"Bleegh..."
And that is what the first sentence(or noise at least?) that I said in this new world came to be.
I pulled my glued-shut-by-sleep eyes open, and rubbed at them with no small amount of annoyance.
"Why is it so freaking bright... agh..."
Finally, my brain caught up on something. First off. I was dead. This I'm pretty sure about. I remember traveling the river of souls, and traveling among the worlds for so long I can't put a value to it. I don't really remember my life before... but I'm sure it happened.
Strangely enough, I remember things about... what's the word... media? More than my own life? Huh. Maybe my life sucked so I chose to forget that and keep all these stories and shows?
"...that's pretty depressing thing to think, me."

Next issue on my list: if I'm dead, and my soul was traveling, what happened? I remember a great source of light approaching... and now I just have a body again. That makes... no sense.
I looked down at my hands. Pale, white skin, clear skin, thin long fingers, like one who plays an instrument, and then my eyes followed down my arms and chest.
So in this process, I did see the s.p.a.ce I was in, but I mentally chose to address that later after understanding what my current state is cause something...
"...doesn't feel right."
So I was naked. Yeah, okay. I was thin, but lean with some pretty good muscle. I'm like 95% sure I never had this kind of build while alive.
After poking myself, I was sure.
"There is no way I used to have steel-like lean muscles throughout my frame. I don't look like a bodybuilder, I look like an endurance sprinter and lightning fast martial artist."
But uh... then I found the real source of a lotta my confusion.
"I thought I was naked, but now there's some kinda red-brown fluffy thing beside me?"
I reached out and grabbed that thing, and FELT. MY HANDS. TOUCHING. IT. I could feel my HANDS. Which meant that THING. Was a part of me. A tail. A furry, red brown tail.
"..."
I'm a little proud I didn't freak out at that visibly. However, I'm not ashamed to admit I did Completely and totally scream my head off the second that voice sounded off in my head.
Not because I was scared, it was just surprising, y'know? Im not a coward, in a normal day not involving sudden resurrection and tails, I'd have been fine!
Yeah not even I am buying my own s.h.i.+t.
So here's what happened:
"AAAAAAAAAAAGH WHAT THE HECK-THERES-WHERE-WHAT-FROM-!!!" After stopping and taking a few deep breaths, I decided to ask some actually coherent questions. "H-h.e.l.lo?" "...what are you?" I took a look around. Light brown wood paneled floor, paper walls with thick wooded supports evenly s.p.a.ced along it, a halfway open sliding paper door, and a raised bit of wood, s.h.i.+ny and lacquered, making a sort of mix between a shrine and a seat. Out of the open door I could see water, and the sky. How to describe it... it was like some weird fusion between a j.a.panese Shrine and a Aboriginal Log House. The pillars and walls still had bark, almost stylized with the paper, thin enough to let light in, that was a gently yellow, with swirling brown lines all over the it. Attached to these brown swirling lines were painted leaves. The floor, like the... shrine? I guess? Was smooth and s.h.i.+ny, not necessarily from anything other than use. It looked worn something by time. Overall, the atmosphere was old, but friendly. Like a welcoming grandparent who makes cookies and loves their grandchildren. "This... s.p.a.ce?" "...thanks miss exposition. So my current situation is... I got pulled into a dungeon? That was newly formed?" "I'm gonna get a headache... so basically I have a system." "..." I sighed... and then got to a point that had me really curious. "So I guess I get all that... but can you explain why I have a TAIL?!"
