Idiot In Love -94 Chapter 22: Grocery Shopping Date

Yi Fei could feel that her heart was beating rapidly. The close proximity between her and Wu Chen was making it worse. She was losing herself. She wanted to touch his face. Her hand reached out for Wu Chen slowly.

"Is it done? I'm so hungry" NaNa walked into the room, unaware of the things going on between Yi Fei and Wu Chen. Yi Fei jolted out from her trance. She turned her back to Wu Chen to fetch the other two bowls of instant noodle. NaNa sat on the stool next to Wu Chen. Wu Chen had an irritated look on his face. NaNa wondered if she did something wrong.

Since Yi Fei was in front of Wu Chen, she could not be seen from the back. When NaNa went into the kitchen, she did not see that Yi Fei was about to touch Wu Chen's face. All that NaNa could see was a blus.h.i.+ng Yi Fei when she went to fetch the noodle bowl.

To be honest, Wu Chen was antic.i.p.ating the touch of Yi Fei. He could feel that he was attracted to her. The fingers that touched her fringe were tingling; he could feel the spark of electricity coursing through his body the moment he touched Yi Fei. He wondered if she felt it too. That was why when NaNa barged into the kitchen, he felt irritated.

NaNa, on the other hand, was clueless about everything; she kept on looking alternately between Wu Chen and Yi Fei. The two of them were acting strangely. Yi Fei did not dare to look at Wu Chen and Wu Chen won't look at Yi Fei too.

The three of them ate in silence. NaNa would talk once in a while but seeing the two people had not responded to her topic of conversation, she could only swallow the noodle silently.

Wu Chen and NaNa volunteered to do the dishes since they did nothing to help Yi Fei when she cooked the noodle. So Yi Fei went into the living room to calm herself. Whenever she glanced at Wu Chen, her heart seemed to be pounding hard. She felt helpless.

She sat down on the sofa and took a big breath. She told herself that what happened in the kitchen between Wu Chen and her was nothing. Wu Chen only helps her to tuck in her hair and it did not have any other meaning. Her heart seemed to calm down after she brainwashed her own mind. But when she remembered that she wanted to touch Wu Chen's face, she felt very ashamed.

NaNa walked into the living room and sat beside Yi Fei.

"Okay, now the two of you can go to the supermarket. I will watch the house for Brother Chen" Yi Fei was unwilling to go but she had mentioned that she will teach Wu Chen how to cook so she could not back out now. Yi Fei tried to persuade NaNa to come with them to the supermarket so that she would have someone to talk with but NaNa insisted that she will watch over the house.

"Let's go" Wu Chen walked into the living room after he had done with the dishes. The security in his apartment complex was one of the best in City L. Actually, there was no need for NaNa to watch over the house but since NaNa was willing to be a security guard for free, he did not say anything.

Yi Fei stood up with a heavy heart. She kept on chanting 'it's okay' on her mind before following Wu Chen to the parking lot.

"Brother, let's use my G.o.ddess. G.o.ddess is smaller, very easy to park ar…" Yi Fei suggested that they should use her G.o.ddess to go to the supermarket but Wu Chen only gave her a sceptical look before walking straight to his car. Wu Chen insisted that he will be the one who drives to the supermarket so Yi Fei could only enter his car silently.

At the supermarket, Wu Chen was designated as the cart pusher while Yi Fei was busy making a mental list of what he should buy. Yi Fei insisted that they should go to the Poultry Section first because the chicken and fish are heavy so they should be put at the bottom of the trolley. Wu Chen did not argue and followed her.

He was glad that the shorty was back to herself. He was aware that the shorty seemed to be in the state of shock when he fixed her fringe in the kitchen. He reminded himself not to be haste next time as it will scare the shorty.

Yi Fei was busy looking at the fresh chicken meat and variety of fishes in the poultry section. Wu Chen looked at Yi Fei who was looking for the chicken meat earnestly. Once in a while, Yi Fei asked him about his preference.

A warm feeling arose in his heart. Wu Chen felt as if they were newlyweds who were doing their grocery shopping together. His lips curled up in happiness. At the same time, Yi Fei turned her head to look at Wu Chen and saw that Wu Chen was smiling.

