"It is not that I wanted to be here in the first place. If I had a choice, I would rather stay inside my crystal cavern until I finally develop my wings and be able to soar high up to the sky."

The baby snow dragon even flaps her tiny and silly-looking wings as she said that. Before she continued her explanation.

"But that annoying old hermit forced me to travel from this far and told me to look for you."

"To look for me??? For what reason?"

Mu Lingxi didn't recall having that kind of relations.h.i.+p or impression of the old hermit. To the point that he will personally ask this spoiled little snow dragon of his, whom he obviously dotted a lot to get in touch with a stranger like her.

"I don't know either. But he instructed me to stay close to you. So in other words, you must take good care of me in the meantime. Until that old hermit comes by himself and fetched me."

"What???!!!!!"

Just who in this world asked to be adopted in that way????

Ja.n.u.s was equally dumbfounded as his master was.

Just where this birdbrain exactly came from??? Let me kicked you straight back there.

Who do you think you are to even think about sharing the same master with me???

And by any means, if there is any chance that you were really intending to be adopted by my master, don't you think you should show some bit of respect??? Instead of acting too high and mighty?!

Have you heard the word 'seniority' before? Do you even know what does it mean???

I am certainly more senior and a level higher than you. In a family hierarchy, I am the only legitimate son. You are nothing but a b.a.s.t.a.r.d! An adopted one!!!!

"What did you say????? I really don't get it"

On the other hand, Mu Lingxi looked as if she had seen a ghost. She looked no better than someone who was forced to swallowed something sour as she asked that.

"I know that the news is a bit too much for you. You must have been startled. Maybe your heart was even fluttering and you were over the clouds right now because of the joy of having a legendary snow dragon just like me in your side. But you don't have to feel pressured about it. I am certainly not a picky beast. All you have to do is give me a comfortable place to rest and delicious food to eat on a regular basis. After all, my old hermit specifically instructed me not to make things hard for you."

The fluffy white snow dragon said very considerately as she watched the master and cat duo stared at her with their mouths agape.

Mu Lingxi and her cat, Ja.n.u.s was having a hard time processing the information about what just happen. It was difficult to believe that something like this could be possible even when witnessing it with one's own eyes.

All they were planning to do was to have some fun and unwind for the rest of the night. Satisfy their cravings and have some chicken and beer or something similar to it while they enjoy the nice weather.

Yet, before they could even  achieve their goal for that night, they found themselves in this kind of darn situation.

What is with this sudden turn of events?

Why? Why??! WHHHYYYY???????

Having a single pet who loves to act smart than his master, was a huge headache by itself already. To have two of them at the same time. Was it not like asking for more trouble for herself.

If that would be the case, would it not be just a matter of time before Mu Lingxi would die out of exasperation???

"Are you sure you are looking for me? Maybe you got the wrong person?"

Although Mu Lingxi already had the answer in mind for that question. She still would like to ask it, just in case her intuition was telling her wrong.

"Affirmative. I was positive about it. There is no way I can mistake you with just anyone else. After all, you are the only one who was disguising yourself as a man among the group of warlocks that I met before in my cavern..."

The baby snow dragon said as if it was a matter of fact.

"Shhhhh... You should not say someone else's secret carelessly like that!!!"

Mu Lingxi placed a finger in front of her lips as she signal the snow dragon to hush. She look from her left to right anxiously to make sure that no one was there to hear their conversation.

"By no means, you should not let anyone find out about my disguise. Do you understand???"

Knowing that she cannot turn her back to the snow dragon now, Mu Lingxi started to negotiate with it instead. In a sense, it was not a bad deal at all.

If ever the snow dragon was still with her until it matures, it can bolster her fighting prowess. Besides, they also need the other party's ability in soul beguilement.

Once she successfully awakens this ability of hers, it could possibly help in Luna's recovery.

It is just that, she can't help but wonder what could be the old hermit's reason for sending out the snow dragon to her side? What could be his motive behind this action???

The old hermit's train of thought was really hard to fathom. They simply don't belong on the same wavelength.

 Mu Lingxi continued to look for their way out of that place. She was carrying her pet cat, Ja.n.u.s in her arms while she had the fluffy snow dragon perched in her right shoulder.

"MEOW"

[Hey you penguin, do you have a name???? Mine is Ja.n.u.s... What is yours?]

"Shut up..."

"MEOW"

[Hmm... Shut up, what a peculiar name. Nice to meet you, Shut up.]

"Can you please stop bothering me??! You stinky cat!"

"MEOW"

"Can you please be a little bit friendly? You birdbrain!"

"It's not a bird brain! It's a DRAGON BRAIN!!! 'Coz I am a dragon, the legendary snow dragon. Moron!"

The baby snow dragon as she sneered to Ja.n.u.s.

"MEOW"

[Nice try. That just certainly makes you more of a bird brain. HAHA! You nail it]

"Whatever..."

"Guys, please.. can you stop it?! Give me some peace of mind. I need to concentrate here."

Mu Lingxi ma.s.saged her glabella as she interrupted the duo. She can now see the headache that the future beholds her together with these two pets of hers.

One was on her arms while the other one was on her shoulders. It feels like she was in the middle of a fight as a referee whenever they start to squabble.

"By the way, if you happen not to have a name, would it be okay if we call you Guinevere?"

Mu Lingxi asked as she tried to stop the two from arguing with one another.

She finds it fun to give names to her pet even before. She got Ja.n.u.s' name in a greek mythology book that she had read before.

Now she was planning to use a name from an old Alturian legend that she learned on her previous life.

From how she could remember it could be, Guinevere is an Old French form of the Welsh name Gwenhwyfar, which is composed of the elements gwen meaning "fair, white" and hwyfar meaning "smooth".

Just perfect for the fluffy white furball appearance of the snow dragon.

"Yeah sure. Suit yourself. Call me whatever you want."

The snow dragon answered as she opened one of her eyes to look at Mu Lingxi who was obviously wearied from all the walking.
