Idiot In Love -107 Chapter 9: First Lunch

On a beautiful Friday morning, while Yi Fei was marking the students' essay, NaNa came to her.

"Let's go out to eat fish soup today." Her face was hopeful.

"But we had fish soup two days ago." Without lifting her head, Yi Fei focused on reading the essay.

"But I'm craving for fish soup from Sky Restaurant." Refused to give up, NaNa suddenly thought of something.

"My brother will be there. He can buy us lunch and you, my sister; you can ask him all the questions I could not answer last time". Using free food to bait Yi Fei and she took the bait, NaNa felt very accomplished.

In the afternoon, a handsome man was sitting alone at the corner of Sky Restaurant. He kept on looking at his watch when two women came to his table.

"Brother, did you wait for long?" NaNa took the seat beside Wu Chen and sat down. Yi Fei sat the opposite of NaNa.

"This is Shen Yi Fei, my housemate. Yi Fei, this is my handsome brother, Wu Chen. You can call him Brother Chen". NaNa took the initiative to introduce them to each other.

"Mm, I know. We had already introduced ourselves last week. Right, Miss Shen?" Wu Chen gave a nonchalant shrug. From the moment both of the women entered the restaurant, shorty had this silly smile on her face. It was so foolish; he wanted to wipe the smile from her face.

"Yes ah… How are you, brother?" Still, with the smug smile, Yi Fei greeted Wu Chen politely.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, they ordered their food and ate to their hearts' content. The situation was a bit awkward, so NaNa became the mediator.

"We are going to City T this weekend. Do you want to join us? You can be the driver". NaNa talked smoothly. Both NaNa and Yi Fei wanted to find their outfit for the staff dinner. They did not know who proposed the theme of their staff dinner but whoever suggested the theme of 'Favourite Character' deserved a raise.

City L is just a small city. To buy dresses and trendy shoes, one needed to go to the neighboring town, which is City T. NaNa was one of the frequent visitors to one of the Cosplay Shop there. Since the theme was 'Favourite Character,' they need to dress up as their favorite character from movies, drama or cartoon.

"Driver? I think what you mean is, I can be the person who pays for almost everything right?". Wu Chen knew what his cousin think about.

"So, would you come with us? I might do something stupid. You should be there to stop me when I did". NaNa swayed her head coquettishly.

Wu Chen wanted to decline. But he remembered that Li Wei was working in City T. It was not as if he wanted to see Li Wei, but since their fateful encounter last week, he sometimes, will think of her. While considering the idea, Wu Chen coincidentally set his gaze to shorty who was suspiciously smiling at him.

He looked at the shorty and then looked at NaNa. This cousin of his might would do something stupid if she were together with this shorty. With that, he decided that he will sacrifice himself to be the driver. It was not as if he had anything going on for the weekend. He thought he might as well explore the neighboring city.

"Yi Fei, what are you going to be? I want to be Sailor Moon". Wu Chen coughed twice after he heard that his cousin wanted to be Sailor Moon. He remembered Sailor Moon. His cousin used to watch them when they were small.

"I was thinking about Harry Potter or Harley Quinn. If I cannot find the costume, I might be a Grim Reaper. That's the easiest". Yi Fei told them a few of her ideas. The two women were chatting happily; they seemed to forget that a handsome guy was sitting with them.

The more Wu Chen listened to their conversation, the more he could not understand. The girls had a wide range of topic from movies, anime, makeup, handsome guy, books and hot gossip. Wu Chen could not keep up with them.

Before they wanted to go back to their respective place, NaNa briefed her cousin brother about their weekend plan one more time as if she was afraid that her cousin would forget.

"Brother, since this is your first time going to City T, let me, this sister to take you on this amazing trip." Yi Fei patted her chest. "I'll pick you up at 8 in the morning". She was speaking like she was one of the big brothers from the Yakuza movie.

Wu Chen was speechless. Shorty was acting tough, and it was comical enough, but he did not laugh. Instantly, he felt as if agreeing to go to City T with the two idiots might be a bad decision after all.
