Idiot In Love -37 Chapter 79: Meeting His Parents

Yi Fei resisted letting out a squeal because the way Wu Chen and she now was really like those scenes from the movie. Her outer appearance might be calm but her inner self-had been screaming "kyaaa" for some time already.

The way Wu Chen looked for the night added a point to her squealing heart. Casual tee with khaki pant and denim jacket – John was right; Wu Chen was the definition of a male G.o.d.

According to what she had watched in the movie, the next thing to happen will be Wu Chen draping his jacket over her when she told him that she was cold. She was imagining all those in her heads but the fragments of the thought showed up on her face making her look slightly creepy with that smug smile.

Wu Chen wondered what was on her mind since she had this cunning smile on her face. Trouble or embarra.s.sment always followed after the smile. He knew it very well by now.

"What are you thinking about?" Wu Chen tried his luck in asking her the question.

"Chen Chen, are you a gentleman?" Yi Fei wanted to know whether he was a gentleman or not because only a gentleman would give up their jacket for a girl.

Nowadays, it was quite hard to find a good-mannered guy that has common courtesy and compa.s.sion towards other people. That kind of people still exist of course but it was rare for Yi Fei to find them.

"If I am a gentleman, then what are you planning to do?" He was worried about the question. Something always happened when she asked a random question.

"Nothing. I'm just asking" The waiter came with the food so Yi Fei couldn't ask more.

The weather was excellent and the view was beautiful. Wu Chen and Yi Fei ate their dinner silently. It was not really awkward with them; it's like they have been doing this for a long time.

Seeing how good the weather was, Yi Fei thought that it must be hard for her to feel cold. When she did not feel cold, then there was no reason for Wu Chen to lend her jacket to her. She was stressed out when she thought about it.

Meanwhile, Wu Chen could see a lot of different facial expressions in Yi Fei's face. She seemed as if she was living in her own world. She looked so pleased with herself and then a few moments later, she will frown as if she was confused about things.

They had just finished eating when a ringing sound startled both of them. It was Wu Chen's phone.

Wu Chen looked at the id of the caller – it was his mom. He knew that by now, NaNa might already relay all the information and gossips to his mother. He showed the id of the caller to Yi Fei and asked her if he could take the call here, Yi Fei just nodded her head.

At first, Yi Fei was puzzled about why would Wu Chen asked her if he could take the call but a few seconds later after Wu Chen press the answer b.u.t.ton, then only she knew.

It was a video call. Not a voice call.

"h.e.l.lo son"

Two voices could be heard on the phone. Wu Chen waved and greeted his parents. Both of his parents were seated in his father's study room.

"I knew it. You must have a date now right?" His mother was talking excitedly. "Where is your girlfriend? Let me see her. Quickly, let me see her"

Wu Chen thought that it was weird for his mother to video calls him. It turned out that she was doing so only because she wanted to see Yi Fei.

"My mom wants to see you" Wu Chen looked at Yi Fei to see if she was shy or awkward but he was surprised that Yi Fei actually stood up and went over to his side.

"Oh my… Ah Chun, look. She's so adorable" His mother and father kept on waving hands towards Yi Fei. As if they were on the same wavelength, Yi Fei waved back excitedly while greeting the elders.

"Good evening uncle and auntie. How are you? My name is Yi Fei"

The two elders on the other side were satisfied with how Yi Fei started the conversation. They were satisfied with how polite she was. From greeting the elders, asking how they are and then only proceed to introduce herself after that without asking help from Wu Chen.

Wu Chen's mother was particularly pleased that Yi Fei had a good manner towards the elder; it was exactly like what NaNa told her.

"I saw your video of proposing to Wu Chen. I did not expect you to look so beautiful" Wu Chen's mother started the conversation smoothly.

Yi Fei was slightly embarra.s.sed when Wu Chen's mother mentioned the viral video. "That… I'm only playing with him. It was a joke ar" Yi Fei patted her hot cheek.

"No problem ar… if it's real also no problem" By now, Wu Chen's mother had taken over the conversation.

Both Wu Chen and his father were quiet. They were just looking at their respective woman quietly.

"Isn't it cold over there? You should take care of your health" Seeing how Yi Fei wore an off-shoulder top, Wu Chen's mother was worried if she caught a cold because it could be quite cold at the seaside during the night.

"Don't worry auntie. If I feel cold, I will ask for Wu Chen's jacket. He is a gentleman" Yi Fei patted Wu Chen's shoulder.

"I did the same when I was young. Chen's father was very slow in picking up a hint. I kept on saying I was cold but he did not understand. At the end of the day, I had to ask for his coat myself. Women nowadays need to be brave to work for things they want" Wu Chen's father was trying to stop his wife before she could spill more of his secret but he was not able to stop her.

Yi Fei nodded to anything said by Wu Chen's mother. Sometimes, she will add a bit by saying "Chen Chen is also like that ar" or "like father, like son".

By the time the two ladies kept chipping up each other's story to expose their respective lovers, the two victims were defeated and they don't even try to stop the ladies anymore.

Almost half an hour had pa.s.sed and the ladies finally decided to bid each other goodbye. They talked as if they had known each other for a long time.

It was not a surprising thing to Wu Chen as he already experienced Yi Fei's social b.u.t.terfly power. He knew that Yi Fei was liked by the parents of her students back in Faith Middle School and then, there's the old lady they met in the supermarket.

"My mom likes you" Wu Chen did not have to tell Yi Fei about it because it was obvious.

Yi Fei let out a huge breath. She was actually very nervous when she talked to Wu Chen's mother. She did not realize that she had been holding her breath when his mother bid them goodbye. Wu Chen ruffled her fringe. "Good job"

The two of them walked to the parking lot and suddenly, Yi Fei grabbed Wu Chen's arm.

Wu Chen was happy because Yi Fei took the opportunity to hold his hand. "Why? Are you cold? You want to ask for my jacket?" Wu Chen wanted to tease her.

Yi Fei nodded cutely so Wu Chen took off his jacket and draped in on Yi Fei's bare shoulder.

This scene was like it was made for a movie.

"This will be tomorrow's big news" A certain someone was snapping pictures of the sweet moment while hiding behind the bushes.
