Idiot In Love -93 Chapter 23: Coaxing Little Girl

After paying for all the items, Wu Chen and Yi Fei walked towards the parking lot. Wu Chen had two recycle bags with him; one on each hand.

Yi Fei wanted to help to carry one of the recycling bags; saying that she was strong because she drank milk every day so it would be alright for her to carry heavy things. Wu Chen looked at Yi Fei from her head to her toe. Seeing how short she was compared to him; he decided not to trust the shorty when she said that she drank milk every day.

Inside the car, Yi Fei was sitting quietly. She did not talk, she only bit her lips occasionally.

Wu Chen thought that the shorty was hurt because of his remark about her height so he played some music to cheer her up. He especially played MYM by Zhang Yixing because the shorty said that it was her song; he seemed to like that song too.

Yi Fei sang along quietly to the song while gritting her teeth sometimes. Wu Chen knew that her knee must be throbbing in pain right now.

When they reached Wu Chen's apartment complex, Wu Chen parked his car and he did not go out of her car. Yi Fei glanced at Wu Chen who was sighing loudly beside her.

"Let me check your knee. Roll up your pant above your knee" The quiet Wu Chen suddenly spoke. He kept on looking at her knee. He knew that the knee must be swollen by now.

Yi Fei was wearing a black pant that could be rolled up easily but she did not want to show Wu Chen her leg because she hadn't shaved. She insisted that her knee was alright and it was not painful. Wu Chen did not trust her. He leaned towards Yi Fei and flicked her left knee lightly.

"OW! Why are you doing this to me Brother? Even though I said my body is strong because I drink milk every day but you shouldn't flick my knee ar… my knee is weak…" Water swells in her eyes. Wu Chen did not put much force on his flick just now but the shorty was screaming; this confirmed his suspicion that her knee was swollen from the fall.

"Didn't you said your knee is alright; that it doesn't hurt? I flicked lightly but you are screaming like your leg got chopped down" Wu Chen felt that the almost-crying face of the shorty was quite cute.

"Stop crying, you are not cute when you cry" This remark from Wu Chen made Yi Fei burst into tears. Wu Chen panicked because he did not expect that the shorty would cry because he said she did not look cute when she cried. Clueless of what to do, Wu Chen took out something from the shopping bag.

"Here. Shorty, take this" Wu Chen handed over a bar of chocolate to Yi Fei. He originally bought the chocolate for NaNa but since the shorty was crying, he could not think of any way to make her stop. Whenever NaNa was in bad mood, she will eat chocolate so he figured out that maybe chocolate could make the shorty happy.

Yi Fei looked at the chocolate and cried harder. "You are… not even… sincere… giving chocolate… but still… calling me… name…" Yi Fei sobbed in between her speeches. Wu Chen felt helpless. He did not think that it would hard to coax her.

Wu Chen never had the experience to coax a stubborn child. When he was still together with Li Wei, whenever Li Wei sulked, he would buy some things for her and she would be alright after that. He was thinking that maybe, the shorty was like that too.

"Don't cry. We'll go buy some nice things later okay?" Wu Chen tried to coax her like he did when he coaxed Li Wei but to his dismay, the shorty cried louder and her speech slurred. "I have… money… no need..buy…"

Wu Chen ran out of an idea. He just sat down there being useless while staring at the shorty. The shorty was rubbing her knee, blew on it, cried and hiccupped at the same time. She looked so pitiful.

"Yi…" Wu Chen was about to call her Yi Fei but seeing her behaving like a kid, he thought that he needed to call her a name that befits a little kid. The shorty looked at him with antic.i.p.ation.

"Fei Fei" Teary eyes looked at him.

"I'm sorry. I did not mean to flick your knee" Wu Chen shook his head.

"I did not mean to say that you're not cute when you cry" Yi Fei looked at Wu Chen silently.

"Here. This is my token of apology" Wu Chen handed the chocolate bar to Yi Fei. Yi Fei took the chocolate bar silently.

"Fei Fei, please stop crying okay?" Wu Chen looked at Yi Fei helplessly. Yi Fei stopped crying and turned to Wu Chen and pointed to her knee. Yi Fei rolled up her pants and Wu Chen could see that her knee was purple swollen.

"Blow…" Yi Fei was still hiccupping. Wu Chen twitched his lips. This was really like the idiom being given an inch but still wanting a foot. He wanted to refuse but when he looked at Yi Fei, her lip was quivering as if she would start crying anytime soon. Wu Chen went out of his car and went over to the other side. He opened the door, crouched down and started blowing on Yi Fei's knee.

After blowing for a few times, Wu Chen stood up. "I bought anti-inflammatory medication and ice pack. We should head upstairs so you could put ice on your knee" Yi Fei nodded and tried to stand up. Wu Chen offered his hand but Yi Fei declined his help.

"Fei Fei, don't be angry anymore okay?" He felt dejected because his help was rejected by Yi Fei. Yi Fei shook her head and walked towards the apartment complex.

Wu Chen looked at the retreating back and thought that it was very hard to coax a big kid.
