballroom.

At the door, a lady wearing a complete Harley Quinn costume can be seen. Wu Chen was amazed at how invested the staff of Faith Middle School staff for the dinner theme. The dinner seemed more and more like a cosplay party for him.

Everyone was following the theme, especially the Harley Quinn who was now standing with her back near the door. She was completely in the character as her left hand was twirling her twin ponytail while her right hand was swinging a baseball bat. She wore spiky accessories together with a bomber jacket with 'Property of Joker' sewn on it. Wu Chen was curious about the Harley Quinn.

NaNa suddenly let go of Wu Chen's arm and scurried towards the Harley Quinn. Wu Chen walked slowly. His eyes were on his cousin.

"In the name of the Moon…" NaNa shouted. The Harley Quinn turned her back towards NaNa slowly.

"I shall punish you!" NaNa swung her Garnet Rod and pointed it towards the Harley Quinn.

Wu Chen was surprised at the scenario because of NaNa's sudden attack towards the Harley Quinn. The Harley Quinn used her baseball bat to counterattack the Garnet Rod and they were doing some fencing-like pose near the entrance to the ballroom; making other people unable to enter the ballroom.

"These idiots…" Wu Chen walked towards NaNa and the Harley Quinn to stop them from enacting a fighting scene from whatever source they had watched. Before he could say anything, the Harley Quinn suddenly talked.

"Wah! Tuxedo Mask, you shouldn't be helping Sailor Moon just because she is your partner. Look closely! She might be a fake. She's using Garnet Rod instead of the Moon Stick" The Harley Quin tried to drag Wu Chen into their fight but Wu Chen was not going to have it. Wu Chen stared at the Harley Quinn, trying to identify the person.

"There are people behind who want to enter the ballroom. Stop blocking the way" Both the Sailor Moon and Harley Quinn stopped playing and the move on the side; allowing people to enter the ballroom safely without the risk of getting injured from their so-called intense fight just now.

"Brother, where is your mask?" Wu Chen stared at the Harley Quinn for some time. The Harley Quinn displayed an embarra.s.sed look because she was ignored by Wu Chen.

Wu Chen suddenly had a sudden epiphany. The Harley Quinn was the shorty. Wu Chen was trying to comprehend the whole things. He thought that it was not his fault for not recognizing the shorty in the Harley Quinn attire. Who told the shorty to use a high heel and making her appeared taller than her real height. Also, who told her to use a blonde wig and covered herself with thick makeup. He was not good at recognizing women with thick makeup. They all looked the same for him.

"You were going all out today" Wu Chen finally spoke.

"Of course ar… I love big present" The Harley Quinn was beaming in front of him. Wu Chen thought that the shorty looked cute. Recently he thought that the shorty looked cute far too many times. He looked down and began to question himself about it when suddenly; a man appeared beside the shorty.

"What are you doing standing here? Let's go find our seat" The man spoke.

Wu Chen lifted his face and came face-to-face with a Joker. Green hair, black eye makeup, white face and smeared red lipstick on his face. The Joker was shocked to see Wu Chen. n.o.body spoke for some time.

Yi Fei noticed the shocked expression between the two men. Her imagination ran wild. She looked at the Joker next to her and then looked at Wu Chen in front of her. Both of them seemed like having a moment between them. The scene looked like the scene from some of the fujos.h.i.+ manga she read a few years ago.

NaNa noticed the situation between the two men. She also noticed the weird look from Yi Fei who was looking alternately at the two men.

"Brother Chen, do you know Brother Ting?" NaNa suddenly asked because she could not stand the awkward situation anymore. Her question jolted the 3 people out of their quiet moment. n.o.body responded to her but NaNa did not rush them. She was waiting patiently for one of the two men to answer her.

"Chen… I have not seen you for a long time" The Joker spoke first.

"Bai Jing Ting, I did not expect to see you here" Wu Chen replied with a poker face.

Suddenly, the emcee of the staff dinner started the event and asked all the guests to take their seat. Shorty pulled Bai Jing Ting hand and entered the ballroom. NaNa and Wu Chen went after them.

For some reasons, Wu Chen could not take his eyes off the Harley Quinn's hand that was pulling the Joker.
