He holds onto these facts, as his soul pa.s.ses through this timeless void. Long ago he forgot any name he had, the life he lived, or anything detailed. All that remains is just have a general sense of what he once had.

In endless darkness, there are glowing lights. Thousands, millions, numbers beyond counting. All flowing together, around blazing sources of light and power.

It looks as though a multicolored river of infinite translucent shapes is winding among the stars.

Each star is its own world, or "plane". And some have pieces growing or shooting off, like a solar flare connecting the star to a much small star, a chain of fire binding the two.

And in the infinity of all that is, the power of a certain plane gathered to make one of these mini-dimensions, and as it formed, it reached into the river of souls, as if looking for sustenance, or comfort.

And out of an infinite amount of souls, in this place without time, where all is and isn't, a soul was grabbed by the fire, and pulled into the forming miniature star.

And so he awoke.
