Wu Chen returned to City L with Liu s.h.i.+ on Friday morning. After they touched down in City L, they straight away went to Wu Hotel to get a few things done so that Wu Chen would be free on his weekend.

Previously, the workaholic Wu Chen liked to work every day causing his secretary to be very sad because he did not have time to socialize with other people.

Liu s.h.i.+'s mother had been urging him to get married for so many years already but seeing that his boss was workaholic, Liu s.h.i.+ couldn't do anything about it. His life in City L was the happiest because since his boss had time to think about other things apart from work, he had quite a lot of free time for himself.

Liu s.h.i.+ was very thankful to Yi Fei for captivating his boss. While doing his work, Liu s.h.i.+ decided that he would try his best to help his boss to win over Yi Fei.

"Boss, are you going somewhere later?" That afternoon, Liu s.h.i.+ asked his boss this question. He had been trying to ask his boss about this because his boss kept on looking at his watch; as if he wanted to keep the track of time.

"Mm". Wu Chen did not even lift his face from the doc.u.ment.

"Where to?" Liu s.h.i.+ knew all about Wu Chen's business meeting because he was the one in charge of his schedule. He remembered correctly that Wu Chen's schedule was free; his boss asked him to clear his entire schedule on Friday night.

Wu Chen lifted his eyes from the doc.u.ment to look at Liu s.h.i.+. "Do I have to report my whereabouts to you?" A hint of sarcasm could be traced in his voice.

"No. I'm sorry" Liu s.h.i.+ didn't want to provoke his boss. He wanted to excuse himself but Wu Chen suddenly spoke.

"Usually after eating fast food, where will people go after that?" This time, Wu Chen was really curious. He was not being sarcastic.

After connecting the dots, Liu s.h.i.+ figured out that his boss must be jittery because he had a date with Yi Fei. He smiled and offered his best advice. "Usually after eating, couples will go to the cinema or just a walk in the park"

Seeing how his boss was not responding to his suggestion, Liu s.h.i.+ added another suggestion "Or… maybe you can always ask the girl what she wants to do. That way, it will never go wrong" Liu s.h.i.+ was so proud of himself. That way, Wu Chen could not even blame him if anything went wrong during the date.

Wu Chen nodded his head while thinking about how Liu s.h.i.+ was right. He excused Liu s.h.i.+ and continued reading the doc.u.ments on his table before he went back and get himself ready for his cheeseburger date with Yi Fei.

Around 6 o'clock, Wu Chen called Yi Fei that he will come shortly to pick her up. Yi Fei was so happy because she has been craving for the double cheeseburger for a few days already. She was also happy to see Wu Chen after not seeing him for a few days so this time, she dressed up a bit.

When Wu Chen came, he had a nice surprise when the door opened. Yi Fei was wearing a cute casual yellow floral midi dress. She had her hair up in a ponytail with a simple makeup. For the first time, she parted her fringe to the left. She exuded a youthful aura out of her and Wu Chen thought that she looked beautiful just like this too.

Wu Chen came and sat on the sofa because Yi Fei asked him to wait for a few minutes. When sitting, Wu Chen felt that his phone was vibrating. He received a message from a number that he didn't feel replying.

Wu Chen did not bother to save Li Wei's number because he thought that he did not have any use in saving her number since he did not plan to be in contact with her in the future but these few days, Li Wei had been texting him once or twice every day.

In her message, she asked what Wu Chen was doing and then she wrote about what was doing. Wu Chen never replied to her but she never stopped sending him messages like:

"What are you doing Chen? It's lunchtime; don't forget to eat your lunch. I'm eating vegetable dumpling, your favourite food, as my lunch"

Wu Chen used to be happy when he received such messages from Li Wei when they were still in the university but now, he did not feel anything. He treated that kind of message as a spam. Except if it comes from Yi Fei, and then it would be a different thing.

Wu Chen opened the text message from Li Wei. "Chen, help me. I'm in the parking lot of the supermarket where we met last time. I think someone is following me".

Upon reading the message, he frowned. He had heard about a certain **** case happened in City L. He heard his workers gossiped in the office. The rapist will be waiting in the dark alley or isolated parking lot, waiting for his victim.

Before he could reply to the message, Yi Fei came out from her room while smiling widely. She looked so happy and so beautiful at the same time. Wu Chen did not know whether Yi Fei was happy to see him or if she was happy because they were about to eat something she craved.

Wu Chen's phone rang and startled him out of his trance. He looked at the id of the caller and then he remembered Li Wei's previous message. So he picked up the call.

"Chen, help me. I'm afraid" Li Wei was whispering.

"Where are you? Don't panic. Walk to a place with people. Don't walk in the dark alley or dark places alone. You should call police instead of calling me right…" Before he could finish talking, Li Wei on the other end of the line shouted before the phone call disconnected.

"Who's that? Any problem?" Yi Fei was standing near Wu Chen and she heard what Wu Chen said on the phone. She guessed that something bad must have happened to the person who called him.

"I'm sorry Fei Fei but I need to go now. I'll come back later. Wait for me. I'll be back shortly" Wu Chen was not in love with Li Wei anymore but it did not mean that he will act as if he did not know her after she asked for help. She could really be in a dangerous situation right now.

Yi Fei told him that he should go and deal with the matters he had first and she will wait for him since it was still early. With a guilty look on his face and a heavy heart, he walked away from the house after reminding her to wait for him because he will come for her after he was done with everything.

Yi Fei went to her room and wrote a few paragraphs of her online novel. She kept on looking at her watch. She had been typing for a few hours and it was almost 9 o'clock. She figured out that Wu Chen must be busy dealing with whatever he had.

Yi Fei decided that she will cook for tonight and Wu Chen did not have to come for tonight as they could always go to get her double cheeseburger tomorrow. She called Wu Chen's phone.

"h.e.l.lo…" A female voice answered the call.

Yi Fei checked her phone whether she had called the correct number. Her phone showed that she was in an ongoing call with 'Chen Chen'.

"Isn't this Wu Chen's phone?" Just to be sure, Yi Fei asked a question.

"Yes, this is Chen's phone. He is with me now" The female voice was speaking like she was the owner of the phone.

"Where is he?" Yi Fei felt that her heart was hurting because the female voice said that Wu Chen was with him. Yi Fei seemed to remember the voice and her way of talking. She tried her best to remember and then when she finally remembered it, she felt as if her soul drifted out from her body – that voice belongs to Wu Chen's ex-girlfriend.

"He could not talk now" The female voice spoke flatly.

"Okay, please convey my message to him then. Please tell him that he should just rest for tonight and that, we can go for the cheeseburger tomorrow" Yi Fei did not know why she mentioned about it to the female on the other end of the line. She did not why she asked her to relay her messages to him.

After Yi Fei hung up the phone call, she laid on her bed wrapping herself in the blanket; staring at the ceiling. Her stomach was growling and her heart ached.

After being in a blanket for a few minutes, Yi Fei emerged from her coc.o.o.n, took her car keys and went to get her double cheeseburger.