"Brother, are you that happy to be in a supermarket?" Yi Fei looked at the smiling Wu Chen. She thought that Wu Chen must be happy to be in the supermarket. She still remembers the first time she brought NaNa to the supermarket last year; NaNa was so excited and happy because she never went to a supermarket before. So, Yi Fei a.s.sumed that Wu Chen would feel the same as NaNa too.

Wu Chen did not answer her; he pushed the shopping cart towards Yi Fei. "Going to the supermarket with you was fun". Yi Fei did not think much of the reply from Wu Chen but she felt happy because Wu Chen mentioned her. She a.s.sumed that Wu Chen was really happy to go to a supermarket and it was not really because of her.

Yi Fei put everything she wanted from the poultry section to the cart. When Yi Fei started to walk, the supermarket suddenly played the song Happy by Usher. Upon hearing the music, Yi Fei started to move her body according to the music and jogged onward. Wu Chen told her to be careful. Yi Fei seemed to hear Wu Chen's voice but she was unclear about it. So she turned back to ask Wu Chen about it.

The floor at the poultry section was a bit wet and slippery. The place where Yi Fei stood was especially slippery. When Yi Fei turned, her leg slipped and she stumbled down. Luckily, she acted fast and before she stumbled down, she bent her right knee and her left knee landed on the floor with a loud 'thud'. She was now on the floor with one knee; like someone who was proposing for marriage.

"Yos.h.!.+ Safely landed!" Yi Fei raised both of her hand from the bottom until it was at the same level with her shoulder, resembling a bird. Wu Chen abandoned his cart and walked hurriedly to where Yi Fei was. When he reached her, he saw that the shorty had a mischievous smile plastered on her face. Instinctively, Wu Chen stepped back.

"Arghh my Prince Charming, would you marry me?" There were few customers nearby and the customers were looking at them with an antic.i.p.ating look. Wu Chen approached Yi Fei to help her stand up. But Yi Fei continued with her idiocy. The customers around them stopped and started to take out their mobile phone; they probably wanted to record the whole thing.

"I can show you the world… s.h.i.+ning, s.h.i.+mmering splendid… Tell me, Prince, now when did you last let your heart decide?" Yi Fei was reciting the lyrics of A Whole New World like poetry. Wu Chen helped Yi Fei to stand up and dragged her towards their abandoned cart before walking away from the poultry section. The whole time, he was holding out Yi Fei's right hand.

Yi Fei's drama attracted quite a number of the customer, especially old people. While walking pa.s.ses the crowd, the crowd kept on saying "Aiya young man, just say yes to the proposal" and some other phrases with the same meaning.

"I don't know this girl" Wu Chen waved his hand, indicating that he did not know the girl that he was dragging.

"He's shy" Yi Fei whispered to the crowd while being dragged behind Wu Chen. Upon hearing that, Wu Chen turned her head and looked at the shorty with a sharp gaze. Yi Fei shut her mouth and walked behind Wu Chen silently.

When they arrived at the grain section, Wu Chen realized that he had been holding the shorty's hand for a while. The shorty was looking down at their interlocked fingers and she had a weird smirk on her face. Wu Chen let go of his grip and pushed the cart along the aisle.

They continued with their grocery shopping while pretending that nothing had happened previously. The customers who had stopped by and saw Yi Fei's drama earlier kept on looking at them but Wu Chen ignored them. Yi Fei, on the other hand, had a thick face. She smiled and even gave thumbs up to the people.

Wu Chen did not talk for some time and Yi Fei could feel that Wu Chen was angry at her. She felt that she needed to do something so she slapped her left knee and she felt a pang of pain. Her eyes watered and she went over to Wu Chen; displaying a pitiful face as if she wanted to cry.

"Brother, are you angry? I'm so sorry ar… I'm just joking" Yi Fei tugged Wu Chen's s.h.i.+rt while trying her best to act remorseful. Wu Chen softened at the sight of Yi Fei. He did realize that Yi Fei was limping while he dragged her off just now. Her left knee must have injured from the fall.

"Why would you do that? So embarra.s.sing…" Wu Chen asked softly.

"Because I felt so embarra.s.sed when I fell ar… So I decided to make you feel embarra.s.sed too, I could not be the only one who feels embarra.s.sed hehehe" Yi Fei smiled coquettishly.

"Idiot…" Wu Chen shook his head and continued walking; he gave up trying to understand the logic system of the shorty.
